The Fair Family Home is located in town Alma proper, on a hill overlooking Mt. Bross to the North and the Continental Divide. The home is fairly isolated and backs to the National Forest. Wooded it has a private fire ring for late night festivities, a sitting area for nightly campfires. The home itself is a gorgeous custom home with 2 large bedrooms and a large loft. Each bedroom has a queen size bed and the loft with two queen beds makes for a week of guests or a house full of family. There are two full baths with washer and drier. The period designed kitchen is unique and tastefully decorated in cabin decor.
The views open to Mount Bross from the porch and seclusion around. Living room has two-story windows overlooking the white-capped mountains to Mt. Bross and Hoosier Pass. The deck has custom real tree rails and a great grill for entertaining or just enjoying the beautiful views.
Fair Cabin has the best of both worlds. It is isolated and very wooded with great views while at the same time is within walking distance of Alma's uniqueness. Breckenridge is a quick 20 minute drive where there are additional restaurants and shopping and of course world class skiing and snow boarding. Many of Colorado's famous "fourteeners" are within minutes of the home. You can use it as a base camp for your hiking, 4-wheeling, biking, climbing or snow-shoeing activities. There are many rivers and lakes within minutes for fishing as well. Any outdoor activity you can think of is probably within minutes of the home.

What a great cottage and area to experince Colorado for the first time. This home has amazing views, is comfortable and well appointed for family and friend get togethers. The children spent hours exploring the woods in front of the cottage while the either adults sat admiring the view from the lounge or around the dining table playing games. This cottage is close to Breckenridge , river water rafting, horse riding, picnics at Kite Lake, fishing spots and a beautiful scenic day drive to the Royal Gorge. Alma has it's own charm and is a quaint village where we wandered the streets and stores, did a little shopping, ate, watched the burro racing that occurs every year in the summer and the boys fished in the river below the town. This cottage in Alma is well worth it , my family made awesome memories and still talk about our time there. We will definitely be back to experience more exciting adventures that Colorado will bring and will be staying at the Fair Family Cottage.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

The peaceful beauty of the surroundings of this beautiful mountain cottage with it's unobstructed views is just what me and my friends needed. We grilled out on the wonderful patio, played cards and games at the kitchen table, watched movies in the great den, and sat out by the campfire in the evenings. We couldn't have had a better time. I highly recommend this particular cottage. It's walking distance from local eateries and a quick drive into Breckenridge. It's the best of both worlds, the quiet and beauty of the country withouth being too far from the lifts and nighlife. We will definietly be back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

From the second we walked in the door, we felt at home. Your home is so inviting, comfortable and relaxing! The location is fantastic. We loved sitting in the family room each morning looking out over the meadow and seeing the two foxes playing. Siting on the porch watching the snow roll in or just gazing at the stars while cooking out on the grill is pure heaven! The proximity to Breckenridge was great. We could easily get into town, and never felt as though it was too far away. We actually enjoyed the scenic drive and found it relaxing. Thank you for opening your lovely home to our family. Alma is charming and we look forward to returning.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

While I have visited Colorado on several occasions, my most recent visit to Alma has become the most memorable. Your home was the perfect alpine environment for me and my family. The town is quiet, has access to ski & food supplies, unique eateries, plus a few drinking establishments. My kids enjoyed the woods and meadows around your property for snow ball fights, and the view of the wildlife from within, after dusk. One can see many stars, without the glow of large populations. The wood burning stove, spacious loft, and comfortable décor, provided a great area to relax after our days out and about. My family enjoyed our stay, and look forward to returning for an encore in the near future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.
