  My husband is a marine stationed in NC. Instead of traveling home to Louisiana for Christmas, our family all decided to spend Christmas in Gatlinburg. The house isn't set high in the mountains with a really great view but it did have a huge open yard behind the house that ended up being perfect! We got a white christmas this year during our visit (which we never get in LA) and thanks to that big open field we were able to go out and have the time of our lives in that snow!! We all wished for snow and we got more than we bargained for! So we spent more time at the cabin than out in town. We were a party of ten and the place is not a large space but we never felt like we were on top of each other. Its not a big luxurious place but it was cozy and clean and we really enjoyed ourselves there. We did have a problem with the stove but they fixed our problem so fast it really wasn't an issue at all! Also, 4 of the 5 bedrooms were missing doors. We loved the fireplace and those of us brave enough to use it while it was snowing, LOVED the hot tub! Also, the kitchen supplies are minimal, but we brought everything we needed to cook just incase so that also wasn't really an issue with us. I'm only mentioning it so that if you plan to cook dinners there than you should do the same and bring what you need. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Overall, we loved it and have already said if we go to Gatlinburg next year for Christmas than we will definitely return to this cabin! We created a lot of wonderful memories in this cabin! We will be back in the future and will also refer our friends and family to stay there if they ever make their way to Gatlinburg!!

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

  Owner response: Angela...first off thanks for spending the holidays with us, and thanks for the response. We will try to pay more attention to the kitchen and supply it better in the future. All to often when we clean a cabin and pull the black liner out of the can and see the imprint of a frying pan, because they burnt it beyond cleaning and just tossed it. The kitchens were well stocked and it is an ongoing process to keep up with what has been removed. As for the bedroom doors....that is because of fire codes....the only way to put a door on the room is to replace the existing window with one that takes up the entire wall, so in case of a fire our guest can jump out the window to safety. The twenty foot jump might get them two broken legs, but they will escape the fire. I enjoyed seeing you guys in the hot tub...having a snow ball fight with the ones on the ground and jumping back in the water to escape the 15 degree outside temperature. I also think you are the one, that did not want to drive you car on the slick road and I drove it down to the bottom of the hill and I walk back home.
