  This listing does not even begin to do this location justice. View from the lanai is just stunning. One of the bests parts of each day is sipping coffee and watching the sun rise and then watching the sun set with a cold glass of wine. Just tot he right of the house is Chun's Reef, a surfing hot spot. You can watch surfers and paddle boarders from dawn to dusk As several reviewers have said, this is a turtle mecca! Climb down the rock hill behind the house and to the left and you will find a small cove just crawling with sea turtles (for those who don't know - Hawaii has very strict laws regarding their turtles - you must remain 6+ feet away from them. Be respectful of these giant beautiful creatures!) Swimming is not a good idea from the house as the area is very rocky and the surf could be a little rough. There is however an excellent swimming beach just a 2 minute walk down the street. Met several of the neighbors during our week here and they were all really nice. Now for the house. Super clean. Our upstairs neighbors left a few days before we did and we saw the housekeeper carrying a load of bedspreads downstairs to the laundry for cleaning. The biggest "ick" factor for most travelers are the bedspreads, but it appears this place actually washes them along with the sheets between each tenant. Big PLUS. Master bedroom gets tons of air circulation and the smaller rooms are pretty breezy. Portable fans are provided for those needing extra breeze. 2 charcoal grills are provided (burgers and hot dogs just taste so much better when grilled in Hawaii while looking at the ocean) and kitchen is well stocked (no blender tho - rough it by pouring your pina coladas directly over ice cubes) Now for the sites. Waimea Falls Park is close by - beautiful flora and fauna and swimming is allowed at the waterfall, providing conditions are safe for swimming - call ahead to make sure. It's a little humid in the valley so the addition of the golf cart a few years ago is a huge plus. They also have a farmer's market on Thurs afternoon. Veggies, fruits, jellies, soaps, etc. Bring cash as all vendors do not accept cards. Shark's Cove has excellent snorkeling with lots and lots of fish. Invest in an underwater digital camera and a pair of reef walkers. Turtle Bay is a great place for lunch and snorkeling. They allow non guests on the beach but will not rent you a chaise and umbrella. Giovanni's shrimp truck in Kahuku - BEST DARN GARLIC SHRIMP EVER!

  We cannot say enough wonderful things about this property! It was the prefect vacation for our family. There was 16 of us. It was the prefect setting for our family, enough room, the beach at the backyard, turtles down the beach, close to everything and anything we wanted to do. Thank you so much for a memorable time!

  We stayed here with my family and a couple of our friends. We had the unit downstairs, unit A, I believe. The view is amazing and I loved falling asleep to the waves crashing on the beach. The unit is clean and amenities are more than sufficient. We had a BBQ and got to see honu just a few yards from our porch. There is turtle beach down the road packed with other tourists trying to see one, but we had 5 at one time that we got to see sleeping on the beach. There were also several swimming in the ocean too. It's also not to far from a grocery store and the main part of North Shore. We are planning on going back sometime this year hopefully and will continue to keep coming back to this unit. It truly feels like our home away from home.

  We stayed for 6 nights in the upstairs B unit. We LOVED this rental. With the open floorplan, there was a spectacular view from the kitchen, dining room, living room, lanai, and master bedroom. The place is very spacious and family friendly, not fancy, but very tastefully done, clean, and comfortable. It's a perfect location for all kinds of north shore activities, many within walking distance or a short drive away. The gated entrance and ample parking were a plus... the outdoor shower was great for keeping the sand outside. There are surfers and kitesurfers on the beach nearby all day long, turtles come up on the rocks right out front every day. The beach just to the west is a gathering place for 20some hanu, and naturalists were there to log their activities and had very interesting information about each one. We found the best snorkeling to be at Three Tables Beach, across from the Foodland, and it also had a nice beach for swimming. Our neighbors had their car broken into at the Waimea Falls parking lot, which is not uncommon anywhere in the states as well, so don't leave valuables in your car. The owner was very attentive to ensuring that everything was to our liking. This place exceeded our expectations and I would absolutely recommend it. Mahalo.

