We (my husband and I and his 2 sisters along with our pup, Sophie) spent a glorious Columbus Day weekend at this beautiful log cabin on Lake George. The weather was perfect but had it not been, we still would have loved this place. The accommodations are very inviting and modern despite the authenticity of the log cabin. It is tastefully decorated and everything is supplied so that once you store your clothes and groceries, there would be no need to leave. We ate almost all of our meals "at home." We talked about dinner out but didn't want to miss the comfort of the cabin or the wonderful views of the lake. Lake George Village with its shops and restaurants is just steps away yet the cabin feels remote. Patricia, the owner, lives just next door and was very helpful but also unobtrusive - a perfect VRBO hostess! She left us delicious pastries and was a wealth of local knowledge. We particularly appreciated her suggestion for a local butcher. We opted for steaks on the grill one night. They were perfectly cut to our specifications and were so tender. We spent lots of time on the deck overlooking the water - chatting, reading, soaking up the warm sun and listening to the occasional calliope serenade from a passing tour boat. We were there at the peak of the fall colors and the well-tended grounds were lovely. All-in-all, perfect! The business of the rental was seamless. Patricia was very responsive - even though her daughter was in labor when I first contacted her! Her directions to the cabin and her notes on site were spot on and her return of our deposit was very timely. We are still talking about this wonderful place!

If you are looking for a vacation that has it all, then look no further!!!! Once you pull up into the driveway of this magnificent log cabin situated right on the lake; you will know that you made the right decision. If you thought the views right from the property of Lake George and beautiful mountains took your breath away.........wait until you walk into this beautiful rustic log cabin. If you are like everyone from my family who walked through the lakeside door; you will find yourself picking your jaw up from the floor! From the minute you walk through the front door, you can feel the love that the owners put into this jewel on the lake. The home is spotless and meticulously cared for. The pictures on this website does not do the home justice. Absolutely amazing! Oh did I leave out swimming off a private dock footsteps from the back door that provides you with the best view of the firework shows on the Lake? The cabin is walking distance to all the stores and amenities that the Village of Lake George has to offer. This includes but not limited to: boating, fishing, power-sailing, kayaking, tubing, great food at the Boardwalk Restaurant, and the historic Lake George Steam Boat rides......plus so much more!!!! I spent so much time expressing our love for the home and great vacation spot, I almost left out one of the most important parts of the entire experience; the homeowner Patricia Dow. From the minute she greets you to the minute you leave this remarkable home, she is a wonderful, kind, and a most gracious host! From bringing pastries from the local bakery to making sure that you have everything you need to enjoy your stay...her calm soothing demeanor makes you feel like you have known her for years..... I have never taken the time to write a review about a vacation but this was one that was more than deserving of a few minutes so you don't miss out on a trip you won't be disappointed by. I am just not sure that words alone can truly explain this majestic location. I do know this much.....my family has found our vacation spot for years to come!

This was the best vacation we ever had taken. We stayed at this fantastic cabin for one week with six adults and one child. We were comfortable and had plenty of room. We also had three cars. This place has it ALL! Cabin, dock, sand lake bottom, fire pit, views, located in town (although you would never know it), and what feels like your own personal fireworks show (on Thursday nights, in season). We even had a box of pastries from a local bakery in our fridge, courtesy of the owner, when we arrived. Even though the cabin is a two minute walk to Canada Street, we never heard any traffic or pedestrian noise. We barbequed two nights, made a lasagna another night and walked into town for dinner on the other nights. We rented a pontoon boat for the week from Chic’s Marina (in Bolton Landing), and docked it for the week in front of the cabin. Every day we went fishing, boating, snorkeling. Every night we would take a walk to town and come back and have a fire in the fire pit. One day we got adventurous and hiked Tongue Mountain to the 5th peak lean-to for a breathtaking view of the lake. The best part of the trip was watching our grandson. He went from being hesitant about going into the lake, to becoming a snorkeler, to doing a running jump off the pontoon boat. If you are looking to rent a place at Lake George, THIS IS IT!!!

