My name is Al; I am a Real Estate Agent in South Orange County Ca. If it's all about Location, Location, Location! Well, this is it. It’s a nice big tasty slice of paradise in a pristine area on the Sea Of Cortez. My 2 Amigos and myself enjoyed 7 days at this nicely appointed and well laid out home. We fished, we ate, we hiked, we swam, we floated, we slept, we laughed, we napped, we read, we kayaked, we snorkeled, we listened to relaxing music and we did not watch TV and we never even missed it for a minute. The nights were laden with twinkling stars that got the philosophical talks started only to be interrupted by the "WOW" of a shooting star or the flat slap of a jumping Bat Ray. I normally don't sleep well when traveling. I slept soundly every night! Teri is extremely helpful and Manolo, (Their Friend & Caretaker" will help you with any things that you have questions about. As our vacation was all about relaxing we never ate out so I can't recommend any restaurants. Do go to Cabo Pulmo for snorkeling, it’s only about a 1/2 hour drive and well worth it. We will be back very soon. Al

Our family of four came back again for a second stay at Casita de Lunes. It was paradise again. Utmost relaxation, solitude, excellent fishing and beach time. If you are looking to get away from it all, yet be close enough to town (15 minutes) to eat well and buy supplies, this is a great choice. The location of this house is priceless. The beach is right at your door with access to miles of quiet, gorgeous beaches. Manolo, the caretaker, makes you feel right at home.

We had such a fabulous time. It really is a blissful vacation; to be 'unplugged' from the office, internet, etc. The hot sunny weather was perfect. Daily fishing and swimming was excellent. We saw whales every day! Fun to witness Semana Santa too. Such an asset to have Manolo (caretaker & amigo). What a great friend and neighbor to have there. My parents look forward to another visit. They wished they had stayed longer. Wish we were still down there!

I told my son he could sleep in the master bedroom until Kate and I got there. Needless to say after four years on Marine Corps bunks/ground, waking up to that view is a memory he will cherish forever. Thank you both for sharing all of it with us.

I had a wonderful time playing in the kayak, watching reys fly out of the water, dolphins swimming and the great sunsets. The house is very comfortable for all 6 of us and cool even in the heat of the day. Beautiful beach walking without a crowd too.

What a great time for all. The house is beautiful, functional, and perfect for indoor-outdoor living. I awakened the first morning to the sight of a flat, glassy sea through the bedroom window and could even see fish rising. So, I threw on my clothes, grabbed my fly rod, and not much later landed my first roosterfish on a fly rod. Small, but beautiful. My understanding from the local guides is that the bigger roosters enter the area in large numbers in May and stay through the summer. For the first few days we had over two miles of beach virtually to ourselves, a but more traffic entered by midweek since it was vacation time for school children. Kayaking was fun. We didn't test the boogie boards but the waves would have been perfect for them on windier days. We want to come back!!

Casita de Lunes was a home away from home. It was very comfortable with all the amenities of home. The location was amazing. The beach was clean and deserted, while the sea life was active and abundant. Our family was able to relax, walk for miles on the beaches, swim in the calm ocean, and truly enjoy hours of playing. I didn't have to worry about the kids next to the ocean. Truly the best vacation we've taken in years. Without a doubt I would return to this house and location.

Thank you Teri and Rick for sharing your warm and inviting home. After 8 years of exploring BCS, my family and I feel we have found a home we want to return to again and again. Perfect location with beautiful, peaceful surroundings, yet only a 20 minute drive into the village of LaRibera for all supplies you might need for your stay. Miles of gorgeous, deserted beaches to explore to the north and south. It is located in a very quiet, mostly unoccupied development. We were quite content to stay at the property for days on end. The fishing and was fabulous. The caretaker, Manolo, was wonderful and beyond helpful. Excellent for families with children. The beachfront location is priceless. It was a blissful vacation. Wish I was still there right now!

