Hello, our names are Sam and Spencer Liebowitz. Valentine's Day at the Lakeside Country Cottages. It was awesome, to say the least! The first thing we loved about this place is the exceptional customer service, provided by a very adorable and sweet lady, Nona=) We ought to admit, that we are very picky and demanding, nevertheless Nona showed us a variety of cabins to chose from with a different outlay. So we picked one. The cleanliness of the was impeccable, everything was cleaned and decorated to a like-new condition. The grill was readily available and whatever our needs were, were promptly addressed by the caretaker. It is a relaxing short walk to the lake(I've seen a review that bluntly LIES about the absence of the lake!It can't just DISAPPEAR!!!). Outside the cabin we had a fireplace, where we had a few BBQs..Amazing, to say the least. We are definitely recommending these cottages to all friends couples or even single people who're looking to get away and spend some quality , quiet and fun romantic or personal relaxing time! Excellent, clean and fun cottage! Had a blast on New Years Eve with friends. Skiing close by. Customer service was A+ Everything we had wished for to celebrate the New Year. I recommend this to those who want to get away from it. Will defiantly come back again!

This place might be good for kids on spring break,but not for adults actually expecting a clean cabin. The cabin was not clean (WE CLEANED IT) the mattresses should be thrown out. The walls are paper thin,if one person wakes up- you are all up. The furniture needs to be thrown out, we covered it just to feel comfortable to sit on it. We expected easy access to the water and there wasn't any on the property. The cabins back up to a loud busy road-not a nice setting. I will come back to lake wallenpaupack next year just not to this place. Nona was helpful and pleasant, but still would never stay here again. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There is a screened in porch with no furniture. Most of the cabins smell either musty or of cigarettes. DON'T STAY HERE.

After reading such great reviews on the cottages, we expected to stay in a place much like the pictures on this website. Unfortunately, when we arrived it looked more like a say .. a rundown and deteriorating cabin? Let me first start by saying I definitely knew we weren't going to a motel or anything remotely fancy even but this was NOTHING like the pictures posted. We were obviously given the non renovated ones because ours looked nothing like the pictures advertised. We walked in and the "cottage" smelled like urine that may have been sitting in the room for awhile. Needless to say we went to the nearest gas station to get Febreeze immediately. The cushions on the 3 person sofa looked like it had never been cleaned, we made sure to put towels on it so we didn't have to sit on it with our bare skin. One seat was missing the support beam under the cushion so if you sat on it you fell right into it. There were 4 of us so we took the "bedrooms" downstairs. The whole place was like one studio, with a thin wooden wall that separated the rooms from the living room and another thin wood wall to separate the two beds to make it two "bedrooms". Neither room had doors - only a flimsy curtain. On the walls of the rooms were carved out writings of who loved who, and who were "BFFs 4eva" almost like this was a spring break hideout for highschool kids. The bed in the room was lopsided, so whoever slept on the farthest end would roll towards the middle. The screens on the windows of the place, were stapled into the wood. The bathroom was more like a portable shower - with scalding HOT water leaking from the faucet knobs, you had to make sure you weren't standing too close to it which was difficult for anyone that was normal size. Lastly, it rained on the weekend that we stayed and the kitchen was leaking everywhere. we had pots and tubs so that we wouldn't have to keep mopping and wiping the floor and the counters. The porch had a rotten beam that ran the length of it, so when it rained the four of us had to put our chairs as close to the cabin outside wall as possible in order to stay away from the water leaking through. So I am not sure if we had a bait and switch situation , but i would never stay in one of these cottages again.

