Tropical Breeze is the best house that we have stayed in on Captiva in the 13 years we have been vacationing there. The location of the house is perfect...steps from the beach. We took advantage of our location for daily beach visits, night crab "hunting" with the kids, and to stroll over to the Mucky Duck for music and food. The rooftop deck was perfect for our own private happy hour sunsets. The games by the pool were fun for the adults and kids alike. The house was equip with beach gear (the kids boogied boarded for the first time). There were 10 people in the house,but it was so spacious, you never felt like you were crowding each other, Thank you for sharing your beautiful; house with us. We had a great extended family getaway!!!

Lee saved the day by delivering a walker for my 85 year old mother, can’t properly express my appreciation. All 9 of us enjoyed every minute in your beautiful home. We hope to return. Best Property On Captiva Island

We have stayed with our four young children at several houses on Captiva Island, and frankly, none of them come even close to this house. Everything in the house is above and beyond -- from the beautiful kitchen, to the huge screened in outdoor space, to the biggest HD TV that I have ever seen, to the perfect layout and location, to the careful attention and care of the owners and their agent on the island. My only complaint is that the house is almost always booked, and I don't know how I am going to stay anywhere else again!

Our family of 10 ranging in ages from 76 to 5 years old enjoyed all that your home offers! Tropical Breeze is well equipped for fun- games room, pool, board games, flat screen t.v.’s, dvds and lending library. Your home is ideally situated to a great beach, small shopping district, groceries and restaurants. We enjoyed walking to the marina to take a day trip to Gasparilla and renting golf carts and eating at the Pink Elephant. Shells dolphins, catching Sheep’s head fish and relaxing. Wed love to return some day.

What a marvellous week. This house made for a relaxing, glorious time in paradise! Everyone loved the ping pong and pool amenities especially the pool offered the children hours of fun! But my very favourite part was the upstairs deck with the perfectly framed view of the Gulf. I could have stayed there for ever. Thank you for sharing your special space with us. We leave refreshed and relaxed. This is the best place we have stayed in yet! The pool and game room were awesome. A aged 10.

The pictures on the web site do not do this house justice. It is a beautiful property located near the ocean, shopping and eateries. Overall the house was great for our three families including kids. There is a great downstairs area that surrounds the pool that includes a tiki bar, outdoor billiards, foozball, and ping pong. There were tons of beach toys and items available to use. The property was clear and well kept. This house is worth the few extra dollars to get the best. We went on a fishing trip with a local guide while we were there and caught tons of fish which was great since the kitchen at this house is great to cook in and socialize. Overall, we had a great time and would recommend this house.

A beautiful house within walking distance of the beach and local restaurants. The house had anything one would want from a vacation property. Not only were the kitchen and bedrooms abundant but the common areas were also very generous in size. The pool and game area downstairs were a nice addition to this beautiful house. This shore destination was more than we expected.

We spent a week in April in this wonderful house. Very spacious, clean and comfortable. Kids loved the pool/game space arrangement. Eating outside on the covered porch in any weather is a great plus! The beach is 2 steps from the house... clean, not overcrowded... fantastic! We'll be back!

Our stay at Tropical Breeze was very enjoyable. The house is lovely and well maintained. We have stayed in several houses on Captiva...this is our favorite because of the house and it's location. This was our second stay at this house and we have booked it for next year. We are an extended family of ten. Eight adults and two children. The only thing that would work better for us is to have one of the twin rooms be another king bed room but we realize that might not be what other people prefer. We enjoy the fact that it is easy to walk to the beach and also to several restaurants. The fact that the house has a large open living room with a huge sectional sofa is perfect. Having a set of washers and dryers on both levels is very nice. And the rooftop deck with a view of the Gulf is very pleasant. Thank you for letting us share this beautiful house.