We just loved our time in Casita de Lunes. The closest village, La Ribera, is and still has the feeling of, an old fishing village. Few streets are paved; it is thinly populated; tourists are few and far between. In the nearby development where Casita de Lunes, the first house built there, is located, there are still only a small number of houses, for the most part widely dispersed, and the vast stretches of beach are almost empty. Practically and emotionally, Casita de Lunes has everything you need, and much you did not realize you needed. You can feel the thoughtful, loving consideration that went into the center-courtyard design and furnishings. Indoors and out, it has generous areas for gathering and dining as well as quiet corners for reading and napping. The house is also beautifully designed for guests, with a master bedroom and bath that look directly onto the beach and Sea of Cortez, and a separate wing with two more bedrooms with a commodious shared bath. Step outside, and swimming, fishing, shelling, kayaking (there are two) and miles of beach walking are right there for you. The owners were wonderful to deal with by phone and email, and Manolo, their onsite person who was around daily to see what we might need or what questions we might have, was a delight to deal with.

Hey Teri, thanks so much. your house was truly lovely and we will tell our friends about it and may try to come back at a different time of year. I don't think (September)is a good time of year to have to cook in a non air conditioned kitchen. And all the restaurants were closed for dinner because it was off season. but I can imagine that the house is just a dream when it isn't that hot. the few nights when there was a breeze were nice and the heat was bearable. A high point of the trip was that Charles caught two pacific needlenoses off the kayak. That was the tastiest fish I have ever eaten and it sooo delighted me to see a fish with aquamarine bones and teeth. just amazing! hope all is well in taos. take care, Katarina

We had a great time at your place. The house was very nice--complete with humpbacks breaching out front. A perfect spot to read Log from the Sea Of Cortez mixed in with kayaking, snorkeling, hiking, fishing and eating fresh fish, and general R&R. Manolo was a lot of fun to be around and talk to. As he says, "Se todo". Had a good day out fishing with one of his amigos. I was surprised with the apparent low numbers of turistas, which was a pleasant surprise for some of us. Not sure how much of that is from economic lows vs the bad PR in the media from what sounds more like northern baja border drug problems. Hopefully the Cabo Riviera development will not change the character of the La Ribera area too much. Thanks again for sharing your place. We look forward to returning.--phil

I recently rented the Casita de Lunes property and spent 9 days there with my father and a friend. We have made the trip to La Ribera 5 times in the past 9 years and this was, by far, the nicest location that we have stayed at. The house and courtyard are very spacious and could have easily accommodated 5-6 more people, comfortably. The location was amazing. A pristine beach and incredible view of the Sea of Cortez from the master bedroom, dining, living rooms and kitchen. During the entire 9 days we only saw 4 other people on the beach. We walked and kayaked to Lighthouse point, Punta Colorada, several times and literally had several miles of pristine beach to our selves. I launched my kayak from the beach directly in front of the house and caught Sierra, Skip Jack, and Yellow Fin Tuna all on my fly rod. We drove into La Ribera via a 15 minute drive along the dunes and beaches, to meet up with our panga captain and enjoyed several days of fantastic fishing. The property was very safe and I hope to return with my entire family next year - the children would love this place. Also, want to say thank you to Rick, Teri, and Manolo for being professional and so pleasant to work with on the rental process! Great overall experience!!

Our group of four adults and three early-teens kids fit very comfortably and the beach is truly right there. We hardly saw a soul the whole week. A great antidote to the clamor and ugliness of the overdevelopment of Cabo, and even Los Barilles which has gotten increasingly touristic. Owners were very helpful and communicative. Really the ideal VRBO experience. Do note that the picture is cropped a bit disingenuously - there's another house just a few feet away on the left (which is a bit weird, given that the next nearest house is about a hundred yards away) but it's also a vacation property so nobody was home while we were there. The nearby hotel was closed for maintenance while we were there (late Feb) but it made no difference to us at all. You will absolutely want a car, and one that can handle a fairly bumpy road for that last few miles from the blacktop to the house. It's brilliant, you feel like you have really gotten away from it all.

