Our group of 14 had an amazing time at Bella Vista, with the large deck, large yard, great fire pit, and beautiful atmosphere! Barbara had great recommendations and even a chilled bottle of rose ready for us upon arrival. The horses on the property also added to a beautiful getaway feel. The kitchen was fully stocked with what we needed to cook in every night, and the bedding and towels were lush and comfortable. I highly recommend this beautiful and well-located place for anyone looking to getaway to Oregon wine country!

My husband and I, our two children, their spouses and our two grandsons enjoyed a beautiful weekend at Bella Vista! I highly recommend the home for any group whether it is several couples or a multi-generational family like ours. The country surrounding the home is gorgeous and the view from the back deck was incredible. We were only minutes from town where our niece was married that weekend. We didn't have time to enjoy the local wineries, but hope to go back some day and do so. The house is set up very well and we had plenty of room, never feeling crowded. In fact, we didn't even use one of the bedrooms. The horses were beautiful to watch as their owners worked with them in the arena directly behind the house. Barbara made us very welcome and the home was clean and well stocked with dishes and spices for cooking. We will hopefully be back soon!

I was recently invited to Bella Vista by group of local guests to present my fun and interactive “Willamette Valley Wine Essentials” class at the beginning of their trip. I created the class especially to help visitors get the most out of their wine tasting adventures in the Willamette Valley. Thank you, GUESTS! It was so much fun to bring my class out to the house, and what an enthusiastic group you were. It was interesting to learn what kinds of wines you liked, and then fill you in on all of the luscious wines this Valley produces. I could also tell you were having the same wonderful experience I had when staying at Bella Vista…what a find! The location cannot be beat, as is it convenient to both wine country and Portland, yet quiet and peaceful. The panoramic views of pastures and vineyards are spectacular; and the house is spacious, comfortable and fully-loaded. Barbara does not miss a trick on the amenities. For those future wine enthusiast guests who are interested in a private, personalized opportunity to taste a sample of the Willamette Valley before heading out, I invite you to visit my website at FreeSpiritWines.com for more information. Then contact Barbara for assistance with booking *your* private class. I offer very special pricing for Bella Vista guests. You will love staying at Bella Vista, which lives up to its name and more!

10 of us stayed at Bella Vista this past week, including two small children. The property was fabulous and nicer than the pictures and description online. It surpassed all of my expectations. It was convenient to the city and only minutes from great wineries. The deck and backyard are beautiful and plenty of room for the kids to run and play. The inside is spacious and plenty of room for everyone to be together and have some time by themselves. We lucked out and got a beautiful sunny week-could not be happier. Would absolutely rent again!

Our group of eight old friends, mixed couples and singles, recently chose the Bella Vista House for our annual get-together. We spent a delightful week in this beautiful and comfortable place, enjoying the well-equipped kitchen, the lovely views in all directions, and occasionally the welcome company of our helpful and kind hostess. We tended to go our separate ways---the golfers to Charbonneau, the walkers to Magness Tree Farm with its pleasant, easy trails and nice picnic area. The shoppers found more antique shops and galleries than they could fit into a mere seven days. As we roamed about the countryside we happened on great places for lunch: Sage in McMinnville, Horse Radish in Carlton, and The Blue Goat in Amity. Such a happy visit. So many reasons to return!

Our family visited Bella Vista last week and absolutely loved it. The large deck on the back provided us stunning views as well as the perfect alfresco dining experience. The location is central to the Willamette Valley's outstanding wineries. The house was most comfortable and lovely. We can't wait to go back!

Last month, my daughter was getting married in a nearby town. Rather than rent several hotel rooms for our entire family, her grandparents, aunts and uncles, parents, sister and maids of honor all stayed in this one beautiful, serene and spacious location! When we arrived, we were greeted with crackers, wine and various cheeses. The owner had thought of everything to make us feel warmly welcomed! The large and well-equipped kitchen and large outdoor grill allowed us to prepare family meals and "cook up special" things as we anticipated the wedding day. Multiple bedrooms with comfy mattresses and bedding made it so that we could be separate in our togetherness. And the lovely countryside afforded walks, gorgeous views from the deck, and deep breaths of fresh air. Our stay was excellent--thanks to the owner and the wonderful, joyful setting which provided a very special venue for a very special occasion in our life. We highly recommend this awesome vacation home. Thank you!