My husband, dog, and I have stayed here and always enjoy it! This was our third stay. We have stayed in the cabins twice and in the cottage once. The cabins are clean and pleasant. Nonna and Andrew are kind, informative, accoomodating, and wonderful. They both know just how to make a stay more enjoyable. We plan on bringing up a group of friends in the future. After reviewing the property's description we contacted the owner who referred us to their website. We reviewed their photos and decided to try it. The check in process was a little quirky - calling a cell phone and directed to an apartment above a vacant retail space across the highway to sign in and pay cash. The view was spectacular, as promised, but the cottage was a 1930's era cabin that hadn't been updated in at least 40 years - one duplex outlet in the living room, one in the kitchen (the fridge took up one of the two) and one in the bathroom. The "bedroom doors" were curtains and the bed took up 90% of the space - the head of the mattress touched the left wall, while the foot touched the right.The interior walls were stained plywood panels and covered in graffiti - announcing that Sunil "81" had been there, as well as Katlyn. The place was broom-clean when we got there and serviceable, but when we were packing up for check-out, I did find a cigarette butt and a sock under the bed we did not use. We were shocked at the condition because the rate was higher than many NY Metro area hotels. Given the distance we had come and that it was Friday after July 4th, we felt that we could live with it. We found out that other places a couple of miles down the road, had very nice rooms, with Breakfast, for a third less on the weekends. We'll be going to one of those the next time we go to Lake Wallenpaupack

Went with my friends for a memorial day weekend - had so much fun! Not only was there so much to do in such a short period of time, but the price was very low for a fun and relaxing weekend. The housekeeper was very hospitable and provided us with all the neccesities. Definitely coming back for the july 4th weekend.

We stayed at the Lakeside Country Cottages with my boyfriend and had an amazing time!!!!!!!!! It"s a very cozy, quite and romantic place.... The cottages are clean, comfortable and well equiped. We are planning to go back there soon! Moreover, I would recomend this type of vacation to my friends because it"s a place where you can relax and receave everything what you need!!!!! Just try it out and you will see !!!!

It was a greatest week to spend in this place!!! My family think this place nice and neat!!!The cabin was sooooo cute with a lot of details in!!! I went to LakesideCottages for my Memorial Day Weekend and was very surprised that the cabin was very well decorated and clean. Also, we had a fireplace in there and it made me feel very good. I was surprised to find out that all the mattresses in the bedrooms were brand new and all the appliances also. We had a campfire at night and surprisingly no insects were bothering my sensitive skin. Why did I only buy 3 bottles of insect repellent?? We had a great BBQ and great first night. It was quiet, peaceful and we were just stargazing. All the other night were even better as we started enjoying ourselves more. Nona and Andrew were sweethearts. Very caring people! Thank You very much

Great clean place. Very well maintained and cared for. This memorial day will stay in my memory forever! I LOVED it here in my cabin. It was newly renovated with very happy colors :) . Looked like a propositional decorator or a designer worked in there. Me and my wife had on of the best memorial days in many many years!!!! I will definitely come back again and will recommend all my friends this place :) . The working staff was super friendly , especially Nonna. She was ready to answer any questions I had ( I did not even need my computer to look up the places) . Thank You personally! We had a great swim in the lake as the water was warm. Fishing is unbelievable at this place may be because it is located in the lagoon where all the bass goes. I had a nice folding chair a beer and a fishing pole. Greatest sunsets ever. Best Hidden Place on Earth!

