  First let me say that I was given a refund for the un used nights i stayed in this location. The agent was helpful, I never spoke to owner. I was afriad of this home, there was what appeared to be black mold in ac vents. The kids bathroom had a rotten floor- I worried they would fall thru. The underside of the house (on stilts) appeared to be rotten. The livingroom had very dirty carpets and sofas (wouldnt even sit on it without a towel over it). No washer/ dryer. Bring your own linnens and toilet paper, etc. Was concerned about my childrens safety as well as my aged Mothers health. Would not reccomend this beach house to anyone... ever.

  This was our first beach front vacation rental and first stay in Galveston. I really didn't know what to expect given some poor reviews, but we had a great time. Sure, the rental was aged due to being so close to the ocean, but it didn't bother us at all. The rental was really accommodating and everything worked well. There were two minor issues: it rained one night, which leaked water into the mater bedroom's bathroom, and the previous renters didn't place their trash out front, which didn't give us any place to put our trash in. Otherwise, everything we wanted and or needed were right there, beach, beautiful weather and relaxation. My husband loved the fact that he could just walk a few steps to the beach and fish. We have an infant and it was great for us to sit on the balcony and watch dad fish. We had such a wonderful time that we are planning to book this place four times a year.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

  We decided to take a few days and relax before school resumed. And we did so much enjoy it. Yes, the house is older and needs paint, but the interior was clean, beds were fine, nothing was ripped up or dirty inside. It functioned just fine for my husband and four daughters. The deck had a great view, we could sit and watch the girls play. And we could walk the beach and hardly see very many people, it was very quiet, almost like having your own private beach! We did run to Walmart for a few things that we expected would be there but wasn't (the only toilet paper was what was on the roll)... but we enjoyed our short stay. It was just what we needed. Very relaxing. The sound of the waves hitting the beach while we relaxed on the deck with some wine in the evening was AWESOME! And they did have some boogie boards, buckets, stuff like that for the kids to use. We definitely could have stayed a few extra days!

  I'm leaving this review as I wish some of the earlier reviewers had done. It was because of those reviews that I rented the house. I don't know where they stayed but it must have been a different house. We were quite disappointed in this property given the amount of rent that was paid. The house is older which would be fine if it was taken care of. Painting peeling off the walls, drawers in the kitchen fall out when you pull them, cabinets do not align, things broken in the bathrooms...I could go on with lots of different things that when combined mean that someone needs to pay some attention to this house. As my daughter said one night from outside "Mommy - a piece of the house just fell off". Sure enough the house trim is falling off. It was not the first piece as other pieces were also already laying on the deck. I also would not recommend leaning on the deck railing as you might find yourself falling off if you do (at least if felt that way). Also the "stocked" kitchen is in need of items. No strainer, no cookie/baking sheet, no wine or bottle opener. That was just what we needed and couldn't find. Additionally everything is also VERY old. Given the above, we did enjoy the beach and the house functioned as a place to stay while playing on the beach. We would go out in the morning, leave everything on the beach and come back on the deck for lunch, and then go back in the afternoon. We very much enjoyed the beach.

  The house has certainly seen better days but is functional. The deck is large with a great view and the beach couldn't be closer. It is close enough to leave all your stuff on the beach and pop back to the house for a rest or to chill on the deck.

  Recommended for: Families with young children.

  We stayed at this house June 9, 2012 and were very disappointed. The outside of this house does not look like the photos. There is no sandy beach. The old seaweed has not been removed for years so you only see black dried stuff and you have to walk on it to get to the water. There is no sand for children to play in. The outside of the house is in major need of repair. The inside is no better. The photos you are looking at must be from many years ago. We had to call for maintenance while there. I would not recommend this house. The quiet location is the only good thing about this place.

  Owner response: Some guests expectations are different than others. This is a beach front house and the salt air tends to take its toll. We do have a local maintenace company. With regards to the beach, please see other recent guests comments on building sandcastles and enjoying the beach. Unfortunatley seaweed is out of our control. As with all beaches on the coast counties and home owners associations have different rules in regards to removal.

  My wife and three small children stayed here for 5 nights in May 2012. The weather was beautiful and the water temperature was perfect. We built sand castles all day long. The house is as advertised, right on the beach. The two bedrooms are a good size and the kids bedroom has four beds (two bunks) that work. Both bathrooms have a bathtub which is perfect for kids. Don't forget to bring a non-slip bathtub mat because there is not one provided. The house is located near the end of a road which means it has little vehicle traffic as well as sparse beach attendence, therefore this is a nice private location for the house as well as the beach doesn't get crowded (at least in the 3rd week of May). The back patio is a very large wooden deck with some miscellaneous chairs and patio furniture. We ate most of our meals out there to enjoy the beach breeze. The kitchen drawers are not in the best working shape (difficult to pull-out, push-in) but overall the kitchen had enough equipment to cook any meal for a family. I would recommend this place to a family looking to have a nice beach-front vacation. We also brought our Labrador dog and she had a nice time as well (we paid the pet fee of course). I wish the back patio had a closing/locking gate so the dog couldn't go down the patio stairs. We improvised by pushing some of the patio furniture to block the path to the stairs.

  Thank you so much for sharing your beach home with my mother, my fur-baby and myself! It was the perfect rejuvenation for our salt water soul! I was truly amazed at how clean the home is. Usually, things are sticky from the salt air that close to the beach but there was nothing sticky in this home – perfectly clean! The kitchen is stocked with lots of dishes, pots & pans, blender and everything we could have ever needed (and more). The reservation process with very simple and responses were prompt to my questions. We spent most of our time on the patio or on the beach, just steps from the patio. Bermuda beach is quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay and hated to leave. Thank you again for sharing your little piece of salt water heaven!

  I had always wanted to take my kids on a big spring break trip and this was definitely a dream vacation we will always cherish. The home is so amazing, right on the beach. Being able to step out on the balcony and watch my kids run on the beach with their boogie boards was priceless. The home is set up perfectly. Huge benefit for each bedroom to have their own full bathrooms and the kids loved that their “own room” had double bunk beds and drawers for them to put their clothes. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed plus more! The overall décor of the home is perfectly accented with the beach house them and there were so many little extra’s we had no reason to want for anything. Having our own private beach was so amazing and we looked forward each morning to collecting shells and visiting with the other early risers on the beach walking their dogs. The patio was where we spent most of the time in the evenings with plenty of seating options and it was great to take our flashlights down to the beach and watch the crabs. The location of this home is perfect. Bermuda beach is beautiful, the neighbors were wonderful and just a short drive from the sea wall and the other attractions. We loaded up with groceries from the Wal-Mart just down the road which was wonderful to have most of our meals at the house. Not only saving us money but giving us more “BEACH” time. Booking this trip was a great experience. It was my first time to do something like this and the owners were so helpful and great to work with. They were huge in making this dream vacation a reality. It felt like it was our vacation home and we absolutely hated to leave. With a tear in my eye saying goodbye to the beach, my kids looked and me and said “Can we come back again? This was the best vacation ever.” With is also just being a short 5 hour drive from DFW. . . We will defiantly be back as soon as we can. Thank you for everything!
