"This condo best spot on Maui" - Sorry to have to leave another great two weeks here in Maui! Saw lots of turtles, dolphins and even spotted a couple of early whales! Weather was 80 degrees and sunny and windy only one evening of rain during our trip. High surf on the 27th with lots of surfers outside our deck. Enjoyed our dinners ("in") here at condo with bbq's at poolside and take out from Okazuya Deli up the road. Loved the condo and hospitality. Thanks Carrie and Russ! Only suggestion: would be a firmer mattress...until next time. Mahalo! PS. Great meal at "Honu!"

LOVED your beautiful condo! This was our 7th time staying on Maui and at the Mahana in as many years, but it was our 1st time booking through vrbo. The experience and your lovely condo, exceeded our expectations. We love to cook and dine on the lanai when staying at the Mahana. Your very well equipped kitchen and the lighting, ceiling fan, and candles on the lanai made that so much more enjoyable. We loved the "pay it forward" plan and have left behind some items that hopefully, your next guests will find useful. We certainly hope to return to the Mahana next year and, hopefully, to this condo. Aloha and Mahalo.

Beautifully decorated, wonderful amenities and not a locked cabinet or door - Thank You. A comfortable home to come back to each day. 14 years staying at the Mahana, this unit sets the standard, it will be our first choice from here on out. May be back in April to whale watch. We came celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. What a gorgeous condo - as beautiful as we saw on vrbo plus all the wonderful special touches and extras Russ and Carrie provide. Saw turtles from balcony, snorkeled with turtles next door, enjoyed Hawaiian music at Duke's many evenings. Gorgeous drive to Haleakula. God blessed us with two gorgeous weeks. Thank you Carrie and Russ for your amazing care and concern while we were here! We will highly recommend your condos and hope we can come again!

Our stay was amazing, the view from the apartment is breathtaking just to have the ocean put you to sleep was peaceful. Paying it forward is a great idea that we will use in the future! You really added a highlight to our "honeymoon". Great apartment just to come home and relax after a day of activities. We will be coming back soon, thank you for all the memories.

Aloha! our stay has been absolutely amazing. The condo is wonderful, and the updates you have made are the icing on top of the cake. Mahalo for the "pay it forward" attitude - we loved having a few essentials and extras here and have left a few in return. Some of the highlights of our trip were beach-hopping the south shore and west maui, snorkeling at Honolua and Kapalua, the Road to Hana (hunt for Red Sand Beach in Hana - worth the short hike!), and dining at Mama's Fish House (best meal we've ever eaten, stuffed mahi was delicious). The snorkeling just south of the condo was also great. We have made memories we will cherish forever and look forward to returning (hopefully)!) many times. Warm regards.

As many others have pointed out, Carrie and Russ have one heck of a spectacular condo here. We were enticed by the photos we found and let me tell you, they didn't photo-shop anything. The unit is right out of an interior design book -- the example of "here's how a room-scape should look". Every little detail is given attention, everything flows. It has a great sense of fang shui, every piece seems to be in the right place. We LOVED our stay here, so much we hope to return years down the road for whale season. Our hope is that Carrie and Russ remain owners of this unit so we can return to this little piece of heaven on earth called, Maui. Advice? Do everything, Haleakala, Road to Hana, snorkel and EAT! We're off to Kauai to round off our 2 week stay in Hawaii. We started out by getting married on Kapalua Bay Beach on 7/2/11 and have had nothing but a spectacular experience on Maui. This room is special to us and I'm sure you will feel the same. The bar is set HIGH for Kanai Beach Resort. Mahalo!

We are just wrapping up our stay here in Maui for our honeymoon. We were So impressed with this unit from the moment we stepped foot in the door. The interior is amazing from the furnishings and appliances to the extra goodies hidden in every nook and cranny. All of this on top of the breathtaking views from the lanai made for a great experience! Mahalo to Carrie and Russ for going above and beyond with their unit. We are going to miss falling asleep to the sound of the ocean.

We have made several trips to Hawaii and Maui specifically but this was the first time staying in a condo. Our family stays at the Mahana regularly so we looked up some units on the internet. This one seemed excellent from the pictures and description. The reality was so much more. We love the furnishings/decor particularly the oriental influence. It is so peaceful and relaxing just sitting, watching the ocean. There seems to be a resident turtle that came on a daily basis each afternoon. Love the kitchen but not much of a chance to use it that much. We would definitely come back here.

This was our 3rd trip to Hawaii and the first time not in a resort. What an amazing and relaxing choice we made. Your unit was better than we anticipated and the location was perfect. We too were grateful for the "non-resort" feel and would definitely return to this unit again!!

Dear Russ and Carrie, Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamed of coming to Hawaii - this year I turned 50 and I decided it was about time I made my dream come true...For Christmas I brought my son and daughter to beautiful Maui and to your lovely condo! Wow! What a gorgeous condo you have. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world to be able to stay for a week in such lovely accommodations!! We loved going to sleep and waking up to the sound of rolling waves. Your kitchen is equipped with everything and then some...and the decor of the beautiful condo makes for such a lovely, soothing refuge at the end of a play day on the beach! My children and I loved every moment of our stay and I am so grateful to enjoy a week of Heaven here on Maui.

We feel so incredibly fortunate to have rented a place that was just at the ocean's edge where the sound of the waves were a delicious lullaby twenty four hours a day. It's closeness to the ocean and the fact that it is a place where one can find their own pace in the area without a lot of resort hype and commotion made it especially appealing. Our stay has been a total treat! Thank you.

My husband and I absolutely LOVED this condo! It has everything you could possibly need (except for a shot glass, so I got you one) and everything is first class from the furnishings to the appliances. This is definitely the nicest condo I have ever rented. The Mahana is a wonderful and very well cared for building right on the beach. The bbq's by the pool are wonderful. Mahalo!

You have a beautiful condo - we couldn't believe how close we were to the ocean. A great location to run in the morning, beautiful beach walks, ocean swimming, etc. It was a great location for our day trips to Hana, Haleakala & Molokini. We had a lovely dinner at Spago's - Four Season's the last night. A week went by way too fast - it's hard to leave Maui as we return to cold weather & snow. Mahalo

We loved the condo. It was relaxing and we really enjoyed ourselves. The view of the ocean was spectacular. We loved snorkeling right in front of the condo any time we wanted. We even seen sea turtles swimming, that was pretty neat. We can not wait till we can return, soon... Would love to come later in the year to see the whales next time. Myself and my girlfriend searched through alot of sites to find a place to stay until we finally settled on the Mahana 1008. The unit is fantastic. Its very clean, very well kept, modern, facilities are top notch and the view is stunning, amazing sunsets every evening. We flew long distance so wanted to make sure we got it right and by staying in 1008 we definatley did. We would definatley return! The photos and listing details are very accurate, the place is better in person. For those wanting to go into the neighbouring towns, you can easily walk along the beach to Whalers village (about 30mins walk) or simply get the Maui Bus which runs usually every hour and is a dollar for the run. It was very useful and something we were not aware of before we went. All in all we are delighted we chose to stay here and, as mentioned above, would definatley go back. Thanks Carrie & Russ :)