The charm and beauty of this cabin are matched by a host who truly cares about her guests and their enjoyment of this magical property. Patricia was wonderful and attentive to our questions before we arrived, and certainly while we were there. Wonderful bakery treats greeted us and we could not have been happier with the cabin, its decor, complete comfort, and amenities. Built in the '30s and lovingly restored/renovated, it is a smaller version of the Adirondack great camps the area is so famous for and yet very spacious with a great floorplan. My husband, two adult daughters and I, along with my parents who joined us, had a very memorable time. I'm still wistful about our stay here and can imagine the sounds of the wonderful steamboats that cruise by the dock every day.

The cabin was more then I expected, charming, warm and comfortable. The views from the cabin were breathtaking, we couldn't take enough pictures to share with others. Our gracious host left out nothing, fresh cut flowers, and very thoughtul gifts, which we enjoyed and appreciated. My family (my daughter's, their spouses and children; age 2 through 23) had a great time, There was something for everyone, swimming, boating, shopping (a block from the center of town) etc, Family time is very important and this vacation gave us just what we all needed, enjoying each others company, from playing board games to coordinating activities and meals. We had a GREAT time, thank you.

Sitting in the Adirondack chair, sipping my coffee with one of our 2 dogs lying at my feet, watching my husband, son, two daughters, son-in-law and yellow lab swimming, snorkeling and playing in the lake just a few steps away, I wondered how much more perfect this could be. This was our second summer vacation at this beautiful, spotless, spacious and comfortable log cabin. It’s the type of place you can’t wait to write a rave review about! Patricia, the owner, is a doll! Although so privately-situated, it is virtually walking distance to anything you might need. Since no restaurants in town could offer the same spectacular views, we cooked all our meals in the very well-appointed kitchen and enjoyed the view of the lake from the dining room table! On a beautiful, moonlit Thursday night, we watched the weekly fireworks display from just outside the cabin. Every morning, we would take long walks and then stop at the local bakery to bring goodies back to the rest of the family. Since my husband likes to boat, we rented a pontoon boat (from Capt. Bob’s in Boltons Landing – we highly recommend him) for a week to explore the lake, swim, and fish - and our family - 5 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs. – had such a great time. This very special place has something for everyone – young and “not-so-young” alike! Absolutely most perfect summer vacation place – better than any shore vacation!!

Stayed here for a long weekend with seven of my friends, and we were all glad we did. The cabin itself is amazing -- a rustic log cabin with modern amenities. We spent a lot of time eat and drinking in the closed in porch area, which gives a great view of the lake. And there was a roof deck we didn't even know about, which made for a great place to hang out. The owner could not have been better or more helpful. She helped us with parking (we needed an extra spot), let us stay a few extra hours because the whether wasn't perfect earlier in the weekend, and walked over while I was fishing off the dock at 7am to let me know a better place to fish. And there were fresh baked goods waiting for us as a special gift when we arrived. She also found a few nearby farmers' markets nearby when I asked her if she knew of any. Truly top-notch service. The cabin is right in the middle of Lake George Village, but still secluded, so it's a quiet and peaceful place. Everything -- bars, restaurants, shops, groceries -- is all only a short walk away. Prospect Mountain, a short but pretty strenuous hike, is a also a 5-minute walk from the house. We spent most of our time at the cabin, though, because it really was great. You can just sit on the dock, or on one of the lawn chairs up by the house, and spend the day relaxing. We were a bit worried we'd be too loud, since most of the other reviewers of the cabin were 50+ with families, and my friends and I are all younger, but it wasn't a problem at all. We'll definitely be considering staying here for another long weekend next spring.

We stayed at this property for a weekend with 4 adults, one child and our dog. We had more than enough room for everyone. What a wonderful place - the owner was very gracious and friendly. The cabin itself was magical...between the stone fireplace, spiral staircase and private alcoves throughout the home. There is a stunning view of the lake from almost every window and it's wonderful to have the lake right outside your door, with the village in short walking distance. What a special place - highly recommended for pure relaxation in a lovely and scenic setting! None of us wanted to leave, but we can't wait to return.