We had the most fantastic family holiday at Tropical Breeze in Captiva. All of the bedrooms were well furnished with en suite facilities and the main rooms were beautifully appointed. The indoor pool was inside a large net to keep the insects out which made outdoor dining very pleasurable. The ping pong and pool table were a big hit with the kids. It was also great to be so close to the beach.

We had our family spring vacation at Tropical Breeze for two weeks in late March-early April 2011. This was our 6th year renting Tropical Breeze, so we obviously are pleased with it. (We have also signed up for 2012.) We particularly appreciate the many improvements made over the years including for this season creating a recreation area in the lower level with pool and ping pong tables. We are told that a tiki bar is coming for next year. When we first rented Tropical Breeze in 2006 we were primarily attracted by the location, which is ideal for families with young children. Since Captiva has very little public parking, there is not much traffic, and the speed limit is low. Also, the beaches are not crowded due to limited public parking. Wightman Lane gets very little traffic since it ends just past the house at the beach. The location of the house so close to the beach makes it easy and safe for young children to go back and forth from the beach to the house and pool. A short walk down the beach brings you to the Mucky Duck for drinks, food and fun. Andy Rosse Lane is a block away and has a small commercial district with a general store, beach rentals and several restaurants. Key Lime Bistro is our favorite. We would describe Tropical Breeze as a luxury beach home with virtually every feature and amenity a family would want. The 5 bedrooms (two of which are master suites) and 5 bathrooms are more than adequate for 10 guests. A laundry room on each floor is a big help. At 4,500 square feet the home is very spacious with a large “great room” encompassing the kitchen, dining area and living room. The large island in the kitchen area is ideal for setting up laptops to connect through the high speed wifi service. Our favorite part of the home is the large rooftop deck with a clear view of the gulf. Toasting sunset is a daily ritual for us. There are three other decks allowing a large group to spread out for reading and conversation. The home is also well decorated throughout with a beach theme. In addition to the rec area and swimming pool the lower level has covered parking for two cars, lots of beach chairs and sand toys and a big wheeled cart to transport these to the beach. The lower level also has the second refrigerator ideal for storing beverages for the beach and pool. The two outdoor showers help keep sand out of the house. Royal Shell does a great job cleaning the house and is responsive to any problems that come up.

This home is lovely and perfect for two families, with two gorgeous master bedrooms. The house is spacious and beautiful. We ate on the back deck for most of our meals, overlooking the pool and within the huge screened in backyard. We also ate some meals on the third floor deck overlooking the ocean and sunset. The location is excellent--quiet and just steps away from the beach (we saw dolphins every day!), and a 5 minute walk to a small shopping complex with a boutiques, food market and Starbucks. We were a also a short drive to the grocery store and the farmer's market (not daily) where we got local produce and seafood. Thank you for providing such a lovely and relaxing home for our vacation!

We stayed at tropical breeze in february this year. We had never been to Captiva before, so we were a party of eight out on an adventure. We booked tropical breeze after seeing it on the internet and it looked truly amazing, and believe me.... it is. The house is everything it says it is, the layout is exceptional, truly beautiful in every way. each room is spacious and tastefully decorated, a big useable kitchen, light airy lounge with all the mod cons you can imagine, it is spotlessly clean, and has a great top deck where you can sit with sundowners and have the best poition to see the sun set, a spectacular poistion. It is also within walking distance of the beach, and all the local restaurants. we tried a different one each day, and they are all great, the green flash being our favourite, but all were excellent, and what a bonus to be able to walk to them. we did boat trips golf, a little shopping, the beach, dolphin watching, sunset cruising and had such a great time, we did not get far outside the island, and have decided we all want to go back, as there is so much more to see. Tropical breeze is paradise found, with all you could want in a wonderful house, pool b b q and games area,even has hi fi system running through the house, we were spoiled, and would not want to go anywhere else, we would recommend to anyone, to stay here, very hard to beat, and fab location. We all Agree, the 8 of us, this would be a hard one to follow. Owners extremely helpfull and provided a great customer service. We will go back for sure. Hello Phil & Natalie, Our apologies for the delayed request for a review! Seems like "real life" hit us in the face upon our return and our vacation seems like it was a year ago. Alas, we are snowed in today (2 ft.!) so we have the time to write as we've been thinking about our wonderful vacation. We found Tropical Breeze to be perfect accommodations for us. We loved being within walking distance to the beach and felt comfortable with our young kids running back to the house to grab something. I think the house is well-stocked with kitchen supplies, games, laundry facilities, information about Captiva, etc. We utilized it all! About the only suggestion we could make would be to perhaps invest in some new beach umbrellas. The current ones were in rough shape. Also, shelling or beach toys would be great as it's hard to pack those things in a suitcase. Perhaps you've always been well-stocked with those and they tend to "disappear" but our family would have benefited from having those downstairs near the awesome wheelbarrow we hauled everything to the beach with. We took full advantage of the pool, pool table & ping pong, rooftop deck and the patio off the kitchen. We would absolutely recommend your property to others. Awesome house-Best location

