The place was gorgeous. House fulfilled all our expectations. The owners respond to any our inquiries was awesome. We would like to come back this place in the future. The only problem is the water, which you can’t drink.

we arrived as snow flakes were falling in the forest and the kids went nuts as they have never been in snow---they had a wonnerful time sliding down with improvised sleds out on the back yard. the home was roomy, and cozy warm for our family of 6 plus 3 out of town guests. everything worked and the kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans. we drove down to the lake--a 10 minute drive and admired the views and wanted it to be summer so we could be swimming and in the water!! the views from the patio are amazing and its nice just to sit out back with a hot chocolate/coffee/tea and gaze away the afternoon. our two chihuahuas had a wonnerful time as well. thanks Matthew for the directions and all the help

My family and I enjoyed staying at this property. It's in a very quiet location with plenty of yard to wonder around in for the kids, yet near enough to town, Bass Lake and Yosemite. We felt very relaxed at this property and enjoyed the beautiful view of the mountains and trees.

This a very comfortable ranch style older home. It had more than enough room for a family of four, The three bedrooms provided our two sons with their own personal space. One bedroom had a queen sized bed and the other had a bunk bed (full size bed on lower bunk, twin bed on top). The master bedroom had a queen sized bed and it's own bathroom. The second bathroom was across the hall from the other two bedrooms. The bathrooms were adequate. The sitting area provided a separate area away from the TV to read or play games. The living room was comfortable and there was a nice variety of movies to choose from. The kitchen was stocked and there was a laundry room off of the kitchen. The house is situated off the road up a long driveway. It had a garage and another covered area to park several cars. Our sons took advantage of the driveway playing frisby. The best feature of this house was the porch. The view from the porch was spectacular! We enjoyed just sitting out there and enjoying the scenery and the quietness.while having our morning coffee. We were entertained one morning by a rabbit and a deer .In the evening we sipped on a glass of wine and just spent time talking while we grilled steaks and then dined outside. At night we enjoyed the fresh air and seeing a sprinkling of lights while listening to the peace and quiet. Matthew was a delight to work with as this was a last minute booking. It just so happened this house was available on the days we wanted. And the price was right. He responded to my phone call and emails promptly. We highly recommend this home for a relaxing get away. One last note: The gate to Yosemite is about a 30 minute drive and Bass Lake is a 1.5 mile drive. There are plenty of stores minutes away We highly recommend a visit to Yosemite. You won't be disappointed! Bass Lake is a must do also. We rented a pontoon boat with a tube and spent a half day at the lake. The boat had a grill so we made good use of it and had a great time!!!

What a find! We had most everything we needed. Most all of our extended family was camping at Bass Lake, and a few of us opted for comfort. This place has most everything you'll need. The beds are good, the kitchen stocked with utensils, and there are TV and board games for those who want them. The serenity on the deck can't be beat. Birds everywhere! Bring binoculars to check them out. Watching the hummingbirds at dusk is wonderful, as well as seeing hawks hunt for food. We loved this place. A couple of suggestions: A hummingbird feeder on the deck, a tea kettle, and bedside lamps for those who read (overhead lights at bedtime drive me nuts.) If you stay here. you will want to come back. Thanks to Matthew and his crew!

This home is as described. It is a nice, affordable, comfortable older home. We were traveling as a family of 4 ranging in ages from 9-58, staying 6 nights. My husband is blind and he found this home quite easy to get around in. It met all of our needs for our stay and was a nice alternative to staying at a hotel or dealing with the crowds found elsewhere. The view from the patio is amazing and very relaxing. We enjoyed watching wildlife from the patio. We were able to go to both Bass Lake for evening swims then Yosemite National Park for day hikes and sightseeing. We did keep in mind that this is still the wilderness, keeping food out of our cars as directed by Yosemite. Both Bass Lake and Yosemite are incredibly gorgeous and should not be missed. Everyone in our group agrees that staying at this home was a pleasant part of our journey and would recommend it to others.

This cabin has more room than the photos show. After hiking in Yosemite, kayaking or relaxing at Bass Lake or at the cabin, we prepared dinner in the well-equipped kitchen and ate on the porch, enjoying cool evening and views of mountains and wildlife. Could not have campfires (high fire danger), but granddaughter made delicious s'mores in the microwave! The cabin has something for every one of our 3 generation family! Sports fans enjoyed 42" TV with ample seating while others played games, retreated to bedroom to read or watch DVD's. Sleeping arrangements were were cozy (a bit tight for 10 people - 3 used air mattresses in the living area), but this was expected from owner's info. Owner was helpful in answering questions before and during our stay. We needed a "dog friendly" cabin, so this was great. We appreciated owner's concern for our pets' well-being. Would definitely recommend and we may return.

Just got back from four days at the house with my wife, six kids, and father. We had a wonderful time and would definitely come back if we ever have the chance. The house was well equipped and kept our family entertained through some less than perfect weather. There was a beautiful view of the valley below and easy access to Bass Lake and the well-equipped little town of Oakhurst. There aren't many reasonable lodging options close to or inside Yosemite for a family our size, and this was perfect for us. Our dealings with the owner were all very pleasant, and he even allowed us to arrive late the night before our scheduled arrival. Try that with a hotel!! The kids especially enjoyed s'mores by the fire pit down the hill outside the first night and in the portable fire pit under the cover of the deck the next two after it snowed.

Why the Owner Chose Bass Lake:
My husband and I purchased this house in 1999 along with my parents and my brother. We have enjoyed this property and the entire Bass Lake region for many years with our extended families and friends. In 2010 we decided to share this experience with others, thus we offered this property on VRBO. it has been a joy to share with others what we have been experiencing for many years.
