returned after two years and feels like home. I can'g imagine being on Mt. Desert Island and not staying at Tranquility Cottage. Your home is comfortable. peaceful and rejuvenating after a long day of beautiful hiking, biking and kayaking. We found "Nemo's" and loved the local fare and venue. Hope to be back soon.

We thoroughly enjoyed your place. The house is large and we enjoyed our very comfortable upstairs room. We all sat out on the deck each night, had drinks and enjoyed the outdoors - breakfast "family style" in the kitchen each morning with all the sunlight streaming in - then hiking, swimming, and touring Acadia! A perfect vacation - thanks!

Thanks so much for another wonderful vacation at the cottage! Our daughter built a fairy house in the back yard and we all picked blueberries:) We gathered sand dollars at Back Beach and ate several times at McKay's. We hiked, went to Sand Beach and did all our favorite activities. We even took a few nights to eat at the cottage and watch a movie. Loved it so much! See you for two weeks next year!

We are three sisters.... This is our first road trip together. We enjoyed MDI and all it had to offer: Acadia, carriage rides, whale watching, lobster and tranquility. Your cottage has the perfect name. The cottage fit us well and we made good use of the deck. Thanks for the memories.

I'm so happy I didn't give up looking for a cottage before I found yours. We hardly had time to enjoy the decks, etc., since we were always on the go with Workshop activities and group meals in the evenings. If I return I'll make a reservation early. Thanks for sharing your special place.

The cottage is truly tranquil - which was perfect after a hard (but wonderful) day of painting! It was amazing to find it was only walking distance from the Art Center - truly kismet.... You have everything one can need - more than one could hope for in a rental! Thank you for helping make this a true memory - especially for my first time in Maine

What a lovely home we had this week - not just a house to rent. Everything was at our fingertips: so nice. We truly enjoy Maine. This is our third straight year. Spent a week in South Thomaston before coming - we had to clean and take a lot of our own stuff - night and day experience. It was such a pleasure to walk in your door. Kudos to the staff who cares for your home when you're not here! We are sad that you don't allow pets because we would be back year after year.

Had a wonderful week in your BEAUTIFUL house with friends. Hiked in Acadia, went whale watching (so much fun!)and ate all the seafood we could! The hike around Jordan Pond was so much fun that we went twice! Absolutely love the seafood chowder at Jordan Pond House, and the popovers. All in all, a great visit and returning to your wonderful house at the end of each day made it so much better. You think of everything! Thanks again.

Thank you again for sharing your wonderful cottage! We've had a warm sunny week and revisited some favorite places: biking the carriage trails, lobster at Thurston's, hiking around Jordan Pond and having popovers and lemonade afterward. We also went to a few new places: hiked Beech Mountain, bought some great organic vegetables at Beech Farm, and we even went to the Maine Lumberjack Show! Thank you!

What a FANTASTIC place this is! So much larger and more beautiful than your website shows. We were thrilled to be here instead of a hotel. We do a lot of traveling and your home here is by far the nicest most comfy "just like home" feeling place we've ever stayed. Unfortunately we had a lot planned to do while we were here - would have enjoyed more time here at the house. I really hope to be able to come back again sometime soon.

My family had a wonderful time at the cottage as always! Everything was looking beautiful and we were able to let the babies crawl everywhere without worry. We went bike riding...hiked, rode on the Margaret Todd, and took a day trip to the Ile au Haut...I highly recommend Thuya Gardens and Asticou Bardens - both are always magnificent. As always, thank you for sharing your hoe with us.

This was our first visit to Maine. We had a wonderful week here exploring Mt. Desert Island and soaking in all of its natural beauty! You have a lovely place here in the less congested part of Mt. Desert Island. My first excursion to Acadia National Park, lots to do...hiked Acadia Mt., biked to the Day summit and did the Loop, then kayaked here at "home" at Bass Harbor. A restful place to coome back to and regroup for more energetic excursions. Massachusetts

We loved staying at your cottage! What a lovely place to stay! Our kids really liked it...our youngest sometimes just wanted to stay here instead of going places. We had a great time getting to know the island. And we did get to many different places: drove the Loop Road, kayaked on Long Pond...visited the Oceanarium, saw Thunderhole, watched the sunrise on Cadillac Mountain, hiked to Bubble Rock, had popovers and drinks at Jordan Pond House, went on a whale watch...visited the nearby beach and found cool rocks, seashells, and sand dollars, ate at Thurston's and Head of the Harbor, swam at Eagle Lake, and there is still so much that we could do....Thanks for all your tips and information, it was very helpful. Pennsylvania

