This wonderful single family home is located just one house back from Tybee's South End Beach and has great views of the Back River, Little Tybee Island, and beautiful sunsets. Mere steps away from sandy toes and water. Or relax and enjoy the sea breezes from the spacious wrap around porches. The quiet residential neighborhood is tucked away from crowds, but is only a short stroll (via beach or street) to restaurants, shops, and the parade route (Tybee celebrates 'holidays' in style... St. Patrick's Day, Christmas, Beach Bum, Pirate Fest...!).
The house is very bright and open with lots of windows and cheerful colors. Just about every room has views of the water and doors leading out onto a porch. The 10' deep wrap around porches have a ping pong table, grill, hammock, dining table, and sitting areas. The fenced in yard has a swing set with a slide for the little ones. The outdoor shower has hot & cold water and is conveniently located near the gate to the beach. This is the perfect place for entertaining family and friends!

Anna Mia cottage was perfect for our family's weekend visit for our sister's wedding. The kitchen was easy to navigate as we prepared appetizers the first night. All the right dishes & utensils! Plenty of room to just hang out, catch up with everyone. Everyone loved the comfortable beds & immaculate bathrooms. We were beachside but the weather didn't cooperate this time. We will come back when there is a little less wind and a little more sun! It was great to have wi-fi but all the smart phones and tablets being used at the same time slowed things down a little. We were very patient. Loved the porches and balcony views when the sun came out. The yard looks very inviting to families with young children. We only had a 9 year old. The property looked just as it did online. We never did find the ping pong table. We had one meal on Tybee; The Social Club accommodated our party of 20 very well. Every one seemed to enjoy their meal. I would definitely recommend this cottage to family & friends.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

This is a great house and decorated so beautifully! This was our first trip to Tybee so was not aware of the beach set up. The beach itself is several blocks away but a very easy walk from the house. However, to the back of the house is a smaller beach area and pier just steps away. I highly recommend spending some time down there late afternoons when the dolphins come in to feed. We took the kayak out and were so close to the dolphins... it was amazing!! A highlight of the trip! The house was very well stocked and very clean. Susan was very attentive to some small fix-its that needed to be done. Nothing that hampered the trip though! The only thing missing was the ping pong table so the kids were a little sad about that but the kayak and dolphins and afternoon trips to the "back beach" totally made up for it! Thank you Susan for sharing your beautiful home and being such a great hostess!Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, families with teenagers.

The house was perfect for the number of people we had. It was very clean and well maintained. There are 4 bedrooms (including master) on the top floor and 1 King on the main level. The linens were of the nicest we have had in a rental home. I mean, really, probably at least an 800 thread count in the master. Kitchen was stocked decently. Wish there would have been a whisk and also storage containers. I only found one container that had a lid and it was small. I had to store baked biscuits in a pitcher. My husband says that the TVs are from the 90s and need to be updated. The owner was very pleasant to deal with and made sure we had ample towels as requested. She did inform us that the cable was out on the day we were arriving. Wasn't a big deal to me -- but the men in the house were not happy about having to go elsewhere to watch March Madness. Apparently there is something to be said for hearing the commentator and that doesn't happen at a restaurant/bar. With that being said, the location at the south end of the island is amazing. Walkable to shops and restaurants. The beach access is close to the house and we enjoyed a nice stroll around to the fishing pier and through the retail area back to the home. I would definitely recommend this home to a friend or relative wishing to have convenience on Tybee Island.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Let me start by saying, "I'm an extremely picky person." I researched many different places and homes in which to stay during the Christmas Holiday season (Dec 25- Jan 1st). This house feels like a home. It is everything I hoped for and more. The reviews are acurate. The pictures of the home do not do it justice. Everyone walked through the door and immediately had an awe factor. The kids were amazed. I felt as if I was staying at a friend's house who was out of towm. Our family of six ranged from 10 year olds to, teenagers, to college students to ...well, mom and dad are older (LOL). The home is clean, no bugs, no dirt, better than a hotel. The bedrooms are large. We had so much room we didnt even use one of the bedrooms. The master bedroom is amazing with a gigantic walk in closet, extremely comfortable bed,and master bath to die for. All the beds are very comfortable as I laid in them all. My daughter loved the bunk bed toom. Decks and views from every room. The kitchen is well stocked. We ate most every meal right here. There is a two car garage. The neighborhood is quiet and the other residents homes are on par with this home. The neighborhood is safe. I went running several times and my kids went exploring by themselves with no problems The beach is literally feet from the back door. There is one house between this home and the beach. The kids enjoyed using the kayak. The laundry room and washer and dryer are very nice. Plenty fo hot water for six of us to take showers, do the laundry, use the dishwasher and use the jacuzzi all at the same time. For the MArines out there, Parris Isalnd is about 1 hour and 15 mins away. The college kids enjoyed exploring savannah. We enjoyed the mall. The internet kept up for us to all surf and watch netflix. Susan, the owner, was a real pleasure to work with. She was accessible via phone, text and email (We were communicating on Christmas day, as we made the trip down to GA from MAryland.) She was quick to respind for months before as I planned the trip. Rent this home. You wont be disappointed...until you have to leave and go back home. Can't wait to come back. Thank you Susan!.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Our church staff had a retreat at this amazing home and it was just a perfect location for our getaway. The house was so homey and we had plenty of room to relax and spread out for various meetings. Plus, it was just steps away from the beach. Definitely hope we can come back again. Thanks for a wonderful time!Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers.