Great home with all the amenities you could want or need. Nice views out of many windows, a great deck for gathering for meals or coffee in the morning. Also, to our amazement, we were able to open the windows and breathe the fresh mountain air for our entire stay. We love the location, outside the bustle of Portland but near restaurants, wineries, and a farmers market. The owner lives on the premises and was helpful with any questions. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!

I rented Bella Vista for a Bachelorette weekend - 15 ladies! We were so comfortable and happy, it really could not have been better. Barbara's attention to detail and hospitality was so welcoming and special. She had 2 delicious bottles of rose with cheese and crackers waiting for us when we arrived. There really is no better way to kick off a weekend in wine country. She's lived in this area for quite some time and is highly connected to many of the local wineries. To top it all off - we went country line dancing our first night there and she alerted her good friend who was also there that night, so my girlfriends and I were twirled around the dance floor by a great local dancer!!!

My extended family and I spent 2 weeks here in June and we loved it. Barbara is a very gracious host and she went out of her way to make sure we had all the information we need to enjoy our stay in the area. The house and grounds are very well kept and the kids, and our dog, enjoyed the horses, the dog, the cat, and the chickens. The property is centrally located for a lot of the sights and activities and very convenient to some of the best local wine tasting venues. We had a delightful, relaxing stay at Bella Vista.

Each year for the past 10+ years eight of us (4 couples) gather for a wine weekend extravaganza in one of California's many wine regions. But for this year's organizer, a self confessed pinotphile, there was only one choice - Oregon's wondrous Willamette Valley. What a treat! And the Bella Vista Inn was the perfect place to call home for the Memorial Day weekend. The inn, a split level ranch on 5 acres in the heart of horse country is an easy 30" drive from the Portland airport. All the rooms have been redecorated so the living area and master bedroom are not as they appear on this web site. The new look is sophisticated and elegant but still completely comfortable. We loved relaxing on the patio or by the firepit at night sipping our pinot (what else?) and absorbing lessons in astronomy by our resident expert. Our hostess, Barbara, gave us great recommendations on wineries to visit (White Rose and Di Ponte among the favorites) and restaurants (Recipe in Newberg). For our Friday night arrival, she also graciously prepared an outstanding appetizer platter for a nominal charge. On Sunday we dined in, grilling copper river salmon on cedar planks. The kitchen is nicely equipped which made cooking in a great option. My only suggestion (and this is for all homeaway hosts), please leave written instructions for operating the TV and any other electronic devices with multiple remotes. The Bella Vista Inn was a great find!

Bella Vista was an ideal location for our first ever Oregon wine touring weekend. The house suited our group perfectly and the beds were super comfortable. Barbara was amazingly helpful and her knowledge of the local wineries allowed our group of Canadians to have an experience we could have never found on our own. Once you see the view you'll know exactly why this place is called Bella Vista!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home. The beds are so comfy that we emailed the owner to find out the brand! Clean, spacious home with a beautiful view. Very quiet and close to everything. Went for nice long runs in the morning and did many wine tastings at the many wineries close by. We have already booked our stay for the fall.

It is nice when things are as good as they seem. This was my first experience renting a house for vacation. I checked out several places on this site and finally decided upon Bella Vista. The photos and description sounded great, but it is still hard to know if the place will live up to the description. Well, the place is fantastic and we were incredibly pleased! The home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The view from the back deck is just gorgeous. It was also a nice touch that Barbara, the owner, had wine and cheese waiting for us. She also left us some farm fresh eggs. What a treat. Barbara was very willing to make suggestions on wineries and restaurants. Take advantage of her knowledge because there are so many wineries to choose from that it can be overwhelming! She set up two appointments for us and then had other good suggestions. The home is an easy drive from Portland and a great location for exploration of the wineries. The other couple we were traveling with left the planning to me. They had rented vacation homes previously, but said this place was the best place they had ever stayed. I would definitely stay at Bella Vista again.

