The house was spacious and beautiful. It was well set up for a visit with family or some quiet time on your own to read a book or listen to music. It was close to Asheville and local activities. The beds were comfortable and the house was clean and just a great place to be. I loved the kitchen.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My husband and I recently stayed at this vacation home with 3 other couples on our first time in Asheville. We truly felt like we were out in the wilderness staying at this home with the gorgeous mountain views off the back deck. Yet it still very accessible to downtown and I-240(~3miles). It was so much more than we expected! The master suite was unbelievable! The house itself is beautiful and very tastefully decorated, and the little extras they provide really make you feel at home. Thank you Bud for sharing your amazing home! -EmilyRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

It was a great location close to town, the Biltmore, and the Grove Park Inn, and with views. The fireplace/great room was the central point of our stay with plenty of seating for talking and games. The kitchen was nicely stocked with pots, pans, etc. There were plenty of linens, and the house was clean. The owner responded immediately to a question. The property was represented correctly in the ad and in the pictures. Everyone could find a corner if they wanted to. We had a great time! I would definitely recommend this property to others.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My family and I stayed in this home mid Nov. I was attending a conference at the Grove Park but have 2 kids and did not feel the Grove Park was suitable for them :) This was perfect! Proximity to Grove Park, Downtown, Biltmore was great basically 10min to everything :) House was very clean, no pet hair or bad smells :) Plenty of linens and the neighborhood felt safe and friendly people. I will say that if this were mid winter I would be skeptical as the drive up the mountain is trecherous and ice/snow would make traveling up and down hazardous. The only "bad" point for us was there is no are to "play" outside if the kids wanted to go out and kick the ball and run a little..you are ON the mountain so land is limited:) but there are cool parks close by..overall we had a great week and would stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Tracy -- thanks for the review. I would like to note that Town Mountain Road (the steep drive up) is a NC highway (NC 694) and gets priority by the City of Asheville for plowing during snow storms. And although it is a climb, it is actually not an unusual climb for the Western NC area.

This home is beautiful AND comfortable, modern and well-appointed in every way! The pictures really don't do the home justice! The location is perfect as it is only 5 minutes from downtown Asheville yet secluded enough in Town Mountain that you feel that you are away from it all! We were only there for a weekend but would love to return for a longer stay. Bud was extremely nice and easy to work with..... I would definitely recommend this house.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The location is essentially in downtown Asheville with great access to city and parkway. We were up before the leaves came in and were able to get a great view of the surrounding mountains. House has plenty of space for a group with very nice furnishings. High ceilings and wood finish really accentuate the house. The house is well valued and we have definitely recommended it to our friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We came to Asheville for a girls weekend. Bud was so easy to work with in the planning process. Everyone was so excited when we saw the house for the first time. The house was very clean and organized, and not to mention beautiful. We have already talked about taking our significant others for an Asheville vacation. Thank you again for letting us use your home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This house was even better than we had thought. It was perfect for our family gathering. The listing was accurate, and the photos accurately reflected the house. The house was clean and well-maintained, and Bud, the owner, was more than helpful. He even gave us a weather report before we arrived! We would highly recommend this property to friends and relatives. Thank you for providing the beautiful home for memories to last a lifetime!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The house was even better than the description and the photos! The location was amazing being fairly remote but close to all downtown attractions and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Everything was in good working order and very clean. The owner was very easy to work with and helpful. I would highly recommend this property...our family cannot wait to return!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About the owner: My wife and I live and work in Durham but love Asheville and the mountains. It's all here, from the fun, eclectic downtown atmosphere and restaurants to the incredible beauty of the NC Blue Ridge. We bought the house originally as our residence but economic realities took us away from our beloved Asheville. We have a local property manager who lives in Asheville and handles most of the property logistics for us.
Why the Owner Chose Asheville:
You just can't get more convenient. It's 5 minutes down Town Mountain to get to downtown, and less than 10 minutes to get to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Hiking trails abound. Check out Mountain Express (do a web search) for a sampling of current events and activities. There are numerous white water rafting companies. Horseback riding is available. It's a great area for road and mountain biking riding.
