Newly remodeled Home on Exclusive North End Sayulita!
Casa Tranquillo is so lovely and graceful, that when you sit on the terrace, you wont want to be anywhere else....The expansive ocean view includes a long stretch of rugged coastline, the palm-lined beach, as well as the lagoon where the fishermen of Sayulita moor their boats.
On the land side, Casa Tranquillo sits directly beside a wild and completely undeveloped jungle canyon. The ocean breezes are nearly constant, and you can fall to sleep to the gentle sound of waves breaking on the shore. At night, the lights of Sayulita glitter.
The sunsets are magnificent.
Casa Tranquillo features three totally separate, private bedrooms two have adjoining baths. Two bedrooms open directly onto the patio in front of the ocean, and not only has a gorgeous ocean view, but looks out as well into the wild jungle canyon. The house can sleep six people in style, and if needed, cots for children can be set up in the bedroom.
Casa Tranquillo offers luxury furnishings , you will find fine hardwood furniture from Malaysia. There are original paintings on the walls and you will love to hang out on the beachfront terrace...
Casa Tranquillo would be the perfect place for a honeymoon. But if you aren’t on your honeymoon, why not treat yourself to this anyway.

Had a wonderful time- relaxing being right beside the beach. The only "complaints" I have is: coffee maker does not work, and the fact we where there at the beginning of Semana Santa. Not much can be done about the campers and noise during that time, but it would have been nice to have been better prepared. There was no barricade to the property and we had to create one with old bricks and pieces of found wood. There was an attempted break-in and several wander's up into the property to use it as a bathroom. The first night we had to ward off a drunk man who repeatedly tried to cross the barricade, but really he was harmless. The property manager was reponsive and helpful, but a warning beforehand would have been nice. Otherwise, on any other week, it is amazing & we would definitely go again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: "semana santos" is like spring break for Mexicans...they all go to the beach and not much you can do about it if you dont like crowds maybe its best to stay away that week...i will look at the coffee maker, i owe you free coffee next time :)

The attention to cleanliness and a well mainttained place along with provisioning of this privately owned property, the owner made it perfectly clear that he sincerely wants his customers to have a memorable stay even though its not a luxury place it still felt like the cozy beach house is was intended to be. This is simply the most cool spot my wife and I have seen in 20 years of travel. Grab a bottle of wine from the store across the street from the plaza, put it in the fridge and watch the fishing boats go off in the sunset from your patio...lots of pelicans looking for breakfast over the waves... What’s better than that? The terrace is about the best place in sayulita and you can just sit there for hours –will there be anything else, sir? Oh ….you can have the restaurant down the street bring up any of three meals a day. . What a great spot and we will for sure be back next year if the owner will have us ...book early as i think this is the best bargain in town It is about a 10 minute walk along the beach to the town square, you can see it from the terrace but you cant hear it! its perfect...Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children.

Myself, my husband, and our 4 month old baby traveled to Sayulita and stayed at this cottage house - which was a great experience, and we had an amazing vacation! the management was amazing in providing us with information on the location and was very prompt with his replies. He was also vacationing at the same time as us and met us upon arrival. Location - we were unsure about traveling with a baby to sayulita, but the location was great. It was very close to everything - 5 min walk to the downtown beach (walk over small bridge and then cross main street in townv), 15 min walk to private beaches that seem to go on forever and its just a short drive to bucerias to the Mega supermarket other groceries/chain eating places). It was close to everything, but off the main strip so it wasn't loud! We also drove the puerto vallarta, about 1hrs which was a great trip with a baby! house - was very clean and up to date on most stuff.... Had everything you would need in the kitchen. They also provided sun chairs and a sun umbrella which came in very handy for us with our baby! the management also offered to have a playpen setup with sheets for our use (but we brought our own). I also believe the couch was a pull out. Wireless internet throughout the house which was great! very quiet. We never used the gym - but seemed like great additions to the town...the gym was just a short walk! We rented a car and it was always easy to find a spot to park in town - which was handy with our stroller (just a small step if you exited at the side). All in all, a great house, everyone was very helpful and professional, and we would definitely go back! I think next year i will bring a surfboard and try out surfing as it seemed there was a whole lot of people out there enjoying the waves ... The house was at a location down the beach that was just far enough away and just close enough to be out of the main goings-on in town and that was just perfect for us as we are in need of a good nights sleep with our new baby... I would recommend this place to any adventure seekers as its close to the jungleRecommended for: Adventure seekers.