Bella Vista was the perfect place for our girl's getaway! The house has an amazing layout and is really spacious and beautiful and immaculately clean and well taken care of. The kitchen had everything we needed and we cooked several wonderful meals while we stayed there. It's set on a gorgeous mountain with beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes. Barbara was so helpful from the first time I contacted her. We were greeted at the house with complimentary wine, cheese, and crackers, which was very welcome after our long drive. Barbara also set up a tasting for us at the nearby winery, Qualihurst, which was the highlight of our trip! It was great to have Barbara help us out since January is the off-season for wine-tasting and she made sure that wineries would be open to welcome us. I would definitely stay there again on my next trip to the Oregon wine country!

I could not think of a nicer place to spend my birthday with friends than the Belle Vista Holiday Home. The owner, Barbara had everything spotless with fruits and wine laid out for our arrival. We so enjoyed our time with Barbara and her friends. She directed us on tours, hikes and wine tasting excursions. We had 4 couples staying at the Bella Vista and had plenty of room for all. It is a fabulous property in a slice of the country that is majestic yet down to earth. I will wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend both Barbara and her Belle Vista Holiday Home to anyone who enjoys both comfort and adventure. ..... Barry

Barbara has created such a warm and welcoming vacation spot. The home is lovely, very comfortable and extremely well appointed. She provided us with great recommendations for winery tours, dining opportunities and exploring the area. Dinners at the Painted Lady and Farm to Fork restaurants were wonderful. If you have time, be sure to attend a wine tasting at The Quailhurst winery across the road. The setting is spectacular and the wine was pretty great also! We hope to return again next year for a longer visit. - Thanks for a great time Barbara!! -

This was truly the perfect vacation for our family: two adults and 6 kids ranging from 8 to 19. The house is beautiful, large enough that we all had our space, and cozy enough that we all enjoyed being together, watching movies, playing games, or sitting on the deck reading and listening to the sounds of the farm. The location is close to Portland so it was easy to do a day trip to OMSI or downtown (about a 40 min drive) but you'd never know it because it really is insulated from any urban feeling; it's beautiful countryside. Being on a working horse farm is something that you won't get anywhere else. I could barely believe it when 4 of the kids (including the 8 year old) got themselves up at 7:30, ate breakfast, and then spent two hours mucking horse stalls. And they LOVED it. They helped almost every morning we were there, plus sometimes in the evenings too. And each kid had their turn getting a horseback lesson. The kids still can't stop talking about their vacation here and I think they won't let us go anywhere else. And us adults? It was a great place to relax, quiet and serene. Barbara is wonderful host; she welcomed our entire family (she even had jellybeans and sparkling cider waiting for us). We highly recommend Bella Vista as a vacation away from it all. And if you are a horse person, watch out, you'll want to stay forever.

6 of us stayed at Bella Vista for a week. The house is spacious, very, comfortable and centrally located in the wine country. The kitchen is very modern with all the necessary appliances to cook a fine meal. Of course, there are many fine restaurants close by. Waking each morning to views of vineyards, and horses in the yard was a special treat. Barbara was very helpful arranging visits to wineries, and restaurants. This house and property are a GREAT value. We very much enjoyed our stay at Bella Vista and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the wine country in Oregon.

Bella Vista is an excellent place to stay while visiting the area. The house was impeccably clean and the location was convenient for exploring the area. Barbara and Andy helped us with any needs that we had and suggested vineyards and restaurants. I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone visiting the area. We were 3 couples exploring the area for the first time and had more than enough room the spread out in the house or on the deck and relax in a peaceful and quiet setting. No disappointments here!

This is an absolutely amazing place to stay. The pics don't do it justice. The house is beautiful and big, yet comfy. The bathrooms have all the amenities, including high end products. The kitchen is fully stocked with herbs, utensils, and all you need to make meals. There's also a very nice grill on the deck - which is where we made and enjoyed most meals. The views out there of the hills and riding arena are great. And on top of it all, Barbara is a lovely human. She made our stay perfect. She booked wine tours and dinner reservations at special places. She made recommendations. She even made sure we had coffee to drink in the mornings! And Andy let us pick fresh veggies from the organic garden out front. They both went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. I have rented many properties over the years and never met owners like them. They are very special people and we can't recommend this property highly enough.

