Absolute Deckadence is an extraordinary vacation home. From April 7th to the 14th of 2012, I traveled with my family and a few friends for Easter Break. After the 20 hour car ride from Wisconsin, we were all delighted to find the splendor of Absolute Deckadence. The cleanliness of the rental house is unparalleled. When I arrived, the floors were spotless, the beds were made nice and crisp, all of the pans and utensils were organized into separate drawers in the kitchen, and the showers were sparkling clean. As I soon learned, it is impossible to keep sand from drifting in with children and teenagers trekking from the pool to the beach and then back to the house, yet when we first arrived there was not a single grain on the bottom floor. The amenities included in Absolute Deckadence were just as wonderful as its tidiness. I loved the lighted pool and hot tub. After swimming in the ocean for the day, I could then continue swimming in the pool or relax in the hot tub. Also, the expansive kitchens allowed for quick and efficient cooking even though there were about 15 people to feed. What most amazed me was the screen lined deck. Bugs were a little bit of a problem during our visit, but the screened-in deck allowed us to watch the majesty of the sunset over the ocean. Lastly, and most importantly, the Cape San Blas Peninsula is magnificent. The pristine beaches have wonderful, soft sand. Of all the places anyone in my traveled, everyone agreed that Cape San Blas had the most beautiful beaches. Another fantastic aspect of the trip was the bicycle ride to the lighthouse. By bike it took only approximately 10 minutes to reach the lighthouse from Absolute Deckadence. Once on the top, there was a gorgeous view of the peninsula and the bay. It really showcased the clear water and white sand beaches of beautiful Cape San Blas.

We stayed the week of 3-24-12 and had fantastic weather! We had three families with High School Senior boys and we all had a blast. The house was beautiful inside and out and it was great to spend time in the pool and hot tub. This was a fantastic area because you don't have the crowded beaches and tourist shops that they do in Panama City Beach. But if you need that a night or two PCB is only about an hour away. I highly recommend this house and we will definitely be back!

We have rented many vacation homes over the last 25 years. This beautiful home rates number one! Absolute Deckadence is truly a little piece of heaven. The home is beautifully decorated, very well stocked and very very clean!!!! The best we have ever rented.The owners take great pride in this home and it shows. The sunrises were beautiful~the sunsets spectacular~ The moon over the water breathtaking~This home truly is Absolute Deckadence The memories we made will last a lifetime~Thank you

We just returned from a week at this home. I am so sorry for the poor review earlier made. The house is not handicap accessible and is not advertised to be. We understood that the elevator is only for convenience...when you feel like you can't walk up the steps or need it for groceries, luggage, etc. We loved everything about the house and felt it met all our needs. We have found in other houses that pictures can sometimes deceive, but we felt this house was exactly as described. My husband and I give a beach trip to our kids and their families each year for christmas. We have stayed in some very nice homes, but this is the first one that we want to come back to. We thought the movie set up and selection was fine. Kids loved watching Indiana Jones while us adults watched something else. Also, we brought some favorites from home. Between the pool and the easy beach access we stayed outside almost all day. The kitchen was wonderful. One of the best supplied we have ever used. The only draw back to the area is grocery shopping. Piggley Wiggley is not too far, but it is not a first or even second class grocery. We brought a lot of food with us so it was not really a big problem. Next year we will know how to plan ahead a bit better. We bought shrimp from a local shop that was wonderful!! We also ate fish we caught one night...delicious. One night we ate scallops that we caught ourselves. fun and delicious. Grill still needs some work. It was ok but was hard to light and hard to keep going. But reading the other review, we see and understand what happened. Why would someone put charcoal in a gas grill? This house is so well maintained, that I am sure this will be properly addressed. Every person in our family loved the house and Cape San Blas. We look forward to our return next year. Our contract will be mailed Monday.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Owner response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. This is a fabulous home. We have taken care of the grill problem as soon as we were aware of it. It needed a new regulator and is now working fine. The charcoal situation happened earlier in July 2011. We look forward to having you back next year. Sunset Reflections...

I have stayed in many rental homes along the Gulf Coast and I can honestly say that this was by far the most beautiful house I have ever stayed in. We were 4 couples and had plenty of room to gather as a group and enough space to have alone time to ourselves. We all enjoyed the heated pool and spa. The kitchen is well stocked and we cooked almost every meal at the house being one of the girls is a world class chef. Of course the beach at "The Cape" is my favorite beach in the world. I also want to compliment Sunset Reflections and Denise Strickland for attention to detail and always pleasant making you feel like you are the most important person when you know she is juggling 1000 balls at once. Sunset Reflections and Denise made staying at Absolute Deckadence the best vacation.