Another wonderful week on MDI! Some old adventures, some new adventures...(Our children) wee able to make the Witch Hole Pond Loop ride on our bikes. It was a glorious experience, and to top it off we found a huge blueberry patch ripe for the picking. We filled our empty water bottles with blueberries, came back here and baked a pie! We sailed on the Margaret Todd and loved it (especially when they let us help hoist the sails)Thank you

A week of bliss. Perfectc weather! It even rained for us! This is our third visit and it has confirmed our plans to retire here in Maine. We highly recommend the sunset carriage ride to the top of Day Mountain. Very romantic.

Thank you for another peaceful and relaxing week of Tranquility Cottage. When we arrived, it was summer. When we left it was fall. We had beautiful sunny weather and enjoyed touring Acadia and Bar Harbor. Maine is unspoiled ant the coastline so beautiful! The cottage was our home away from home!

Thank you so much for the use of your cottage - it is truly magnificent. All of us appreciated the detailed notes and instructions, and the "things to do" folder was used extensively. Our eight-year-old son loved the beach, and we indulged in clambering over the rocks every morning. This being our first trip to Acadia (not our last!) we did the whole thing - whale watching, kayaking, hikiing...! All in all, one of the most relaxing and enjoyable vacations we have had.

All of us loved Tranquility Cottage. We had the best vacation. Your cottage is perfect for a family vacation. You've thought of everything. We loved many of your suggestions. We had the best time at Tranquility Cottage. My kids(2 and 4 year olds) loved running around the big kitchen area. The kitchen is truly equiped with everything a family would need. The beds were really comfortable. We loved the decor. We are hoping to go back in 2009! We highly recommend the cottage and the owners.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We all loved your cottage the moment we walked in. It is absolutely perfect as a home base to Acadia National Park. We loved hiking Acadia Mt., Cadillac Mt., walking to Back Beach, kayaking from Pretty Marsh to Seal Cove, hiking the carriage roads, deep sea fishing, and eating lobster and crabcakes (and steamers) at Mainely Delights by the Swan Ferry in Bass Harbor. Your home was perfect for all six of us - plenty of room, comfortable, and lovely. Thank you so much for the warm welcome and gift.

(Our family) returns to Tranquility Cottave! Even with rain and socked-in days Acadia did not disappoint. (Our) favorite highlights:Connor's Nubble ("a sea of nothingness due to the heavy mist")Sea kayaking from Bartlet island to Indian PointGoing to Bar Island in the pouring rain and getting soakedThe nature cruise, seeing a bald eagle perched on an American flag at Bunkers Point and going to Sea Anemone caveParkman and Bald Mountain peaks, the views were spectacular.We hope to return in 2009!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time on Mt. Desert Island, and the accommodations at Tranquility Cottage were comfortable, spacious, convenient - and like a home away from home. We loved the short trails at Wonderland and others near the coast with the kids. Thurston's Lobster Pound was fabulous, and every stretch of the island was magnificent. The Quiet Side was just our pace - yet close enough for evening jaunts in Bar Harbor. Even the weather was perfect! We're already planning our next visit to Acadia, and hope to have the pleasure of staying in Tranquility Cottage again!

Hre we are again and we had a wonderful time! We found more sand dollars on Back Beach, went to the Bass Harbor Light House, went bike riding, went hiking on Cadillac Mountain and ate tons of lobster.The weather was wonderful all week and we were never at a loss for something to do.We are going to try to be back next year. Thank you for a wonderful honeymoon cottage! Loved it! Loved cooking in your well-appointed kitchen, and found all the comforts of home right here. We took your suggestion and hiked to the fire tower on Beecch Mountain - excellent views! We also hiked to Bubble Rock, took the ferry to the Creanberry Islands, took a carriage ride in the park and had some excellent lobster. Thank you very much!

Oh, what a delightful vacation! Your cottage is just a delightful place to relax and enjoy the peaceful quiet. What a wonderful week! The cottage is so relaxing and fit our family perfectly. As far as Acadia goes, it is hard to beat. We sea kayaked, sailed, swam, hiked, fished, went sight seeing and saw the auto museum.