We spent one week at this unbelievable rental home, with extended family (4 adults) Barbara and Andy were both an excellent source of information, they answered our one million and one questions. It is definitely one of the most picturesque locations imaginable. Everything was perfect making the vacation much more relaxing and enjoyable for us all. We did dine out a few nights but hated to leave the property. It was so easy to prepare home-cooked meals, and used the grill on the deck. (the kitchen had everything we needed). We did spent a lot of time on the back deck with beautiful views, and a storybook setting. . All the rooms were spacious, and perfectly decorated and very clean. We rented a car, and I definitely recommend doing so. There were many nearby grocery and shopping options in the area. . We easily drove wherever we wanted. We enjoyed all the sights and activities including the Oregon Country Fair, while staying at a beautiful and comfortable home! Bella Vista was simply THE BEST!

Our group of 4 adults enjoyed an amazing week at Bella Vista. All the excellent amenities of this home that were mentioned by previous reviewers are absolutely true. Every room in the home is luxuriously decorated. The beds are extremely comfortable. The kitchen has every possible appliance and gadget you could need or want. We absolutely loved having our meals on the large back deck overlooking beautiful horses, vineyards, Christmas tree farms and rolling pastures. We were lucky enough to be there over July 4th and were privileged to watch a great fireworks display shot from the back pasture along with four other displays in the distance. You could not ask for a better place to start your day or to return to after a long day of wine tasting, sightseeing, hiking, etc. The location is perfect for touring Willamette Valley, the coast, the mountains, and you are literally surrounded by vineyards. As quiet and beautiful the scenery is at the house, you are only 5-10 minutes away from supermarkets, restaurants, and all the conveniences. We tasted some of the best wines on the market during this trip but our favorite was Quailhurst Vineyard, across the street from Bella Vista. The private tour and tasting that Barbara set up for us was unbelievable. It was so good we even joined their wine club. Even with the wonderful house, amenities and location, what makes Bella Vista so very special are the two people who welcome you into their home. Barbara and Andy truly made us feel like we were honored guests. They made our visit go from an A to an A+. Andy even has an organic garden on the property and allowed us to pick fresh veggies and strawberries every day for our meals. We were very spoiled. We've rented many vacation homes over the years and can truly say this was one of the best. We are looking forward to coming back to Willamette Valley, possibly during harvest time, and would not stay anywhere else but here. We loved every minute of our stay.

This was a couples' weekend to celebrate a birthday and an anniversary ( we were 8 adults and 2 teenagers) and what a great choice! The house has been remodeled recently, so everything is clean and fresh. Everything in it's place and of good/high quality. The pictures are exactly how the house looks, only it feels even better when you get there. Barbara, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful with suggestions and even reservations. The tour of the winery a few meters up the road was fantastic; Quailhurst is a gem! Would love to go back and would definitely recommend to friends and family.

My family and I stayed at Bella Vista over Mother's Day weekend and truly enjoyed the area. Barbara, the owner, was incredibly helpful with directions, dining options, specific amenities of the well-stocked home, and nearby wineries. She even arranged for a private tasting at neighboring Quailhurst Winery that proved to be a highlight of our trip, simply amazing grounds and impeccable stables! The home very comfortably accommodated 7 adults and 3 children, with great beds and; although, we brought our own, a portable crib. Traveling with small children, we enjoyed the large yard, free range chickens, and especially the horses! We were even fortunate enough to be able to watch Barbara during a dressage lesson in the riding arena in the back yard, she is a very accomplished rider. We would definitely recommend this listing to friends and book with Barbara again.