What a great house for our family trip with three generations! There was plenty of room for everyone and ample supplies for our enjoyment. Games, books, beach toys, kitchen supplies... Even both sets of grandparents enjoyed the kayak! We enjoyed the ping pong table, the porches, the swing - Everything! We loved being so close to the river and the 'downtown' area of Tybee. This home even had fishing poles for the guests to use. Susan, thanks for sharing such a wonderful place and adding some great memories for our families!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, girls getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We loved your house so much! It's so easy to get to the back beach and it felt like our own private beach. The location is so great! All of our favorite places to eat and drink were an easy walk or bike ride away. Even better was the house. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen & family room were so nice! Our favorite place to hang out was outside on that amazing porch!! Thanks again for sharing your house with us! We will be back for sure! :)Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

We had an absolutely wonderful, relaxing time at Anna Mia Cottage. There was plenty of room for all of us to sleep and be comfortable. We had a group of 6 adults, 2 teenagers and a 19 month old. The house is so conveniently located to the back river. We were able to walk right down to the river with our kayaks and launch them very easily. The house is also a short walk to the main beach and the pavillon. The kitchen was stocked very well with plenty of dishes, pots, pans, cups, glasses, and utensils. We were especially happy to see some kid friendly dishes too! The phots were very accurate. We found the kitchen to be much larger in person than what we expected from the photos. The property was quite clean and well maintained. The only thing I would suggest for the owner is to clean the carpeting and rugs. The owner was very helpful when we called or emailed her with questions. Her responses were very quick. All in all our stay was very pleasant and everyone had a wonderful time. We are hoping to reserve Anna Mia Cottage again next summer.Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Update: The carpets have since been professionally cleaned and look terrific. Thanks for being such great guests!

We had a wonderful time!! Just a hop, skip and a jump from the beach! The accomodations were very comfortable and there was plenty of space for the 10 of us. We really enjoyed sitting on the porch every night relaxing and talking about the days events. We appreciate the opportunity to stay at your beautiful home. We hope to come back very soon! Our family of seven had a wonderful stay in this house on tybee island. The house was bright, spacious, and nicely decorated. The beds were great and everyone enjoyed having their own rooms. We loved all the porches and decks with access from every room. We especially enjoyed the kayak although we did rent an extra paddle since we could only find one. Would suggest at least two adult life preservers be provided although the water was so shallow we didn't feel any concern if we did tip over. The owner was very prompt in responding to any issues we had. The location was great-off the main drag yet within walking distance of the ocean beaches, shops, and restaraunts and pubs. And our weather was perfect-no rain! We definitely would rent this house again if we come back to tybee.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1998
About the owner: Although we moved into 'town' to be closer to schools and every day activity, we love escaping to our beach house whenever possible. It's always refreshing to drive the Tybee road toward our piece of paradise!
Why the Owner Chose Tybee Island:
Personally I think this particular location on the island is the best... Somewhat undiscovered part of the beach in a quiet residential neighborhood, with commercial activity near enough to walk to (by beach or road). And it is a very convenient spot to nose your boat up to the beach, hop on and take off to explore the surrounding waterways and nearby uninhabited islands... How great is that?!!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
A few unique benefits of the property: walking out of the door and being on the beach in a few short steps, parking it in the sand or strolling around the front beach to see the action, kayaking across the river to Little Tybee Island (a paradise in itself!), capturing the beautiful sunsets!!, being close enough to restaurants and shopping but far enough away from the crowds, watching the dolphins play (from the beach or the house!), playing ping pong on the porch... the list goes on!
