  This house was great, very clean and beautifully updated inside just as described and pictured. It was much nicer than any of the other properties I looked at for a similar or even more expensive price. We only had 4 people in the house there was definitely room for the grandparents to join comfortably if they had the chance. We have a 3 year old and a 6 month old so we were pretty lucky finding this place since it is closer to the sound, the waves are much smaller than just around the corner of the beach so we didn't have to worry about my daughter getting knocked around by the waves. There are also a lot more shells and wildlife on this side of the beach. My daughter loved watching the dolphins and looking for little crabs, we even saw a ray swimming around at low tide one afternoon and plenty of horseshoe crabs. The walk from the house to the beach is very short so I usually ended up walking it with the baby while my husband put the chairs and umbrella on top of the car and drove (a 3 year old can get very whiney very quickly). The layout of the house was also very convenient with the little bedroom with the 2 small beds in the front of the house so my daughter wouldn't wake the baby sleeping in the back bedroom. It was great that there was an umbrella and chairs in the storage room so we didnt have to bring our own and there was even a little inflatable kiddy pool and some beach toys that my daughter enjoyed. I would highly recommend this property to anyone else especially over any of the properties on real estate rental company sites since those typically tag on an extra cleaning fee, booking fee, tax, ect. to what the stated rent is. I really appreciated that everything was grouped together and there were no extra hidden fees to elevate the cost! I am sure that you will not find a nicer or more convenient property for the price.

  We had not had a vacation from a considerable ways from home in a very long time, probably at least 5 years. Our daughter had just graduated from high school and was absolutely confident in going to the beach. Noone in the family seemed to care about where we stayed except that it had to be close to the beach. My husband wanted us to stay on an island, so I was on a search. I also had about 2 1/2 weeks to make this decision on where we were going to stay. I searched online for a long time and I was striking out because we along with everyone else was needing a vacation. We found this wonderful little bungalow online and it had 3 bedrooms which meant that everyone had there own room. The Cummings were geat to leave us a lot of material as to what Edisto had to offer which helped us tremendously. The house had everything in it that you would ever need - plates, spices, candles, and even matches to boot. They had all of the kitchenware in case you would want to whip up something in the house. The bungalow was so very clean too, I had no problems with ever with feeling like it was unkept in any way. It was hard to pack up knowing that our house was waiting for a cleaning and washing was waiting for me. UGH! They even have a clothes washer which came in good use a time or two. They had some toys to take to the beach and my husband and I really enjoyed the chairs and umbrella too, just to sit and bask in the sun with our 70 sunblock. The photos were very accurate to the t. Everything taken was very clean and neat. The furniture and beds were very clean and spotless, when we walked into the bungalow it was very clean smelling, no fowl odors. I am very very sensitive to smells and this house was very well kept. Our children (18 years - girl and 16 years - boy) were very well pleased with the location. We were only about 3 streets away from the beach. A lot of people around had golf carts but we did not see the need for one because we really did enjoy the beach. We did go to Charleston which was a very beautiful city, full of history and shopping and lots of restaurants. I would highly recommend this property to anyone . The Cummings will help in anyway they can to put you on the right track to help to make your stay that much more enjoyable. They are very good and accommodating people. All you need to do is to let them know what your looking for in your stay on the island and they will help you out with it. Thank you again Rhonda and Scott

  This beach house is well-described as a "quaint beach bungalow steps from the ocean". It has a grill that we used for great steaks one night (the Piggly Wiggly sells whole beef tenderloins for amazingly low prices - we cut it into really good filets). We used the beach umbrella that was available in the storage room (thanks Ronda and Scot!) ...and, of course, the wide screen TV kept the kids entertained when we needed to wind them down at night. ...and they even had a CASE of popcorn on-hand for those late movie nights! We had four children with us during a week in July, 2010 - and the house was just big enough, and located in a perfect spot, for my wife and I to enjoy each other while the children happily entertained themselves. We even found an Edisto Arrowhead while walking on the beach together! Since the house was not rented the day before we arrived, the owner sent me a TXT message saying that I could check in early if I wanted to. Same for the day we departed. I know it can't always work out like that, but for her to even think to offer an earlier check in and later check out was a thoughtful gesture. We've been back home for two weeks now, and my kids are still retelling stories of the fun things we did while at this house. Any other house would have been too much or too little. Give this one a try, you won't regret it - and you won't feel like you spent too much money on a rental property!