What can I say about this place? It was amazing. Sea of Cortez right out your door. House is very roomy and well appointed. The library of books at the house has plenty of pleasure reading and also many guide books about the area. There were five of us staying there and we never felt on top of one another. The courtyard gives a nice sunny area to enjoy that is also sheltered from the wind. A nice centeral location: from here we were able to take day trips to Cabo Pulmo, Los Barriles, La Paz, Cabo San Lucas, and San Jose del Cabo. Teri was very prompt with her communications, calling to respond to my e-mail inquiry even before she e-mailed me back. Their property manager was very helpful during our stay. Bottom line....the pictures do not do this places justice. I am already trying to figure out where to find money to go back down there in a few months and I've only been away a few days.

Beyond our wildest expectations we traveled with our 2 1/2 yr old son to the eastcape of the Baja and found ourselves a private getaway nestled between Cabo Pulmo and La Ribera. An easy trip from San Jose del Cabo or La Paz, grocery stores, and the gateway to some of the best diving and fishing in Mexico it is an experience that is quickly fading with comercial developement. Between Leatherback turtle nesting grounds and easy seas this beachhouse is amazing. There is courtyard and fountain surrounded by private sleeping quarters and 1/2 bath, largekithcen and living room, master bed and bath fanning out to the patio yards form the Sea of Cortez. Great for those who want to relax and those who want to play. Endless fun. Great Qwners!!!!!

This house is awesome. It's clean simplicity is a perfect oasis off the beaten path. If you love exploration and the reprieve of spending time swimming in the Sea of Cortez, fishing, kayaking, kiting, walking the beaches, writing or reading under the bouganvilla by the fountain and hanging out away from masses - you'll love this place. Be sure to eat a meal or two in the authentic little Mexican town of La Ribera which is a delightful reprieve from the tourist industry of Baja. Explore the bumpy dirt road along the East Cape and the great little villages that dot the coastline. If shopping and a happening bar scene is your thing this is not the place for you. It is an ever increasingly rare place where you can wake up listening to the sound of the waves, drink your coffee or tea walking in the warm sand to the water's edge where likely you won't see another person while you launch your kayak for a morning paddle or fish. Lastly be aware sea turtles lay their eggs on this beach. My family and I were fortunate enough to watch a clutch of Olive Ridley Sea Turtles hatch right near the house. Our children (who love it there) were 1 and 3 at the time still talk about it. It is a pristine place where the turtles and birds and fish live in an environment that, thus far, has been minimally impacted by humans. It is my hope that those who visit there help to keep it that way for a very long time.

We enjoyed a week at Casita de Luna with my 90 year old mother in November of 2007 and returned for another week with our 2 boys 11 & 12 years old in June of 2009. Kayaking in the ocean along the beach we saw Manta Rays jumping and turtles swimming under our boats. Not a far walk up the beach at Punta Colorada is some wonderful snorkeling and about 10 miles south is Cabo Pulmo where we discovered excellent snorkeling and diving among the coral reefs. The house is spacious with rooms opening into the courtyard and also to the outside. Casita de Luna can easily accomodate a family or 2 to 3 couples. Mornings and evenings were often spent on the large patio where we enjoyed watching the fishing boats and sea birds over the ocean. The palapa provides comfortable shade for relaxing and reading during the day. After arriving at the airport we purchased supplies at the large market in Cabo then proceeded to La Ribera which is an easy 1.5 hour drive from the San Jose del Cabo airport. There are markets in La Ribera and Los Barrilles for re-stocking and incidentals. This is an ideal vacation spot for relaxing and enjoying the baja without the hustle and bustle of a resort town. (No beach vendors!)

We have stayed at this beautiful house twice; in January '08 and later with family at Thanksgiving. Has a great view of the Sea of Cortez from the master bedroom, living room and patio and loved sleeping and waking with the sound of the waves. As soon as you step outside, you are on the beach, which was almost empty when we were there, except for the occasional fisherman or free-ranging cow. Guest wing in the courtyard has 2 large bed-rooms with adjoining bath and was very comfortable for 6 of us. Kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans dishes, good stove, oven etc. and made eating in easy. Groceries were available in town a few minutes away, and a good restaurant is right up the beach at the Punta Colorado. Not a place for Cabo-like night life, but a great spot to be on what is almost your own private beach with family and friends.