The pictures for this house do not do it justice. My family and extended family stayed here for 4 nights and from the minute we got there, we were already talking about when we could go back. The house is enormous, clean, comfortable, and you will use very inch of the house. We watched the sunset from the upper deck, loved the pool area, played pool and ping pong, and cooked gourmet meals in the huge kitchen. The location is PERFECT- 1 minute walk to beach and 8 minute walk to town. You will have peace and quiet here. Anything you might need for the beach and pool is available. The owners were always available and accommodating. This is the place to stay in Captiva Island- we had the perfect vacation!!! I give Tropical Breeze my highest recommendation.

Had a wonderful time at Tropical Breezes. The location is perfect with an easy walk to everything. Beautiful home with everything you would need: pool toys, beach chairs, umbrellas bogie board, buckets, DVD movies, books, plenty of kitchen utencils, great gas grill, 2 wahers/dryers. Very spacious and comfortable. Loved the pool, all the decks and the rain head shower head.

Christmas in February

Our families have vacationed together as our Christmas gift to them for several years. This is the first time at Tropical Breeze. I am certain it won't be the last. This house has it all! The kitchen was the best...we love cooking and it has four or five of everything. Sharp knives, plenty of pots and pans in every size, good dishwasher,stacks of plates and glasses. I could go on and on. The bedrooms were large and the closets were the size of small rooms! The beds were quite comfortable with coloful linens so appropriate for the beach setting. The decks and pool area were awesome...perfect for sunset. Mark thought we should sell tickets so others could have the view! In closing, the house was spotless. Please consider this property if you want a really nice place so close to the beach. Our little ones could run "home" alone if needed. Thanks to the Buckingham's for sharing!!!

Beautiful roomy beach house. Only 3 houses from the beach and around the corner from the "downtown". Heated pool wonderful perk and lots of sand toys for the kids and tons of chairs, beach towels too. Wonderful place for kids as they really can feel free. Cars rarely go down the "street" and beaches relatively uncrowded with loads of sea shells and great dolphin viewings. Owner was very accommodating and readily answered any question I had. Great Mexican restaurant on the corner with awesome service and reasonable prices.

This has to be the best rental property we've stayed in. Having viewed the website before our holiday we were expecting something beautiful but the reality was even better! The house is perfectly located for the beach and we loved being able to walk to the local restaurants. All cooking and dining requirements are well catered for and with every bedroom having its own tv and dvd player and ensuite bathroom there were no arguments over who had the best room - we all did!!! During our visit we spent a few nights in Orlando at the Hard Rock Hotel and realised that in comparison Tropical Breeze is EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY. It's immaculately presented, has a perfect location and everything and more that we could have hoped for. We'll definitely be returning .

