Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Chris and Alison Vooris. We love traveling and exploring new places. We love the Eastern Shore because of its beauty, wildlife, and quiet lifestyle.
Why the Owner Chose Centreville
This was our first family home when we moved to the Eastern Shore 25 years ago. It was in a perfect location for walking everywhere and living in a rural place and yet only a short distance from Washington DC, Baltimore and Annapolis. In the summer we could easily get to the Eastern Shore Beaches for a day trip.

not clean.... not happy

This house had character. The pictures actually did it justice! The pictures did not show the massive spider webs throughout house. Coffee left in microwave from God knows when. Dirty dishes, floors, sinks, etc. The house was obviously not cleaned before we arrived. The bathroom sink had hair in it. I was not happy with the stay.... I'm not a neat freak, but this house wasn't clean at all. The ladder on the roof makes me think the roof leaks. There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, dirty utensils on the grill, and coffee in the microwave. Not to mention all of the spiders that I killed. If I knew of another place that would have accepted pets... I would have packed up and moved to that place, the first day. I was disgusted with the house, completely!! I don't mind old, or character.... but I DO mind filth!! I would NOT recommend this house to anyone! I just can't tell you enough how UNHAPPY I was with this house!!! It was a quiet neighborhood, not a bad yard.... it would be an okay place to stay... if it were clean! But I couldn't do it! Not again!! You know what they say about first impressions!!! The only thing that I liked about this house... was the easy commute to DC!!
Owner response:Sorry you felt that way about our house. We pride ourselves in it being clean but it does have oldness and character and not everything is perfect. We keep our rates low due to that fact. We have rented this house now for nearly two years and have had families return so I apologize that your stay did not meet to your satisfaction!

My husband and I came in the fall of 2010 and it was beautiful. I enjoyed the character of home and area. The home was very clean and had just about everything. The thing I remember (if correct) is we only found one frying pan. Earlier that day, we went to farm and bought fresh veges, etc and had to wait to cook/saute each one before eating as dish..lol It was a nice home, not far from family...just perfect. :)
Owner response:Thanks for your review. Your were right there was only one frying pan in 2010. Since then we have added kitchen utensils including a large frying pan and a set of sharp knives. Glad you enjoyed your stay!

The house was very spacious and clean. I loved the old charm feel of it including the quilts and decor. Centreville is a nice small town and it felt like home. One complaint was that with just one TV and 3 kids, they squabbled in the evening about what to watch but hey, we shouldn't be watching tv on vacation. We were about an hour away from Baltimore and DC so it was further than we would have liked, but for the price and the spaciousness, it was worth it.
Owner response:Thanks for your review. Great suggestion about second TV. We will look in to that but glad you enjoyed the space and layout of the house,

We stumbled across this house by happenstance and although our trip was short it far exceeded our expectations. Your recommendation of Doc's was key....we had a fun night (maybe too much fun) We hope to make it back this way again. We greatly enjoyed staying in your beautiful home. Thank you for your hospitality.
