  This was our second visit, and we couldn't have had a better experience. We spent our days skiing at nearby Platekill and relaxed at home in the evenings. We were able to walk to town for dinner one night, which was fun, and other nights we cooked dinners at the house. The sauna and jacuzzi were nice surprises. But we really loved the intimate dining room and the wood-burning stove. Working with Kathy is a joy. We would definitely come back.

  The house is warm and welcoming right from the driveway! Hearing the brook as you approach the house was so nice and relaxing. The front porch I can imagine would be great in the warmer weather. The house was larger than we all expected, very roomy!! The owners were a pleasure to deal with especially for my first vrbo rental! Everything was setup when we arrived and made for a comfortable stay! Next on the awesome list: the location!! Walk to town there are two hometown eateries, convenience store and along the way the hotel bar is open after 5pm. It was the dead of winter with snow on the ground and 20 degrees and it was a nice short walk!!! Thanks Kathy for sharing your home... It was a great girl's ski weekend and each of my friends that came have asked for the listing number and look forward to returning!

  My husband and I (along with 2 other couples) stayed at this house for a wedding in Roxbury in summer 2012. We are from St. Louis, Missouri and new little about the town. We found this house on VRBO and could not be happier with our experience! The house was so charming, clean and very close to restaurants and cafe's. Kathleen, the owner, was so easy to work with and extremely accomodating. Some of the neat features of the house were the sauna and nice porch/deck. The kitchen was also large and a great place to gather. I highly recommend this house!

  The Bungalow proved to be the perfect place for a young family and cousins who wanted to join a large family reunion nearby. The children (ages 2-6) were delighted to share the bunk bed room, and their parents were happy to have a room right next to it (little kids do want to climb in with Dad & Mom sometimes). Upon arrival, the house was in perfect condition and was even more charming than the listing had led us to expect. The location was ideal: close to the village, but on a property that feels private and spacious. The owner was very helpful and forthcoming, especially considering the fact that this was a short-notice booking. We actually extended this stay by two nights (happily, it was available). We weren't familiar with Roxbury or the Western Catskills before, but I would certainly recommend it for a laid-back family gathering or retreat. We enjoyed fishing, golfing, nature walks and just talking together on the deck. It's easy to imagine a great winter weekend there too, with the ski sloped nearby.

  This place satisfies on so many levels: close to town, yet a feeling of privacy and quiet, clean, great jacuzzi for all seasons, commodious kitchen and generally a great place to come back to after a day or late night of lots of activity. In our case, it was a great breakaway from a weekend of socializing at our niece's wedding. That said, since it was a hot mid-July, I would've preferred the bed made up with other than flannel sheets and a heavy comforter.......but no problem, they had plenty of spares in the linen closet to make a switch. This is a good place for two or three couples, or a family and I can imagine how much fun it is to be near a place where you can ski and do outdoor winter sports.

  My family has rented this house for a winter holiday the past two years. It is large, comfortable and clean. It has a great bathroom w/ oversized whirlpool tub and a sauna. It is minutes for Platekill mt. For skiing and snow tubing and about 20 minutes to Bellarye. It is also right next to a local school with sledding for children and outdoor swings/slides etc. You can walk to the roxbury hotel for a drink, bite or spa treatments. The owners are great w providing additional area info/resiurces and discount tickets! We love this home and will be back soon!!

  The first surprise was this home is much more than a charming bungalow. It has a master suite, 2 good size bedrooms and a private den with a futon and doors. It has a really cool bath on the main floor. The eat in Kitchen is large and well laid out. It has a big living room and a dining room. We were a party of 8 (3 adults and 5 kids) and everyone was very was comfortable. The house is well maintained and everything was in good repair. We rented the house to ski at Plattekill mountain. Plattekill was a short easy drive from the house. We are huge fans of this mountain. The skiing is great, with something for everyone. A good 2 mile beginner run, some nice intermediate runs, and a few long and steep bump runs. There are almost never lines. The mountain does not seem to attract the crowds and yahoo skiers so prevalent in the catskills. It has an old school charm. Best of all Plattekill ticket prices are a great deal at only $56 per adult during peak times. When you stay with one of their lodging partners( which this home is ) for every adult ticket a you buy a kid 7-17 skis free. Under 7 is always free. It is a tremendous value. Ski School is also less than half that of most resorts. We plan to be regular renters. Feel a little as if in reviewing the house and mountain we are sharing a secret we should keep to our shelf.