We had a great holiday in a fantastic location. The house is amazing, easy access for the beach and in walking distance of retaurants. Excellent not having to use the car if you wanted to eat out. The house was very clean and very well maintained The main bedrooms are enormous and the surround sound music to all rooms (including outside) brilliant. We don't normally return to the same location but we so enjoyed our holiday here we have already booked for next year and cant wait to be back at Tropical Breeze.

We had an absolutely fantastic time on the island and loved everything about Tropical Breeze. It is so well equipped, has such a great layout, is unbelievably spacious and comfortable, and we found it immaculately clean when we arrived - which is no mean feat in itself I would imagine...and very much appreciated, especially as we had our 2 young children and my mum with us! We knew it was well located and when we got there and compared it to some of the other houses we had been considering we were more than happy with our choice. It was so nice to be on a quiet lane, yet only steps from the beach and a few minutes walk from the main street. It was perfect for us and we hope to return at some point in the future. The thing we didn't quite expect was the scale of the house - it was more spacious than it appears on the website, but even though we were a small group we didn't feel lost in it if that makes sense. In terms of anything you could provide - the only tiny thing we missed having was teaspoons, but I feel embarrassed even mentioning it because the kitchen at Tropical Breeze is by far the best equipped of any holiday house we have ever rented anywhere in the world! The weather was brilliant too by the way - in the late 70's or early 80's and very settled.

Wow! What a wonderful place. It’s been like living in a ‘little slice of heaven’.The home, food, sunsets, beach and the manatee that visited us on the beach have created wonderful memories for our four children and their grand parents. Its really hard to pack up tonight and return home after this phenomenal vacation.We hope to return again real soon.

Thank you so much for sharing your home. This is our second visit to Tropical Breeze. We enjoyed it just as much this time as our first time. We really were happy to see the additional refrigerator downstairs, it came in very handy. The weather was great. We ate at the Mucky Duck twice, breakfast at the Key Lime Bistro and enjoyed large pieces of cake from the Bubble Room. The changes that were made to the pool area(allowing more patio room) were great. There was so much more room than when we were here in 2004. We really appreciate the large kitchen and family room area. Thank you again and we hope to be back sometime soon.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful ‘Tropical Breeze’ paradise with us. Although we got off to a rocky start with tropical storm Alberto hitting us, we were really able to have fun shopping, playing games and catching big waves. In no time the weather cleared up and we were able to enjoy a real tropical breeze. We were able to enjoy the jet skis and we saw many different water animals like dolphins, manatees and a huge turtle.We wish our stay could have been longer but we will be sure to come back again.

This has been another great year in your beautiful home. We are four families and we enjoy your home. We have stayed at other homes but they don’t compare. We were happy to hear that you had small damage to your home during the hurricane. Everything is always very comforting. Your beautiful home has made our first family vacation in 14 years even more enjoyable than imagined. Our best friends are renting Villa Villakula next door with their kids and grand parents which prompted us to rent Tropical Breeze.We have felt like we have won the lottery this week with the fabulous amenities you have provided. We have been in condos in Sanibel over the past 15 years but felt that Captiva and this house cannot be matched. We are planning to return here with some friends in the future.Thanks for thinking of everything in the design of the place. We hardly left the home for meals but enjoyed RC Otters and a day with a pontoon boat to Barnacle Phil’s.

Thanks so much for sharing your lovely home with us; we have stayed at many lovely places including the Ritz Carlton but this has been by far the most luxurious and comfortable temporary ‘home’ we have vacationed in! We loved the beauty of Captiva, shelling and the beautiful views from your home.Three generations of family, grandparents, children and grandchildren had a wonderful time with all the comforts of home. My son loved your swimming pool and all the toys and we all loved the short walk to the beach. Sunsets were beautiful and the beach was not crowded, not to mention the perfect weather not to humid even in May.We will always have beautiful memories from our stay here.

