  John and Laurie my family and I enjoyed staying in your beautiful beach home the weekend of Thanksgiving. Everything was perfect for all who stayed. Great location and we loved the easy access to the beach. We will be intouch for next year. Thanks again for allowing us the pleasure to stay.

  Our family decided on Thanksgiving again at the beach this year. Requiring a little more room than usual, we came accross this 5 bedroom home and decided to inquire. I am so glad we did. It was very spacious and it felt home. The owners were "AMAZING". We had wonderful weather everyday and we were able to enjoy morning walks on the beach. Thanks John and Laurie

  We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay at Surfside Beach. A big thank you to Laurie and John for being so accommodating. The house was large enough for our entire family. We loved how close it was to the beach, the outside shower and the second floor laundry. The house is very confortable and decorated nicely. We have rented several times from VRBO and this has been the best experience thus far. Thanks again to the home owners and we look forward to our next visit to Surfside Beach.

  The house is large enough to hold all 10 members of my family (children included), but we had no idea it was a duplex. The noise from the neighbors was rarely a problem, because our neighbors happened to be another quiet family just like ours. If there were a group of younger/partier people though - I would have been pretty upset. The house was very nice and mostly clean. A few problem areas were the bathtub, and carport area. I'm sure the carport area is tough to keep clean with all the sand\traffic, but it just felt a little dirty/unkept.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

  Owner response: Our house is described as a duplex. We and our neighbors rent primarily to families. Guests have always been respectful and courteous just as in your experience.

  As we reunite every year with our former Marine Corps families, we try our best to find a home to accomodate our needs and this home made the fit! Thank you to John and Laurie for responding to any questions that we may have had prior to, during, or after our stay! The only recommendation that we had was perhaps a larger, maybe mobile grill, but the current grill worked and got the job done. We may have used it more had it been more convenient. Otherwise, a great home and very home-like atmosphere. Short walk to the beach and the chairs provided were used every day! Thank you!

  We had a great time here. The owners were wonderful to deal with! The house was clean and spacious. It was with a nice and close walk to the beach with a ramp access close by for strollers and wagons! We will definitely stay here again!!

  Excellent stay, the weather was really bad cold and raining for just about the whole 10 days. The house was perfect, large enough for everyone, 13 of us, to have our space during the bad weather days. The pool was nice, used it once. The dealings with the ower was VERY easy, he was kind and helpful at every turn.

  This location was perfect for our family of six. The home was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The open area of the kitchen, dining room, and living room was perfect for our family to gather before, during, and after meal times. I especially loved the large dining table, so that we were able to all sit together to eat. The proximity to the beach was wonderful. It was so nice to be able to walk right to the beach. Two years ago during a previous stay in Surfside, my car was full of sand from driving back and forth to the beach every day! The rolling cart provided by the owner worked wonderfully for hauling our cooler and other beach items. I loved the layout of the house. The first floor had a bedroom, and the other four bedrooms were located upstairs. The second floor laundry was very convenient for us to use. The balconies were nice too, and it was nice to have one off the master suite. I would definitely recommend this property to larger families. It was a perfect spot where each of us could relax and have our "own space". Another plus with this home was that each bedroom has cable television, which our children really enjoyed. We spent most of our vacation at the beach, swimming in the pool, or traveling into Myrtle Beach for activities. We cooked many of our own meals, but also ate out at River City Cafe and had some great burgers. We also had a fun dining experience at Carlos and Charlie's, located at Broadway at the Beach. We spent lots of time playing miniature golf, going to the batting cages nearby, and we also spent time at the WonderWorks attraction located at Broadway at the Beach. The only recommendation that I would have is perhaps to include more cookware in the kitchen. The appliances were great, but some larger skillets and pots would have been more helpful to cook meals for a larger group. The neighborhood was relatively quiet, other than some noisy moments from our next door neighbors on the other side of the duplex. The only downside to a duplex is hearing feet pounding up and down the stairs, as well as conversations and closing doors. We expected this when we chose a duplex over a private home, however, and it wasn't really a problem for us. We had a great time and are definitely interested in returning for a future visit!

  Really liked Surfside Beach, house was situated in an excellent location; rented a golf cart for the week and went everywhere we wanted. House was large so everyone was not on top of each other and the pool was great for the kids. Could have been a tad bit cleaner, but chalked that up to just being there late in the summer season. Would definately stay here again!

Being a first time home renter we thought you would enjoy the extra space compared to a hotel as well as the private pool and location just half a block from the beach. Our guests are usually families of 6 to 12 so the house does have heavy volume throughout the summer and this starts to show especially on the family room carpet. We plan on upgrading to hardwood floors this off season to better withstand the traffic. We are glad you stayed with us and enjoyed Surfside as much as we do.
