Once you cross the private bridge past the mountain pond to this newer luxury mountain lodge nestled next to the bubbling Mills Creek, you know you have arrived for peace and comfort. The house is on 3 acres in a very private setting off of Fairway Drive, with lush rhododendron and mountain laurel. This native stone and rough-sawn siding lodge is situated to take maximum advantage of Mills Creek with water falls, boulders and flora from its expansive vaulted wall of windows in the great room. The great room has a Grand-Lodge style two-story stone wood-burning fireplace with comfortable seating including an over-sized sofa, oriental rugs and antique furnishings.
The banquet sized dining room seats 10-12 with vaulted ceiling and opens to a covered porch on Mills Creek with additional outdoor seating for 4-6 with another wood-burning fireplace for the cool nights.
Open the windows along Mills Creek and sleep peacefully with the cool breeze and babbling water sounds echoing throughout your room. The main level master bedroom with fireplace and private covered porch overlooks Mills Creek. The luxurous master bath includes his and hers vanity with limestone counters, separate shower and Baine Ultra spa tub.
The kitchen is open to the dining room with high-end appliances including a warming drawer and wine cooler. There is an office on the main level and a large laundry room.
The second level has two bedrooms (Queen and Full) with separate baths and a loft.
Enjoy the stone patio with fire pit along the banks of Mills Creek. This house is located close to the Toxaway River Hiking Trail, 1/2 mile from the marina and club and a short walk through the woods to the golf course.
Additional sleeping is available on a twin bed in the basement with 1/2 bath.

The property description was very accurate. The photos only hint at this warm and welcoming home. It far exceeded our expectations. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a lovely new home with that warm lodge feeling in a peaceful, idyllic setting. Owners carefully thought of every need. Perfect for familes, couples, friends getaway. Enjoy long walks, great for hikers. Cashiers and Brevard are just 30 minutes away. Great pottery shops with local artisans nearby. If you are looking for a mountain respite with every attention to detail for a comfortable stay, you will not be disappointed with this property.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The Lodge on Mills Creek Checkout Policy We hope you have enjoyed your stay at The Lodge on Mills Creek. Please note that checkout time is at 10am on the designated date of checkout. Before you leave, we just ask a couple of favors to help our housekeeper prepare for our next guests. • Please take all trash, including bathroom trash bags out to the trash can in the garage. Please make sure all trash is bagged and top secured. Please leave trash can in the garage so bears/raccoons will not be tempted. • Place all used sheets and towels on the bath floor. • Remove any opened food items from the refrigerator. • Turn off all lights, ceiling fans or any electronics. • Please load all dishes into the dishwasher and run it on the normal cycle. • Please turn the heat down to 58º F in the winter, and please turn the A-C up to 85º F in the summer. • Please lock all doors and close all windows. • Place the keys back inside the lockbox on the front door. If you choose, we’d also appreciate an entry in our guestbook. We love to hear from all our guests with their feed back. We hope you have a safe journey home and visit us again in the future. About the owner: Being a high end builder in the Atlanta area, I searched for over 2 years to fine the perfect lot with a significant water feature. My wife and I finally found it in 2006 in Lake Toxaway, NC and started building our custom designed home nestled along the banks of Mills Creek. We worked closely with our architect to make sure the heavily-wooded laurel and rhododendron filled landscape was preserved. It was important to make sure the natural setting and rushing creek became an integral part of our home’s main living areas. We have 2 daughters. One lives in Charleston SC as an interior designer and our youngest is attending Clemson University, which is only 1 hour away. Our family, friends and Chloe our great golden retriever have enjoyed numerous fun filled activities located within Lake Toxaway Estates and some within a short drive. While on the property we have made many family memories renting a boat and cruising Lake Toxaway’s 650 acre private lake, skiing, swimming, fishing, canoeing, picnicking, and hiking along the Lake Toxaway river trail, viewing magnificent waterfalls, picnicking on the top of the mountain at The Meadows and a friendly game of touch football with family and friends. Within a short drive to Cashiers or Brevard, you can find the perfect antique; enjoy the works of local artist in a variety of mediums including painting, pottery or sculpture. The beauty of nature is endless here. Come and enjoy our piece of heaven on earth!