Our stay at Bella Vista turned a milestone life event - our son's college graduation, into a most memorable gathering of family and friends. The house was exquisite, comfortable and inviting. The barns were the cleanest I have ever seen. As nice as they were, it was the special touches that impressed everyone in our party throughout our entire stay. From the delicious wine and cheese that welcomed us at check in to the abundantly stocked and well equipped kitchen; from the amazingly comfortable beds to the complete communication package of internet, sound system and cable t.v.; from every imaginable toiletry to the large soft towels; from a large barbecue to the gorgeous back deck - our expectations were exceeded. We look forward to an excuse to pass by this part of the country again so we can stay at Bella Vista.

We live in New York City; two of our children and their families live in Portland, OR. We wanted to rent a house near Portland but still in the country, to spend some vacation time all together. This house was really perfect for our three-generation family. The rooms are large and as clean and well-furnished as can be. The beds are totally comfortable. The kitchen is amazing, with everything you could possibly need, and everything was where you'd expect it to be -- no hunting around for pots or paper towels or spices. And the shampoos and other stuff in the bathrooms were divine. We went in April and had a great day together at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm nearby. Also the children loved seeing the horses who live right behind the house. We were all looking forward to going hiking, tour wineries, and visit restaurants in the wine country, but unfortunately my husband fell ill and we had to cut our stay short. The owner was extremely solicitous for his health and made a lot of calls on our behalf. (Happy to say he is home and recovering nicely.) Thank you Barbara! To sum up: we would certainly return to this lovely place again!

Beautiful home and setting, just as described. This lovely home has everything you would need for a relaxing vacation. The highlight of our trip was the tour and tasting at the Quailhurst vineyard. I would highly recommend this house and would definitely stay here again.

First of all, Barbara is an AMAZING hostess! We (4 of us) were in town on business and made the PERFECT choice in staying at this home instead of getting a hotel. Barbara made sure we had all the necessities (coffee!!, wine, cheese, etc) before we arrived. We just couldn't get over the views. The house is so well appointed - really just beautiful - the pictures she has out here don't do it justice AT ALL! She arranged a private wine tour across the street - that was the most AMAZING wine tour I have even taken. The estate was just amazing - and the wine superb!! The owner himself showed us around - the horse stables are floor to ceiling mahogany - stunning. We saw a beautiful rainbow that I swear ended right on the property! Just don't forget your phone chargers (seems like we were the 4th in a row to do so!). Of course if you do - she is just sweet enough to mail them back to you!! If we make it back from the east coast - we will definitely stay here again! Thank you Barbara !

My son was getting married nearby and we needed a home for several couples and singles. I looked on vrbo for the perfect spot for us and found it! Barbara was super easy to work with on the rental details and I wasn't disappointed when we arrived. She personally showed us around the home and acquainted us with where things were located. The home itself was spotless, spacious, and so comfortable, with a fully stocked kitchen (the welcome bottle of wine, crackers and brie were very appreciated!) and expansive front room. I really loved the personal touches of fresh flowers throughout the home. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated and had luxe bedding! We took the huge master bedroom and it was the perfect retreat when I needed a break from the bustle. I don't know that I've ever slept on a more comfortable bed, and through the open window I could hear the frogs and crickets at the pond down across the pasture- my favorite night sounds! The grounds were quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed visiting the horses and hens (no roosters!). I wish we had been able to enjoy the nice deck overlooking the rolling hills dotted with vineyards and conifers, but it was a busy weekend. The next time we head up that way I'll be calling Barbara again!

WOW!! This house has it all! Barbara has gone above and beyond in making this a extraordinary vacation rental. The house is well appointed from designer stoneware and stemware in the kitchen to plush luxurious towels in the baths. Barbara also has done a beautiful job with decorating, choosing beautiful furnishings throughout the home. Needless to say we were very comfortable at Bella Vista. We also took Barbara up on some of her suggestions on winerys. She was very helpful in arranging a private tour for us at a very exclusive estate, Quailhurst, it was by far the highlight of our wine tasting weekend. Go, enjoy, and relax at Bella Vista.

The photos of the house only tell part of the story The owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Four couples shared the house and there was enough room for ALL of us in the living areas. The kitchen was able to accommodate four women cooking and it was furnished with spices, coffee, tea. Wonderful wineries were suggested and visited. However, we all enjoyed the sights and food in the area.

