Our private studio is attached to our main house, it is sound proof and has everything you need to be comfortable without being in the center of a resort. We are on a very quiet street away from the main road yet close enough to the village and ski area. Walking to the village on the scenic bikepath is one of our favorite things to do. It is just over one mile!

This was a last minute find and we couldn't have been more pleased. Great location for our daily bike rides and roomy enough (especially with two large closets) for my wife and I to enjoy ourselves. A restful atmosphere and hosts that really get what it means to be great hosts. My wife and I have not only frequently reflected on how nice our time was there, but looking forward to when we can find time go back again.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a terrific time at Alice & Paul's studio. Great place for 2 people. The studio (and the owner's house!) are just beautiful. The woodwork throughout, and tile work in the bathroom, are just awesome. The studio offers everything you need for a relaxed stay. The kitchen has everything you need: utensils, coffemaker (including a French Press, which we used!), pot/pans, cleaning supplies etc... They have extra towels, linens, blankets & pillows. Two large closets for all your stuff and then some...DirectTV, great wireless reception...Overall a GREAT place to stay, with super nice hosts... We'll definitely stay at the studio again....and you should too....!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We had an unbelievably wonderful time staying with Alice & Paul! They know the area very well and offered a ton of "insider" information to get the most out of our stay in Squaw Valley. They are extremely nice and gracious! They were very hospitable and often anticipated our needs before we did (ex. Beach Towels to go to the beach on one of our days there) The apartment was very nice. It had beautiful tile. PLENTY of storage. The bed was very soft and comfortable. The apartment was nice and cool though there is a gas fireplace for those snow dwellers! It had all of the amenities you could need: Linens, Towels, soap, kitchen utensils, television (with cable!), extra blankets, etc. The location is amazing! About 1 mile from the village. They have a beautifully landscaped yard that they share with the tenants. You must stay here! You will NOT regret it. :) Thank you Pal & Alice for such a wonderful experience!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

A cozy studio that's a great place for one or two people to stay, conveniently located to everything from Truckee to Tahoe City. Tasteful, modern, and clean, with very nice owners. Pictures are accurate but don't do justice to the beautiful yard and architecture. This is a downstairs unit but not a basement; private and quiet with a nice view. The mini-kitchen has everything you need, there's a big TV, a nice shower, and two huge closets where you can stash all your gear. This is a really good value and I highly recommend it.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Hi Wayne, We so appreciate this unsolicited response and are happy you were comfortable in our studio. It is this kind of comment that makes us feel gracious and pleased to share our home. Alice & Paul

Owner info
About the owner: We have lived in Squaw Valley for many years. Alice is a retired physical education teacher and Paul has retired from an active design and building career. We have been married for 24 years and have 11 grandchildren. Keeping active is a lifestyle for us, biking, kayaking, hiking and dancing fills the days. Our studio guests love the idea that we know the area quite well and when asked are able to point them in the right direction.