We decided to leave half way into our week stay because of major roof leaks. The owner offered us a free week at the house for the trouble. I wish I could post pictures because the property has not been kept in top shape. It is in need of TLC. Because of the fantastic location it's hard to complain. There is no security. so plan on locking everything up, even when your just on the beach out front. Once my husband had to get into it with some man who started wandering up by the house. He said he just wanted to crash, sleep. Not cool. This house might be best for a guys trip, surfing and fishing.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car.
Owner response: not sure what to say except that you cant please everyone...i will let the other hundreds of happy people speak for me.. Saludos,

First let me premise my review by telling you about me and my expectations: I travel a lot, I enjoy 5-star resorts as much as I enjoy camping, it just depends on the trip I'm looking for at the time. I'm hard to impress but am also very easy going ie it would take a pretty amazing place to wow me, but I can rough it if that's what I know I'm getting myself into. Let me address some of the reviews I read before I arrived (review vs my experience): 1) The house is not as advertised ---- The house is EXACTLY as advertised (more on this as you read on). 2) It's not on the beach ---- The house is absolutely right on the beach (yes you have to go down about 20 steps from the deck to actually be standing on the beach), but there is nothing between you and the water except sand. 3) The house is old and run down and the yard is a mess ------ The house is definitely not brand new and part of the yard is essentially like a jungle but despite the house being a little older the house is immaculately clean and tidy and has a really cool layout. 4) The furniture is worn out and crappy ---- there isn't a lot going on for furniture, it has an old tv but the furniture is not crappy, it's functional and clean in the living room/dining room, the bedrooms are big and beds/dressers clean and suitable, the deck loungers are definitely sun worn but by no means dirty or unusable. 4) It's a long walk from town ----- If you walk from the house to town it's ~8-10minutes, and to put that into context, if you walk to town in the morning, eat breakfast, get organized on the beach, lay down and all of a sudden realize you forgot your book, you'll be annoyed that you have to go back to the house, it's not close enough to say "I'll be right back" like you would at an all inclusive resort but it's not so far that you're wishing you booked a house closer to town. Overall I'd say this about our stay: The house was exactly what we hoped for, right on the beach, waves crashing in the background all night, a cool layout, very clean with NO bugs (tiny tiny ants will show up if you leave food out mind you but disappear when you put it away), it has an amazing and large deck with phenomenal views, the management team is great/helpful/honest/etc, and the distance from town was just enough to allow piece and quiet at night (other than the waves crashing which was awesome) but close enough not to be an annoyance walking. Bang for your buck I have a hard time believing you can do better in Sayulita.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I must start out by saying that 95% of the people love the house and we are so grateful to have such good luck with our guests and try to listen to all feedback to make the house perfect so you have a great experience... Secondly, its very nice and extremely thoughtful that you put into words some of the things that i would like to say when i think how unfair a select few have been in their reviews. I have learned to live with the fact that some people will blame you for the sun coming up and thats just how it is. Its important to note that i have learned alot about people by renting this home. in conclusion: thank you for your honest nice review and we will work on getting more new cushions for the outside

I thought the house was perfect...not a super fancy hotel style but a real house, and right at the side of our "own" beach. so much nicer than the crazy busy main beach in town, although it was a 10 min walk there when we were in the mood to have our drinks brought to us! there is a nice green space on one side of the house, and the area was quiet at night except for the sound of the waves. we had friends in town that couldnt sleep due to bars /drunk people making noise till all hours of the night. we even saw horses just wandering around, no saddles. very cool! there is a washer dryer in the place which is also handy, and the front patio facing the ocean was great. property was clean and had a kitchen, and wifi as well, no air con but we just let the ocean air in and that was fine. owner was great to answer any questions we had promptly and helped us whenever we needed it. I would totally recommend a stay here!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Just got back from spending 4 nights in Casa Tranquillo. I highly recommend folks to stay here. The location is great and you are within walking distance of almost everything. The house itself is cozy and the views are world class. The security in sayulita is also good as are the police are nice and friendly and helpful. We rented a car the last 2 days and went to Punta de mita There is a National car rental down town and it seems like right next door and cost with taxes was $30 US per day. The house manager is great at giving tips on where to go, where to eat, shop, when to take taxi, bus walk etc? we loved Le bus hambergers restaurant....also, vino tinto i think is the name? ...great Italian food and romantic atmosphere. Highly recommend taking a boat trip out to the open waters and renting a golf cart to get around town. Hit several bars there that were awesome......The don patos was cool and tigres.....wonderful people at both places. The pyroglifics? were interesting to go and visit ...the bottom line? a wonderful beach and great town to sightsee and grab drinks and lunch. Stay here and you will be happy you did. we are happy campers!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children.

