Nicely-decorated, comfortable, relaxing, and spacious single-family home in the gated community of Bethany Lakes with 88 homes.
The community has a swimming pool, kiddie pool, playground, tennis courts, clubhouse, fitness gym, and large lake with boardwalk and gazebo. Pool and amenities are a 3-4 minute walk across the lake. Enjoy leisurely strolls or ride your bikes on the community's wide streets without the worry of speeding cars and busy roads. A new Harris Teeter (with Red Box) is just conveniently located right across the street. Other close-by sites include the Salt Pond public golf course, James Farm Ecological Preserve and Fresh Pond Park. The beaches and charming town of Bethany are less than 5 minutes away.
The first floor features hardwood floors, a two-story living room, full kitchen with island, dining room, living room, family 'great' room, powder room, laundry, two-car garage, relaxing three-season porch, and deck. Spend your evening on the front or back porches overlooking the lush yard or enjoy the ocean breezes from the second story porch with its lakeview and sound of the lake fountain. On cooler days, leave the windows open to enjoy the cross breezes of fresh ocean air.
The second floor is fully carpeted with four comfortably-furnished bedrooms and three full baths. The master suite has a four-poster queen bed, balcony, and master bath en-suite with sunken tub and shower. The second bedroom has a full size bed with bathroom en-suite. The third bedroom has a queen size bed and shared balcony with the master. The fourth bedroom has a bed bunk with a twin above and full below as well as a full size futon. The third and fourth bedrooms share a full bath.
We have a few board games and puzzles, beach chairs, and beach umbrellas for your use.

Another great week on Virginia Drive. You have a perfect home for a family vacation getaway. We ate, swam, ate, fished, ate, rode rides, ate, played golf, ate some more. Our 7-month old enjoyed his first time beach-week! We highly recommend Judy at the Indian River Marina for deep sea fishing and our dinner at Patsy's was our best meal of the week. The new bike trail though Salt Pond is great for kids and adults. The par 3 golf course at Salt Pond is great for junior golfers and adults. Mini golf at Jungle Jim's is the best we've found so far. Your house is absolutely amazing and exceeds all expectations. It was so relaxing and comfortable to come home to each day and we truly enjoyed our stay here. We have fallen in love with Bethany -- relaxing days spent on the beach, outings to Jungle Jim's & Funland, fabulous restaurants, and good times with family and friends. We cannot wait to reutrn. Your home is lovely, comfortable, and well-appointed. We really had everything we needed - and Harris Teeter is such a close by luxury. We loved the beach so close and the swimming pool and tennis court right across the lake walkway. This is a great house for all ages - perfect for making lasting memories. Gen and Christian are fantastic owners. I have rented with VRBO before and never have I encountered such friendly owners who are more organized. They had a terrific guest book containing all the information you need about the house and the gated community; the local hospitals; and check out procedures. Everything was included in the house – linens, towels, beach chairs, boogie board, even beach toys. You just need to show up and enjoy. If you are unfamiliar with the area, they have tons of information about the town of Bethany and the beach area in general. The house is brand new and beautifully decorated. The beach is a five minute drive away and there is always plenty of parking there. The pool at the facility is terrific as well as the workout room. The community has a small pond that is stocked with fish (that you must release) and we had a great time fishing. A brand new Harris Teeter is right across the street and rents $1 movies that you can easily watch in two of their DVD players. The house would also be a perfect getaway for the off season. They have a gas fireplace and there not everything shuts down in the off season. You will not go wrong with renting this house any time of the year!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

Just perfect -- house is comfortable, inviting, relaxing. Kids had the summer days kids should; sun, sand, ocean, pool, rides, fudge, late bedtimes, catching fish, totally carefree. We had a wonderful time on our family vacation because your home felt like our own home away from home. Not a detail was missing and most importantly, we all had our own bed to sleep in for the 1st time ever, a rarity for a 7 member family bringing friends along with the kids!Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: We are working professionals from the DC area and are still getting used to being second-homeowners in Bethany. A big house to manage, yet so much to see and do in this area! We like spending time in all 6 towns, and recreating outdoors in all of the natural areas along this beautiful stretch of coast. We cannot believe this will be our 4th summer in Bethany - time flies!
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Bethany Lakes:
This house was lovingly cared for and decorated by the prior owners who had a lot more design sense than we do. As a result, we try to be 'stewards' of their work and take really good care of the house. We chose this location as it is in a quieter part of town, close to the beach, has a neighborhood feel, well-maintained properties, and the community offers nice amenities.