Tropical Breeze ia a beautiful and amazing place to live. This is the 2nd time we have stayed and this visit was as good as the first. The rooms are very spacious which allows our big family alot of room. The location of the house is perfect from the beach and walking distance from the Bubble Room, RC Otters and all the shops. Ihave so many great memories made here that I will remeber for ever.

I love Tropical Breeze, it is the best! It is the perfect place close to RC Otters and all the other places and really close to the beach. The rooms are so cool. I had the best memorys here.

We have rented a number of luxury houses in Kaula, Park City, Union Pier and have stayed in many others. Tropical Breeze is the best, perfect for our extended family. Our recommendations for dinner include the Keylime Bistro and the Twilight Cafe. The upper deck quickly became the gathering place for cocktails before sunset. The ambience and solitude of Captiva is truly special. Being at the end of a quiet street makes the location perfect for a great family vacation. We have booked again for next year already.

What a perfect place for us to spend a week with our families for a much needed rest. The house was more than we'd hoped for! Huge and spacious-plenty of room for all 10 of us! We had so much fun at the beach, building sandcastles and finding crabs. The pool was so much fun for the kids, and baby Tyler took his very first dip in a swimming pool. We loved walking the beach at sunset, eating at the Island Cow, swinging in the hammock, showering outside, visiting our freind 'The Toad' at the art gallery, and dancing with the kids in your great big living room! The upstairs deck was such a relaxing place to chill out, breakfast on your wicker porch was wonderful and we prepared some great meals in your state of the art kitchen. We could go on and on! Now back to the deep snow and a white christmas in Chicago!!!!!

Actually there is one thing you can do to improve the house- sign it over to us! You guys did an amazing job here. We'll definetly be back. 'Writen on the roof deck at sunset with a glass of chardonnay and some good cheese. Perfect'

Wow! What a fantastic place. Sun, sea, sand, pool, 5 no 7 star accommodations! So much space in the house, walk in closets, huge bathrooms and showers, great kitchen. The decks are another added bonus to take in those breathtaking views over the ocean. We will be back!

Thank you for the use of your wonderful home. We loved all the space, the awesome and colorful decor, and the pool and proximity to the beach. We've been to Sanibel- Captiva many times over the years and Tropical Breeze is the best accomadation yet! Our trips have consisted of relaxing at the pool and beach, having great family times, and of course eating and shopping. Some of our own favourites from this trip- Doc Fords Sanibel Rum Bar, The Green Flash, Island Cow, and the shopping at Perriwinkle Place. The island certainly looks differant after Charley but is still beautiful and inviting. Thanks again.

We had an amazing time and we love the home. We booked again for next year!!! We highly recommend Captain Ron for those who are interested in taking a fishing or shelling trip. We all loved it, see you next year.

Stayed in the house the week of 9-16 2005. (Hurricane Dennis). We have rented several homes on Captiva, this home is one of the very best. It is well equipped right down to providing beach towels and wireless internet. Very spacious. Very short walk for the kids to the beach and several restaurants. The entire family had a great time.

'We are back!' Just as we said we'd be. What a week! lots of fun in the sun. we all had a great time on the beach, in the pool and simply relaxing and enjoying your beautiful home. We'll definately be back next year with a few more additions to our families.

Thank you for sharing your beaytiful home with us. We hope we ill be back soon and so hope we can spend it here at Tropical Breeze. We cannot imagine a more perfect home. Our visits to Captiva are motivated by an oppurtunity to visit with the 'Florida based' part of our family. This is our third family trip to Captiva and Sanibel and probably the best to date, thanks largely to your lovely home. We enjoyed marvelous sunsets from each of your beautiful decks. Swimming, shelling and just walking the beachwere our favourite past times. We also loved the pool. Three generations thank you.

Thank you for sharing your home. We had 4 generations of family from 86 years to 1 year, and the home was wonderful. So much space, and privacy for all. We loved all the vibrant colors in all the bedrooms. The house was so well furnished and comfortable. We would definetly coe again. Thank you.