What a great spot & such a gorgeous setting for anyone who wants to just get away from it all and enjoy the beautiful weather, beaches & quaintness that is Sayulita.... As far as surfing, the sayulita beach and the cove, El Faro in Punta de Mita was all we hoped it would be...The house was great overlooking the ocean and the wonderful beach. The terrace is open and bright with a huge space and 3 nice bedrooms. You want to stay in all week and do your own cooking? No problemo, you supply the food and drink, everything else you'll need is in the kitchen. But the beach out in front of the house l is where you'll want to be during the day. Sipping cervezas and looking out to the ocean, nothing better! But if your thing is leaving the cooking back home there are some fantastic restaurants in the town, lots with beach dining. Costenllos Don pedros choco are all superb. If you want to take a little drive head to La Cruz and have dinner at the Yacht Club overlooking the marina excellent. And don't forget to visit Choco for a treat and a good coffee... If you like to golf and don't want to drive back to Puerto Vallarta, try Litibu, just 15 minutes away. Beautiful course, newer so they don't have a clubhouse yet but the price is right and the people are very nice. All the other courses that are close are private. Don't forget to take some long walks down the beach and enjoy the setting and atmosphere of a small town in Mexico. If you want to get away from the huge Mexican beach resorts and really enjoy some serinity, then Casa Tranquillo is what you are looking for, it was all we hoped it would be! The best thing about the house was that it was a bit private on a big property and we could just enjoy ourselves and not have anyone around if we chose to relax all day. Hope this helps!!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children.

We had a wonderful holiday at Casa Tranquillo... I had walked by the house several times during previous holidays in Sayulita, and had high expectations of what it would be like to stay there - the house meet my expectations, ! It is a lovely house, and is very well equipped for a holiday rental. We appreciated all the outside furniture, as we always had a choice of inside or out for the many hours we spent in the beautiful little yard, and around the beach front terrace , reading, sunning, or just enjoying the glorious view. We loved the housekeeper, Carmina, and it was always a pleasure to see her arrive. She kept the house immaculate, and the manager was able to help with finding restaurants and the best places to buy things in Bucerias as well. He was the book of local info. was also very helpful. I enjoyed returning to La Cruz, and was happy to see that although there had been some new building since I was there last, it was still a small, friendly fishing village at heart. We loved the new fish market, and walked into Sayulita everyday for shopping, lattes or smoothies, or meals at one of the many restaurants. We also ate at Don Pedros, just a 10 minute walk down the beach. We never felt worried about safety anywhere, . We didn't rent a car, but found that getting around by golf cart was easy and fun , . Casa Tranquillo is very well situated to take advantage of all that Sayulita has to offer, but it was wonderful to get back to a little oasis of calm and quiet. We have already talked about a return visit, possibly bringing another friend for the third bedroom, in a few years. I would have no hesitation in recommending Casa Tranquillo to anyone interested in visiting that area, and my family have already seen my pictures and are quite aware of what a great holiday they could have there...we are an adventurous family and just to clarify, its not like the 4 seasons, its more like a ski cottage on a great big ranch property...Thank you all for a great holiday!Recommended for: Families with young children.

ITS interesting to see how people rate a property. Its very subjective. I feel that value has way more to do with how it feels as a whole as opposed to how much marble is in the foyer. If you're looking for the Ritz Carlton, dont bother coming here...Its not that kind of place. Its a huge private property with its own jungle preserve on the property with a beautiful arroyo. I would much rather be here than any posh place with room service. Its more of a family estate that you can wander about and have total privacy...thats value. Its an old cottage house with everything you need comfortable beds, a nice kitchen if you want to cook and a big terrace for hanging out. At 300 a night its a steal. I could have had any number of other homes that were much more appointed but for 300 a night right on the beach, there is no comparison to this cozy little cottage house and the other beach front homes were 500 to 700Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with young children.