We loved this house! We enjoyed our week long family gathering making use of the many amenities this beautiful home has to offer. Our group of 13 people ranging in ages from 10 to 70, and 3 pups were very comfortable, this is a large and well appointed house in a setting that exceeded all our expectations; we just wish we could have stayed longer. The elevator was a big plus for the older family members, as well as for transporting luggage and groceries. The kitchen was well stocked and fit for a gourmet chef. The Pool and Spa area was great for the whole family to play and relax together and the outdoor shower was very convenient after a day at the beach. Cape San Blas is a great place for dogs; our pups loved the house and especially the ample beach. The decks offered exceptional views to the ocean and the magnificent sunsets over the gulf. Absolute Deckadence was a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation for all ages. The Borges Family, Lantana, TX

Note: this listing was changed to brand new house at end of July 2010. Here is our first guest entry. What a beautiful and wonderful home. We loved our stay at the home as it exceeded our expectations. The views were outstanding. Waking up to a beautiful sunrise sitting on a deck looking out over the gulf with your morning coffee and then turnaround that evening and watch a beautiful sunset with your family and loved ones. The pool area was excellent for nighttime star gazing and the pool was very nice as we used it quite often. I would very highly recommend this home for a beach vacation. Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful home. it is a vacation we will never forget.

Please read the description of the property very carefully. There is only one bedroom in the entire house with a private bath, which can be troublesome. In addition, the house in neithe ADA or handicap accessible despite having an elevator. The property managers were quite unsympathetic to my father's plight of sponge baths and assistance with other bathroom facilities. There are also no ramps to offer wheelchair access onto the decks. Aesthetically the home is nice, but a look to the left might cause envy. The beach access is the best amenity and the home offers umbrellas and beach chairs and a variety of pails and shovels, but I suggest you bring your own boogie board. The second best amenity is the kitchen with its large marble countertops and double ovens, making service of large family meals a convenience. The nearest fully stocked grocery store is in Port St Joe, so stop by the Piggly Wiggly on your way in as the drive to return can be daunting especially at night. Kayak rental is available across the street from the property. The house provides some bluray movies and a range of VHS tapes, but the only bluray player is in the main living room. The grill was quite troublesome as well, so having your own grill in tow is a benefit if you indulge in the fine art of outdoor cooking.

Recommended for: Families with young children

Owner response: All reviews on this house have been excellent and 5 out of 5 stars. It is unfortunate that these guests had a wheelchair requirement that was not adequately supported by this house. We had not been asked about wheelchair limitations at time of booking or prior to arrival. The bathroom doors will not accommodate a full sized wheelchair. We were very sorry that the house did not support the father, and we had suggested trying to find a smaller wheelchair and had offered to let the tenants depart early with refund for unused days. At the time, we were told they loved the house and wanted to stay. The bathroom situation is described accurately in the listing and on our website. The master bedroom has a private bath. Three bedrooms have direct access to a shared bath including 2 that share a jack’n jill bath, but have their own separate vanity areas, and one bedroom with doorway into bath that is also accessible via the hallway. There is also a full bath on the main floor close to the living space and the 1 bedroom on that floor, a half bath on the ground level near the pool deck and an outdoor hot and cold shower with privacy surround. In total 4.5 baths plus outside shower. The beachfront pool and spa are large and there are lots of lounge chairs and other seating at the pool area. The home has several DVD players only one of which is a blu-ray. The home does have several blu-ray movies and some non blu-ray movies and we know that many of our guests like to bring their own favorite DVD’s or rent them. We will add a few more non blu-ray DVD’s to the library so that people can take them to their bedrooms or the second sitting area. This home is new, very well equipped, and there are beach chairs provided. If you are looking for other toys such as boogie boards, you should bring your own or purchase them at the store 1/2 mile away. There are 2 great convenience stores within a couple of miles of the house that can fill a lot of your needs. The grill is a gas grill and is working fine, except that it had to be serviced and cleaned out after these tenants filled it with charcoal and used it as a charcoal grill. The home does not have a charcoal grill at this time.

Coming from Ohio after a long cold winter we were looking for a place to get away and relax! Seaside Delight was exactly what we were looking for! The beach was easily accessible and practically private most days! Fishing right off shore was great, providing all 8 of us with an all-you-could-eat fish fry on our last night there. Accomodations were perfect and provided lots of privacy with each room having their own bath. Would highly recommend Seaside Delight!

Our week at Seaside Delight, was jsut that- a delight. The clean and spacious home provides a respite from our busy world. The beachfront location and private pool are wonderful, not to mention the amenities provided in the home-wifi, free long distance, pet friendly, hot and cold outdoor shower, fish cleaning station, covered parking, and more. We were so happy to be able to bring our dog, who had so much fun herself playing with the few dogs and chasing the seagulls along the beach. Recommend Boss Oyster in Applachicola and the rawbar in Indian Pass. We absolutely will return!

Seaside Delight was a great place to spend our vacation. The house was clean & felt like home. There were so many extras we appreciated. The hot/ cold outdoor shower, heated pool, screened in porch,wifi. We also greatly appreciated being able to take our dog.The list goes on & on:0) The beach was beautiful. Great shelling right in your backyard. This is not your typical beach vacation, with tons of people. It is truly a relaxing place. Would love to go back to Cape San Blas & of course,Seaside Delight.

Seaside Delight is under new ownership and management company in January 2010. The house is off the rental market while the owner makes some improvements and many upgrades and gets it ready for spring rentals starting at the end of February 2010.
