Location is everything and the 2 br/2 ba Surfrider Suite is a minutes walk from Poipu Beach, the sunniest spot on Kauai. Hale Koali Villa at Beachside Poipu is perfect for families and groups. The Surfrider (top floor) and the Tidepools suite (garden level) are great for up to 6 guest or they can be joined as a 3000 sq/ft 4 BR - 4 BA vacation home for up to 12 guest.
We have taken great pride in providing everything you need for a perfect vacation getaway including wi-fi if you can't tear yourself away from the internet. Each suite has been personally decorated with a tropical island flair and all bedrooms feature beautiful, handmade Hawaiian bedspreads. Each kitchen is fully equipped with china, cookware and all utensils for tropical dining. Beach chairs, mats, coolers, and beach toys for the kids are available to Beachside Poipu guests.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
We initially bought the property in 1978 with thoughts to live close to the beach and retire here. Moved here in 1989 and built 2 houses but unfortunately, they got wiped out in Hurricane Iniki in 1992. We rebuilt one home, Hale Koali Villa (Surfrider & Tidepools Suites) and decided to rent it out as a vacation rental. In 2002 we moved back and rebuilt the second home on property Hale Pua Villa (Breakers, Hibiscus & Seaside Suites).
The Unique Benefits at this House
To us this is the most perfect location in Poipu as it is only a minutes walk to Brennecke's Boogey Boarding Beach and Poipu Beach Park. We are one of the 3 vacation rentals this close to the beach in Poipu. We have really tried with our personal touches to make this a very special island holiday get-away without the expense of staying in a hotel. Located in this charming neighborhood creates special memories for all that have stayed with us.

Ed & I, (Kathy Bates, not the famous actress) retired here after working & living in Hong Kong for 8 years running a wine business. Decided it was time to move back home to the USA in the fall 2002. Our home Hale Koali Villa (formerly Peri Hale) was managed by a vacation rental company while we were living overseas, once we returned to Kauai we decided to try our hand at enjoying managing our home ourselves. We built the second home on property Hale Pua Villa in 2003 with the thoughts of living there ourselves and decided we wanted to be upcountry for more
space, so now live on 3 acres and added Hale Pua Villa to our rentals. We have just the 2 homes located 150 paces to Poipu Beach Park. We wanted to be able to share this beautiful spot with our many visitors to the island. We have found our property to be one of the special spots on the island due to its great close location to the beach.
