Great Family House
Great Family House
We were 8 adults and 4 children ages 5,4,3 and 2! The house and rooms worked well although we did not use the third floor room for kids as it was too far away and opened up to the roof top area. This is where the bunk bed is, incidentally. Would be great for older kids though! Plenty of space for everyone! It's a nice stroll to the beach which we would do with the kids, but if spending the day you can drive and unload all the "stuff" at the round about at the end of the road on Surfrider. It's a very nice beach. Short walk to the pier where you can rent bikes and such and there is a playground close to there as well. We didn't meet the owners but spoke with them and they were always very helpful and kind! We never ate out so can't make any recommendations, but there is a restaurant at the end of the pier that looked good : ). I highly recommend this property especially for families of kids any age!

We had a big family gathering for a Big Event...my Daughter's Wedding!! So My family came from all parts of the USA. This beautiful home was the perfect place for our big family reunion! Loved the location and the home. Best parts of the home were the roof top deck complete with fire pit, BBQ, frig, ample seating. We hung out there the most catching up and reminiscing. 2nd was the ample kitchen dining area which of course was the next big hang out spot. Having 3 bathrooms was another bonus. In the early mornings some of us would get out and go for walks to the beach and or coffee shops which are close by. We were all impressed with the style of Italian Villa Row Home and very pleased that we got to stay there. Highly recommend it.

Very nice experience
Very nice experience
We arrived with 14 adults and 8 grand kids, which makes 22 people in all. Clean and nice, very spacious. Excellent job, making every room have, sleeping arrangements. We did have an issue with the furnace filter being plugged, making the A/C work hard, causing water to pool and run into the house from a old patch on the top deck. I replaced the furnace filter and sealed the roof patch. I informed Don and he would send a person over to fix it on Monday, they never showed. That is my only complaint. The pictures do not do the house justice, it is within walking distance of the beach. Very nice area to have our family vacation. I not only would rent it again, but I will recommend it to my friends. Thanks for sharing such a great property.

Owner response: We are delighted to hear that you and your family had such a great stay that you are not only looking forward to staying again, but recommending the property to friends and family! You’re right that the house is an amazing location with a very short walk to the beach, restaurants, shopping and entertainment. It definitely helps planning activities for so many people when you don’t have to get in the car. We regret that the air conditioning tech did not arrive as promised and have since switched vendors in order to get the reliable service that our guests deserve. Thank you again for your kind comments and we hope to see you again very soon.
Third year in a row renting from the same owner for Easter break!
Third year in a row renting from the same owner for Easter break!
For the past three years I have been renting properties from this same owner. Every year, my friends and I get together for an Easter retreat. It's a wonderful thing that my friends and I look forward to every single year. We get to bond and share a lot of great memories in Oceanside. Since the fun we had was so great, we decided to make this an every year retreat for us. I love renting properties from this owner because they are all so great. The houses are huge and are more than enough room for us. Most of the houses come with bicycles and fishing poles and even boogie boards. We would go fishing out on the pier, or just boogie board in the water! The houses are all really close to the beach and are really close to the local downtown which has great Mexican and Japanese eateries and even a movie theatre - all within walking distance. The properties even include bbq grills so my friends and I head to the local grocery store and BBQ on the last night we are at the house, every year! There is so much more I can add, but I think this sums up most of our fun. I can't thank the owners enough for helping us create such great and lasting memories that we can share for the rest of our lives! :)

Great for families
Great for families
This was our first time renting from VRBO and it was a great experience. Heather was easy to work with. The photos are accurate and the property is clean. Our group was three families (with children ages 5 months to 9 years old), plus my mother and sister in law. We had plenty of room- there are 3 pull out beds in the couches. We were able to fit a portable baby crib in each of the room's closets. The kitchen/dining area was well stocked and big enough to prepare meals and eat in. One night we prepared and ate dinner on the roof around the outdoor fire pit. It was cozy up there. The kids rode bikes to the beach and we also dropped off gear and parked (for free) close to the beach. The walk to the beach crosses over train tracks, but it's easy and the trains are not frequent. We rented bikes, had a bonfire and boogie boarded. There were surfers every day near the pier. One day we drove down to La Jolla Caves to explore the tide pools and watch the seals. We also visited Old Towne San Diego. There's a really neat outdoor market just a couple blocks south with bands, shopping and lots of great food every Thursday night. Don't miss it if you're there Thursdays! We had a great stay and would book again.

This house is beautiful. Nothing like the semi shaby beach rentals you sometimes see. Tons of space and very comfortable. It's an easy two block walk to the beach and the neighborhood has pretty much anything you might need. Lots of beach toys available like boggie boards, chairs, even a cooler for your picnic (thank goodness, cuz we couldn't fit ours in the car). Heather was a dream to work with. Super easy rental process and she happily answered all of my thousands of questions. In fact, it seemd a little too good to be true and I kept waiting for something to go wrong, but this is one case where it's not too good to be true--it's just too good! We will definately be back and stay longer next time.

we had a family reunion with 12 people and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Whatever issues arose during our stay was wonderfully taken care of by the owners. The location is great, the house is great, and the beds comfortable. We loved it.

This home is totally awesome!!! The pictures don't do it justice. The size is much larger than it appears in the pictures and the interior is well decorated and appointed with comfortable chairs and beds. The rooms are larger then they appear and the floor plan is well organized. We had 7 boys ranging from age 2-11 and there was plenty of room for everyone. There were 3 families and we all had our "own space" and therefore didn't get on each others' nerves. The beach was 3-4 blocks and within easy walking distance even for the 2 year old. There were plenty of boogie boards, sand toys, lawn chairs, and an unbrella which made our days at the beach much more enjoyable. Having a washer and dryer available certainly made life alot easier while on vacation. Heather was Very accomidating and a JOY to work with!!! I would definately reccommend this home as it is within easy driving distance to all kinds of activities esp Sea World, Disneyland, Legoland, the pier, harbor, and San Diego. Hodad's is an eatery in San Diego that was featured on "Diners and Dives"... great little place to enjoy a HUGE burger. There is also a wonderful Breakfast Club just down the street that was decorated in a surfer motif and had awesome breakfast burritos (share with someone...thery're Very LARGE!!) If your looking for a great place to stay that's close to everything but seperated from the noise and bussel of the large city, Oceanside and this Home will be a wonderful location for you and your family!!

I just returned from a long weekend at this rental and it was wonderful! Very well kept and tons of room. The roof top deck was great- we spent a lot of time soaking in the sun on the comfortable furniture! With just a few blocks from the beach it was perfect.