This property is fantastic! We had a nice quiet weekend of girl talk, wine tasting and good food. Barbara was extremely helpful and the house is topped off with the perfect finishing touches. It is beautifully decorated, clean, very comfortable and spacious. Barbara was very helpful in recommendations and assisting in setting up appointments. We were warmly welcomed with a personal tour of the home and a very nice touch of wine and cheese to get our weekend started. Thanks Barbara for making the short weekend so special!

Bella Vista, appropriately named, describes my stay during Winter Solstice. Being there in the day, walking the property releases one into an open earthy paradise from everyday routine, my goal on vaca. The view, air, space invites unpretentious exhilarating relaxation. What a recharge. The peaceful ambiance continues once the front door is opened, I enjoyed a well appointed kitchen that led out to a huge deck where Andy and Barbara hosted a Salmon grill on the new bbq. The hosts graciously stuck around per my request to get me comfortably aquainted with the clean, beautifully furnished place. After sunset the Super Harvest Moon surrounded by cloudscapes hung low in the sky over the fire as we sipped and ate the best meal. BV on Pleasant Hill, Sherwood, Oregon was a time and place I'll always treasure.

We couldn't be more pleased with our accommodations during our recent stay. It was everything Barbara described and more - a plethora of special touches too numerous to list. Take her recommendations and you're sure to have a great time. We'll be back to enjoy more of the area and wouldn't consider going anywhere else. Thanks for the memories Barbara, Andy and Bacio!

My wife and I recently concluded a very enjoyable stay at Bella Vista. Having stayed at many VRBO properties all over the world, we found this property to be everything it was billed as and more. We were particularly pleased with the personal touches around the home and the engaging personality of the owner, Barbara. She understood our quest for adventure, wine and fine dinning meeting each challenge with gusto. Whether it be for a family get together, a couples retreat or simply a weekend getaway, both my wife and I would highly recommend Belle Vista as a wonderful place to stay.

We stayed here with a group of friends and found the place spacious, very clean and well appointed. The property is peaceful and sceneic yet not far ( 3 to 10 miles, you'll want a vehicle) from groceries, dining, and wine tasting. Barbara is a wonderful host and is very helpful with ideas on exploring the area. We will return.

This was a great place for our family to get together! We live in three different states and we needed a place where we could all be together and enjoy each other's company. This was a perfect place for that. Large living and dining area, great kitchen and plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms made just the right place for us. We enjoyed the spacious deck, bar-b-que grill, fire pit, and the outdoor space. It was fun for our grandchildren to see the horses and the chickens. Thank you for a wonderful place to visit!

My extended family is spread across the country and staying on this property was such a great getaway. The two toddlers loved watching the horses and running around outside and the adults enjoyed the space and the ability to be together. It is a country atmosphere that is so close to all the city amenities. We would recommend this vacation spot to anyone!

My mother rented the house so we could all be together. We were 5 adults and 2 children on a family vacation. Not only did my children get to see my brother and my parents(which they hadn't seen since Christmas) the house was so comfortable, clean and laid out perfectly. We all had a room and no one felt like they were on top of one another. The location was wonderful, the views amazing and the horses beautiful. We loved it so much that we were ready to move in! Barbara is such a wonderful kind and giving person that we found ourselves wanting to visit with her as well. My daughter loved seeing the horses and we had the best family vacation that we have ever had! We will return again and again and again. This is a must rental if you are looking in this area.

Our extended family (including a two year old) spent Thanksgiving in this lovely house. There is plenty of room in the kitchen and living room for gathering together, and enough bedrooms and bathrooms for all. Decor and amenities are excellent, we were thrilled to meet the horses and chickens. Barbara took the time to familiarize us with the home and the area and set up a fantastic private wine tour that was one of the highlights of the visit. The weather did not permit us to sit on the deck, but we would have loved it. The Willamette Valley is a beautiful area, besides the Pinot Noir! Portland is not too far for a dinner out, or shopping at Powell's bookstore. We're planning to return!