Hello, my fellow travelers! My name is Larissa Laskowski, and Im am writing this review not solely on my own behalf but also on behalf on my husband Ben Laskowski, My son and daughter in law and my beautiful twin grandchildren!!! This was our 3rd stay in the Lakeside Country Cottages, and each year we return, we can't help but see more and more improvements like in the lake Wallenpaupack(the most beautiful lake I've ever seen!) The cottage we stayed in was very comfy and cozy-we had a fireplace inside our house, the kitchen and the living room were very clean. So were the necessary utensils. And what a staff did we have! That sweetheart young lady Nonna, helped us with everything we needed, before we even had to ask. She completely dedicates herself to her job, and has no attitude, rather friendliness and open heart. We even invited her and her boyfriend to dinner by the outside fireplace with us. That evening was amazing:) Next day we were shown the beautiful lake,: oh Gosh, what a view, how calm is it. Ben, my husband , caught some nice fish, later we took a boat trip. If you could only imagine how beautiful the nights in Wallenpaupack are. You can see every star, and there are no city noises, so we all slept like little babies. Next year I am planning to come to LCC for out anniversary with Ben. I recommend it to EVERYONE: whether you are a young couple, or an older one, a family or are just trying to have a ersonal getaway-Lakeside Country Cottages and it's staff will make you want to come for more! I live in NY and sometimes it's necessary to get away from the loud noise of this big city.... A few years ago i found a beautiful place for a quiet getaway. It is Lakeside Country Cottages. A cozy, relaxing place with a wonderful surroundings, a huge lake and beautiful nature. i always come back from there relaxed, refreshed, full of energy and feeling like a new person!!!!!

We were referred to this place by our friends who are regular visitors of Lakeside Cottages. We really enjoyed our stay, it was a quiet weekend and warm days. The lady that facilitates the check ins and check outs is very friendly. We already booked our next stay with them for August. Looking forward to coming back.

The pictures on the web site are a collection from all the cottages but there is no cottage to look like ot the pictures. I tried to contact the owner and left a message but received no call back. The same happened after i spoke to Nonna. The cottage was nothing as it was advertised, the kitchen was far from fully equipped, all the glasses and utensils were very dirty and we had to scrub them before use. The table clothe was extremely dirty so we had to remove if from the table. The fridge was full of mould so we had to keep the food outside. The ceiling on the porch was hanging and was very mouldy as was the ceiling in the house. There were only four hangers and i asked Nonna for a few more but never got them. The shelf was dirty and ready to fall so we had to keep out clothes on the chairs. The radiator in the bathroom was rusty, let alone the bath tub. Half of the lights were out. The windows had only 3 blinds and no curtains and there was spider webs everywhere. We will never go there again.

Owner response: Although we love receiving reviews and feedback what we love even more is receiving genuine and HONEST reviews. We understand that we cannot get better without feedback, good or bad. Simeon's review is deceiving and his intent on staying with us had a hidden agenda from the very beginning, what we only found out AFTER he checked out. To address Simeons false statements: 1. The owner couldn't be contacted because he was on vacation and that NEVER effects our guests since at all times our housekeeper is available who lives ON SITE. Simeon had her phone # from the beginning, that's how he was able to check in and receive keys to begin with. 2. Never in the last 3+ years have we had anyone say that the cottages are not what they appear to be on the web. He selected a winterize cottage which was prepared for off seasonal renting. Upon arrival Simeon was shown the cottage he chose online, which was prepared for his arrival, only to find that he didn't want to stay in it. He asked to be shown other cottages and then made a CONSCIOUS decision to stay in a less expensive cabin which wasn't ready to be rented during off season. At that point he asked for a partial refund which we have made right away. AFTER he got his refund he then insisted to stay for free and asked for a full refund. If someone asks for a FULL refund due to their dislike of the cabin they wouldn't insist on staying more nights. It was clear to our house keeper that he was looking for a free ride. The place was left a MESS according to our housekeeper. Seemed like Simeon was on a mission to do some damage, moral and financial. Again, we welcome all feedback as long as it's honest and genuine. We stayed at the Lakeside Country Cottages as a fam of 4 and had a good time. The cottages are cozy and conveniently located to main intersections. Highly recommend it for a quiet getaway whether for a fam or just couples. You do have to bring your own towels though and if you intend on doing some outdoor grilling bring your own charcoal.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners.

