My husband and I spent 2 weeks at this location. The loft was very clean and looks just like it does in the pictures. The kitchen was adequate. We had no plans to cook meals so we were not bothered by the lack of cooking utensils. The microwave, sink and refrigerator were all that we needed. We used the basement laundry several times and it proved to be very convenient. The loft is located in a great location. It is very easy to walk to the subway to go downtown, we even walked downtown several times. Central Park is very close and we enjoyed eating in the neighborhood restaurants. There is a wonderful cookie place (insomnia cookies) right around the corner and Luke's (on Amsterdam) has delicious lobster rolls. We had a very nice stay in the loft. The only thing keeping us from giving it a 5 star rating is the loft bed. It was awkward getting into the bed and almost impossible to make. Still, we would stay here again.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This apartment is within a very short walk to all the transportation you shall need and having a 24 hour doorman adds that bit more of a good feeling. There are loads of bars and resturants in the area. The apartment was very clean and for us, exactly as advertised. The owner was only a phone call away should we need it, which we never and his contact before the booking was excellent. I would recommend this apartment for anyone visiting anywhere in the city. I would stay here again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Couldn't ask for a better location. Within walking distance to 2 subway lines, tons of good restaurants, and just about anything else you need. If I lived in NYC this is the area I'd want to be. The door staff is excellent and friendly. Has to be some of the best in the city. The apartment is as shown and very clean. If you plan to cook a lot during your stay, you may be disappointed. Very little in the way of pots, pans, etc. it was no problem for us because we ate out but just letting everyone know. Overall we would stay here again and recommend it highly.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

You can’t really ask for more in a New York City vacation: A safe, clean building with a 24/7 doorman (Building staff is amazing and very helpful). A GREAT location (close to the train, the park, the museum and what not..). Awesome apartment, super clean and super quiet, newly renovated with a great fully working kitchen. Stayed here with my kids (total of 4 people) and it was very convenient and accomedating.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed here 5 nights in May, 2012. I agree with previous guests who love this great UWS location! However, the unit itself disappointed. It does NOT have a "fully equipped kitchen" as advertised. No microwave, no large bowls to mix or serve, only 2 cooking pans, only 2 forks. No dining table, just a bar (NOT a breakfast bar) & 3 barstools... and a baby's highchair. The oddly-designed Italian oven was hard to use, & no instructions! I called owner & 2 days later got verbal instructions how to light it. I had told the owner beforehand that I had plans to cook & give a dinner party, & was not told that the kitchen lacked most basics. The party wound up as a picnic on the floor. Other misrepresentations: The "balcony" isn't at all private. It's barren & barely more than a fire escape. The "great closet space" is one closet, with no accommodation for hanging long garments, unless folded, but otherwise adequate. The owner's cleaning service does a pretty good job, but someone needs to take the duvet and pillows to any one of the 5 or 6 laundry/cleaning services in the area. The pillows & comforter smell like too many previous people who've used them. The bathroom sink stopper works only if you manipulate the levers under the sink; the one on the faucet itself is broken. The wifi, TV, & the refrigerator all work very well. The building's doormen are all very nice & helpful. The elevators work. This apartment is probably fine for young party-goers who want only a bed and a shower. But we'd been led to expect a bit more, and we didn't find it a much better value than one of the UWS's old hotel suites with kitchenette. The apartment is basically OK, but needs some TLC and a more generous furnishing of equipment.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 7/7

We stayed in this loft apartment from Sept 30 to Oct 8, 2011 and we had a fabulous time. The loft is just as the photos show and the location could not be better. It is just a short walk from the apartment to Central Park and the subway is a block away. There are so many good restaurants to choose from on Amsterdam, but we especially enjoyed the food at Monaco, Sarabeth's and Good Enough to Eat (all within a short walk). The doormen were very helpful and the owner is easy to get hold of. We would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My friend and I stayed here for 3 days in May. The location is perfect, just two blocks from beautiful Central Park. This studio offers far more space than NYC hotels. It was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is quite nice with stainless steel appliances; however it is not really equipped for cooking. This was not a problem for us, but it may be for someone planning an extended stay. The doorman was very helpful and the street nice and quiet. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The apartment was exactly as expected and was well reflected in the ad for it both in text and image. It was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The neighborhood around it is perfect, so close to so many great places to eat and shop. It's also very close to the subway. This neighborhood is more quiet than any of the tourist trap ones but it was still a quick jaunt to those areas. The owner was helpful, easy to deal with and easy to get in touch with. I can't wait to go back to New York and when I do, I'll definitely stay here if it's available. So of course, I would most definitely recommend this to anyone coming to NY! Some of the eating spots we enjoyed in the area were Recipe, Al Dente and Zabars!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We loved staying here. One of us is originally from the area, so being here again was special. The apartment is well-appointed and clean, with a lovely kitchen and comfortable sleeping loft. The owner was wonderful to work with, and was very responsive to our needs. Whether you're making a first-time visit or returning to New York, this is the place to be. The neighborhood has all the restaurants and services you need. The doormen are great and transportation couldn't be more convenient. We'll be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife wanted to show me NYC, so she booked this loft on the upper west side. It's a very clean, updated, modern design loft! The neighborhood is great, with Central Park only 2 blocks away and lots of restaurants in all directions. In fact, make sure you try Monaco right across the street. The owner was easy to work with and very responsive to our inquiries. We were hoping to cook in the beautiful kitchen a little more, but there were very few utensils. Also no WiFi, only hard line ethernet. Minor complaints. Overall it was excellent.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and would have loved to stay longer but we had to go on to Boston. The description is exceedingly accurate but the pictures do not do it justice. The apt. is perfectly clean and the kitchen great. There is also a bar which is a bonus. The small balcony is perfect to be able to go outside without having to leave the building. The owner Guy is easy to get a hold of and is most helpful. We are going to stay here again as soon as I can get away from work. All the comments b4 this are very accurate and I will not repeat them except to say if you can get to stay here it will be very enjoyable and most convenient to all of Manhattan. I would only add that breakfast at Marybells around the corner on Amsterdam should not be missed.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My husband and I stayed here with our 21 month old daughter for a week. We LOVED the street, the apartment, and the neighborhood. We had plenty of room for us in the apt. and was wonderfully surprised with a chest of toys and a highchair for our toddler. We saved money by cooking breakfast in the nice kitchen every morning. There is plenty of places to eat nearby...we can vouch for the Cuban sandwiches at Cafe con Leche, the Pizza by LaGrolla, chinese take out at Amsterdam & 80th St., the soups at Hale & Hearty, and the coffee at Zabars( we brought 3 lbs back!). There is a nice little market a couple blocks away called Westside Market where we got some groceries& produce at. We got a great deal at the wine place at 79th (by 3 bottles of wine, get a bottle free). We enjoyed our nightly walks to different places like the Barnes and Noble a few blocks over and shopping on Amsterdam. We absolutely LOVED the Children's Museum of Manhattan that is, literally, right down the street. The doorman was very nice and very helpful to all our questions about the subway. The apartment and street were quiet. We were very happy with our stay!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My sister and I took a "girls" trip to NYC, and this studio apartment was just what we needed. The location is convenient to shopping, museums, Central Park, the subway, and many restaurants right around the corner. The apartment was safe, and our landlord went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This place was great! We're a middle aged couple who didn't want the hassle or expense of booking a hotel, and were so lucky to find this place. The doorman is fantastic and this apartment was a dream -- gorgeous kitchen and plenty of space. We went for a jog every morning in Central Park and grabbed coffee from the cute coffeeshop around corner! We can't wait to go back next year!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was our first time in New York, I took my 2 kids for a taste from the big apple, and i loved were we stayed! It was easy to deal with the owner and really easy to book. I liked the flat because of the great size it had (2 adults + 2 kids), giving us some actual living space (not like in a hotel room).Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Liked being close to Central Park for morning walks, and neighborhood has best restaurants. Will return!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
