This is a great cottage home on an amazing piece of land. 180 degree views of the river, great bird watching, close to town and a well maintained home. We had two under 30 couples and we never felt cramped. The train traffic is not frequent and we slept through it easily. The owner was extremely thoughtful and polite, providing all that we requested. This was our first trip upstate, and we felt we had the best accommodations in town. It was hard to walk away from the tremendous view. We strongly recommend this property and the area as a whole.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My wife and I spent three weeks at this charming cottage in July and August 2011 while I was recording in Woodstock. The location seemed perfect for that but the view took our breath away, a very pleasant surprise. The wildlife was amazing: 21 different birds including a bald eagle, a gold eagle, a scarlet bunting, a doe with three fawns and a big red cat who looked in our window. Natalie Merchant is said to have written a song "Where I Go" about this view when she lived just down the river a bit. I hope what I've written while I was there makes it to the studio next summer.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My wife and I just loved our time at the cottage. The view is truly spectacular, the house is well kept, everything was perfect. There is nothing like waking up and having your coffee overlooking the Catskills and the Hudson! Mind blowing. We would stay there again without hesitation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.
