The Blue House is a vacation rental with all the comforts of home and a healthy dose of rustic charm. We are conveniently located on a private drive just off Ca 140 on the way to Yosemite (23 miles to park boundary!).
This Victorian style Farmhouse, with wrap around porch, is the perfect home for your Yosemite vacation. Relax in the large family room with all sorts of entertainment (Satellite Television, DVD library, WiFi, Music, Books, Board games, and lots of historical memorabilia), or take in the lovely evenings on the grounds. The kitchen is complete with all the gadgets and gizmos needed to cook gourmet meals, but is also ready for fast meal preparation. Enjoy dining in the formal dinning room, or breakfast in our charming sun-room. Relax in the Den and enjoy the game on our 42" flat screen TV and a large comfy couch. Each Bedroom is carefully decorated and is complete with private bathroom. All our rooms are equipped with radiant heated floors and solar heated hot water. Every part of Big Blue is meant to make you feel relaxed and at home during your stay.

We have lived and worked in Yosemite for our entire lives and enjoy sharing all our knowledge about what the area has to offer. We live on site (a good distance from the rental!) and are happy to help. We love this area and are so blessed to be able to share a bit of the Sierras with our guests! Our hope is that you can enjoy our home, garden, and animals leaving your stay with lasting memories.
Why the Owner Chose Mariposa
We originally set out to run a bed and breakfast for all the visitors to Yosemite National Park. As time has moved on, we have too. This house is just too perfect as a vacation spot not to rent it to happy families to enjoy on their way to Yosemite.
The Unique Benefits of this Farmhouse
While staying at Big Blue you can enjoy our small farm animals. We have Goats, St. Criox sheep, and chickens on the way!

We had such a wonderful time staying at this house. The house is supper cute and even better looking then the pictures show. We stayed in Big Blue as a party of 8, we had so much room to spread out and the water pressure in the showers was awesome considering there are 5 showers to choose from. We stayed in the area to be able to go Yosemite National Park, the driving is very beautiful and not very long, I would definitly recommend this property .

Flora and Aaron made use feel right at home. It was more than I dreamed of the house and everything in it was so beautiful. My son is a teenager that doesn't like to hang around with his parents anymore and he said it was going to be boring but I think he had more fun than anyone. He said it was so fun he can't wait to go back. The house brought use closer together as a family it was awesome. You can set out on the porch and hear the crickets at night and see the stars in the sky. Words could not describ it because it was so beautiful and peaceful. Thank you so much Aaron and Flora

We just came back from spending 5 wonderful nights in this lovely house. It was spacious for both of our families and everything we needed this house had it. The house has the charm of a gone by era, with the modern conveniences of today. Flora and Aron were very helpful since we didn't know the area well. They are great hosts and made us feel welcome. Hope to go back soon!

I cannot say enough good things about this house and the couple that rent it out! It is huge, beautiful and well kept. The owners are such nice people that really want you to enjoy your stay. They feel like family while you're there. The house has so any beautiful rooms with special touches. It had great anitques and fluffy comfortable beds. Every room has a bathroom and plenty of room for everyone without being crowded. I loved the animals on the property. It was close enough to Yosemite to drive in within 45 minutes and back to Mariposa to buy groceries. I really loved the house so much that I just wanted to stay there and relax and enjoy each room. I must admit the breakfast room was probably my favorite, but taking a bubble bath in a claw fot tub is hard to beat! I felt sad when we left the house! I had grown attached and can't wait to go back! It's like renting out your own private Bed and Breakfast! Thank you Aaron and Flora for the great house.....see you again soon

Our party of 7 enjoyed "Big Blue" very much. A comfortable home with all the basic supplies like TP, salt & pepper, etc that many VRBO homes do not provide. Well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, etc. The house allowed plenty of space with a bedroom and bath for everyone. The teen boys liked reading on the porch swing and exlporing the back yard and woods. The adults enjoyed relaxing on the porch also, the space & privacy. I loved a soak in the clawfoot tub after a long hike. Short drive into the park along the beautiful Merced river. Flora and Aaron are perfect hosts, availalbe when needed but unobtrusive. Highly reccomended and would love to go back and stay even longer!