  We took our four children, 2 children in-law and 2 grandchildren over Spring Break. Kept the windows open the entire time. I can't get enough of the sound of the surf. There were turtles on the beach, whales playing in the distance and surfers almost 24/7. The property is the quintessential beach home. We noticed while on a beach walk that it is one of the few homes in the area with grass on the beach side. The 1-yr old and 3-yr old loved that. There is a gate to the property so parents only have to keep an eye on the ocean side for wandering children. We rented bikes and rode in to Haleiwa for the farmers market, beach park and lunch. We visited the Polynesian Cultural Center on our last day and found out that the ticket we had purchased allowed for multiple visits within a 2 week period. Our mistake for not paying closer attention, we would have liked to gone back. The babies loved the Dole Plantation and we all enjoyed our "Dole Whip". Our son rented a surf board in Haleiwa each day that we didn't do the "tourist" thing. It was very convenient. Of course Pearl Harbor was a requirement. We rotated with our kids in cooking meals and that worked out beautifully for everyone. If you did nothing but sit in the back yard and watched the show that nature and a group of devoted surfers put on for you it would be well worth the week. My husband got 2 books read in that back yard. It was cloudy in the evening the first few days we were there, but when we saw that first sunset it took our breaths away. We did go into Honolulu and did the drive by at Waikiki and the entire family was thrilled that we were not caught up in that "mess" and had our very own house and only had to share the beach with a few locals. If there is a downside the traffic on Kamehameha got pretty backed up on the weekends with all the turtle and surfer watchers. Since my husband and I are both from beach communities originally we knew this was to be expected.

  We returned here in July, after staying in January 2009 (both times in the downstairs unit). While, of course, in the summer it's not possible to watch big waves and extraordinary surfing from the window, porch or backyard, the views are still wonderful, the sunsets still incredible, and the house still comfortable. The North Shore in the summer is just as great as in the winter. I look forward to going back.

  My daughter, two grandsons, and I had a wonderful time staying in Surfside A for a week. We wanted to stay on the North Shore near Haleiwa so the location was perfect. We enjoyed the shops, restaurants, and shaved ice in Haleiwa. The view was amazing! I loved sitting on the deck watching the winter waves and the surfers. And there were turtles! The house was well stocked with dishes and cookery. We stayed on the lower level which was great for me because I have trouble with stairs. My grandsons enjoyed the TV when they weren't busy with an activity or playing on the beach. You can hear the people on the upper level so that would be something to consider if you are a light sleeper. Booking a reservation was easy and they refunded my security deposit quickly. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend staying here to friends.

  Our family stayed 9 nights in the upper unit during August and loved every minute of our stay. To start with the owner and booking agents (Team Realty) were very efficient with our reservation and forwarded comprehensive instructions on getting to the property and picking up keys (we arrived in Oahu at 9.30pm so everything was done in the dark) Everything at the property was as stated. The views from the lanai were truly amazing. What a special feeling to wake up on the first morning (and every morning) to the sights and sounds of the ocean. Chuns beach is excellent for swimming and snorkelling around the rocks. Nice rock pools for the younger kids too. Turtles sleeping on a small secluded beach nearby was a special treat. The property had plenty of cutlery, pots and pans and general utensils. Nothing required apart from some supplies at the local supermarket. The unit was very spacious, clean and the location 2kms from Hale'iwa town was perfect. Waimea bay, Sharks cove and other fabulous beaches are a short drive up the coast (5 minutes to Waimea) Our teenage boys appreciated the internet too...Guess its a must for some:)) The ceiling fans were more than adequate in keeping us cool during the evenings or at night whilst the ability to fall asleep listening to the waves was very special. I'm not normally an 'early' person, but I just could not help in getting up at 5am, sitting on the lanai with a coffee and watching the sun rise. Sunsets were gorgeous too. There is the occasional 'bug' but given the location its nothing I would not expect to see. This is a lovely 'honest' beach house and we would definately love to visit again. Just to finish, the agents returned our security deposit (minus cleaning as expected) two days after we vacated the property. Thank you to the owners and property management. We had a truly wonderful vacation.

  We were very impressed with the property. The location was ideal, stunning looking out to the Ocean, with Chuns Beach just a few rocks away! Whether sitting on the lanai, or out on the lounges in the backyard, the views to be taken in were majestic. The house was lovely, very comfortable, and spacious. A perfect Beach House! I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this property to fellow Australians who are looking to come over to visit beautiful Hawaii. In particular, the amazingly beautiful North Shore. This beach house provided a perfect location for a relaxing holiday.

  Eight of us rented the house for a family holiday from Jan. 27 to Feb. 10. We ranged in age from 70 to 4. We were very comfortable. It had everything we needed, from a yard for the 4 year old to play to a view from the deck we ever tired of. The house was well equipped for cooking and had plenty of bedding and towels. The outdoor shower was such a treat. Don't miss the bakery "Teds" near Sunset Beach. The little town of Haleiwa was a delight and we found dining and grocery prices comparable to home. The home's central location makes it perfect for touring the beautiful island.