t I was a little leery of what to expect since it was last minute find, however I was pleasantly surprised. The cottage was very clean, I am a clean freak so this was big. I brought everything but the kitchen sink when I packed not knowing what to expect and was surprised to see all the little extras that were included in the cottage. I didn;t have to bring half the stuff the actually packed. The kitchen was so cute and set up so nicely. Extra trash bags were folded in triangles and places in a special way. There was even a bathroom shower rug, throw away shower cap and extra shampoo and conditioner. Lets not forget the fresh flowers on the tables. I was also very surprised to see a tv in the living room but since it rained almost every night I was glad to of had it and the movie rental place just down the road. Now for the bad side...the cottage was right of the main highway, the first night was the hardest it sounded like the trucks were going to come right through the bedroom window. By the second night after jet skiing and hitting the beach at "Promise Land State Park" I was too tired to even care and slept like a baby. You do have to drive everywhere unless you own your own boat. The fire pit was in a weird spot and you could only sit on the one side of it due to over grown grass and weeds. Don't get me wrong the cottages were extremely well taken care of and alot of effort was taking by the staff to make sure you felt special with all the little touches. If only they could move the cottages more into the woods they would definitely have themselves a fantastic place to get away as it is now the traffic never stopped even walking down to the docks you could still hear the trucks. We were there from Monday to Friday and found the location of the cottage was right in the middle of everything. We did Jet skiing, tubing, boating, water skiing, horseback riding and Kayaking. We also got great pictures by the falls. Sadly we won't visit again only because of the traffic noise and only for that reason.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Our family had a great time here. Nonna and Andrew (the caretakers) were very helpful pointing at places were to go and if we needed anything they were on it. We liked the simplicity of things here- very easy going. Our dog had THE BEST time and so did our 3 year old son. Although we did not go swimming of their piers we did find beautiful swimming spots very nearby . We are thinking of coming back next year. Thanks for a great and affordable vacation! I, along with my children, stayed at Lakeside Country Cottages last summer. we enjoyed our time there very much. the place has ahuge lake and my kids love to swim... It was a very quiet and relaxing getaway! I reserved a cottage there this summer as well. I recomend it to anyone, who plans a family vacation!!!!!

I recently stayed at Lakeside Country Cottages with my husband and daughter and we had an amazing time. Located right by the lake, it made me wish that I lived there. The staff is super friendly. Nonna (spelling?) and Andrew went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Betty and Alex were sure to respond to my emails freakishly fast (and sometimes I think they replied even on their days off). They are very devoted to what they do and I look forward to coming back again in the summer. See you guys soon!

Very nice weekend getaway. The lake was so beautiful, we loved going out on the boat. Rubber Duckie Rentals, were very friendly. Thanks so much for the rental. Nona and Andrew were very nice, and friendly and so helpful. The cabins were clean, and very cozy. I would recommend this property to my friends and relatives. Our dog just loved it. My best vacation

I have been staying every summer at Lakeside Country Cottages and it is in much better shape than it was a few years ago. I had a very pleasant stay there this July. I would even say this was one of my many best vacations. Also, I saw that they have a new management and it adds a lot of points to this place. The staff was very kind to us and looks like the place is in good hands now. I liked the new color of cottages as they have been just painted and I liked the inside of the cottage I was staying at. It was very clean and neat and it had everything I needed inside. The shower was very clean same as the kitchen and everything else. My husband enjoyed it very much too. He says that this stay made us very close to each other because we both enjoyed it there. I liked the idea of this place being renovated and I am very thankful for the changes because as i said before we have been coming to this place for many years and it haven't been better than now. I have been staying every summer at Lakeside Country Cottages and it is in much better shape than it was a few years ago. I had a very pleasant stay there this July. I would even say this was one of my many best vacations. Also, I saw that they have a new management and it adds a lot of points to this place. The staff was very kind to us and looks like the place is in good hands now. I liked the new color of cottages as they have been just painted and I liked the inside of the cottage I was staying at. We had a great time at the cabin. The lake was beautiful, we used the rowboat, both grills, and we cooked delicious meals in the kitchen. And most important of all, our dog loved it. We'll be back.
