Comfortable accommodation for a couple, sleep to sounds of the surf from the beach just steps beyond the patio. Some might think that the lack of air conditioning is a problem but given the typical year round climate on Sint Maarten - highs of 80, lows of 75F, that is irrelevant. Besides the beach right in back, there are several beaches within walking distance, also a good food/drinks market and other shops. Check the location of Beacon Hill Rd on Google Earth and note proximity to luxury condos and hotels.

We had the opportunity to stay at the studio for five nights. The studio is quaint and has everything you will need. The views from the porch are amazing. The privacy is the best quality. You are within walking distance to Sunsets Bar and Grill and can watch the planes land. You can also walk into Majo for good food and a casino. You are also close to Simpson Bay that has a lot of restaurants and a beach that is very large and offers you a lot of places to choose to lay claim to your own space. Simpson is also where a lot of the excursions leave from. Just note there is a bridge that opens at certain times of the day and cause serious traffic delays. Be sure to find out what time the bridge is going to open and try to avoid Simpson at those times. My favorite part was the "guard" dog "Beacon. He was very friendly, liked being walked and slept in the studio with us. The place is starting to show its age, but for the price you would be hard pressed to find anything better. There is a grounds keeper, Kato, who stays in a small cottage on the compound. Roberta comes every day to clean. Roberta was very nice and did a great job. Also, dealing with the owners was easy. They sent a wonderful packet of information prior to the trip that included suggestions for what to do while there. Beaches, restaurants, sights, etc.

Couldn't ask for a better place to spend a vacation. We spent a fair bit of time travelling the island but at the end of the day we couldn't wait to escape to our private and quite patio to BBQ our dinner and watch the sun go down. The property is well kept, private, and is in close (walking distance) proximity to many ammenities and beaches. The owner provided useful information about the island and the caretakers were always happy to answer any questions and provide suggestions. We would not hesitate to re-visit this location or suggest it to our friends or family.

My wife and I would like to say that our stay was wonderful, and would highly recommend staying there for anyone. It was a little peice of paradise. We never backtrack on our vacations, but would make an exception here. Rebecca and Cato were wonderful! Beacon became a close friend protecting us from, well nothing.

Jean was wonderful! Not only was this cottage priced excellent but the owner provided some great info on places to eat and secluded beaches to hit. (Happy Bay was our fav!) The island was beautiful and a great warm up during our cold New England winter. The cottage was perfect, enough room for the two of us (they also have a larger one on the property for families) and completely private. We found the grounds to be well kept, and to have a dog (Beacon) for the week was so fun! The only thing we would have liked was a little more beach in front of the cottage but with storms a lot of the beaches change from year to year- but there are so many other beaches to see that it really didn't matter. Very safe, great price, awesome owner, A great getaway!!!!!!! Paul and Tommi Middletown, CT

Thank you so much for everything. As you have heard many times your place is amazing and in such a perfect setting. Burgeaux Bay Beach provided great views despite the hurricane but we rented a car and saw much of the island and quite a few of the beaches. Your information package was very useful. We met Cato and Rebecca and she had the place spotless every day we came home. Thankk you for your care package when we arrived. The whole week was extremely relaxing and enjoyable from our coffees on the porch in the morning to having a glass of wine while watching the sunset every evening - exactly everything we were looking for. Thank you again and we hope to return.

Everything was perfect! The cottage was clean, bright, and well stocked with pots, pans, and dishes--everything we needed. We loved not having a TV or computer to distract us from each other. Rebecca, Cato, and Beacon were all wonderful caretakers. The list that Jeanne put together of local bars, restaurants, and beaches was invaluable. We took it with us everywhere.

We had a great time. The cottage is located convenient to stores, restaurants, beaches, and foodstores. We liked Sunset Bar, Uncle Harry's and Bajatzu's....Rent a car and try Mullet Beach, Friars Bay, and of course Orient Beach. Really enjoyed Cato, Rebecca, and Beacon. We liked the studio cottage...what a private honeymoon retreat!

What a place to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary! Jeanne, thanks for sharing your awesome piece of paradise. We truely relaxed and "decompressed." Rebecca, Cato and Beacon, the "Wonder Dog," were delightful and made us feel right at home. Between swimming, reading, circumnavigating the island and enjoying the sumptuous French cuisine, our trip couldn't have been more delightful. Thanks, Jeanne, for providing such a beautiful place to relax in this busy world of ours!

What a great place to wake up on Easter Sunday! This little white hideaway was just what we were hoping for… peace & quiet, solitude, yet close by to the hustle & bustle of the island. Our next stop is one of the larger resorts on the island & there’s no way it can beat this!

Our 5th Anniversary...Our arms, shoulders, and backs are still aching from much jet skiing and kayaking as we prepare to leave the white pearl of Burgeaux Bay – with the diffuse feeling we did not spend enough relaxing time on the unique place. But there are so many fun things to do in SXM! The cool trade winds on the hammocks were a true break from out torrid savanna, for sure! We’ll miss this great place.

We absolutely loved BBBC! Exploring in a jeep was the best way to learn the island. Hanging out at Sunset Beach Bar watching arrivals & departures with a cocktail in hand, sunsets both there & at the cottage were breathtaking. Cato, Rebecca & especially Beacon were very pleasant & informative. It was the best vacation ever - can't wait to go back & we WILL return!!

Our return trip to SXM and BBBC! The property was wonderful as expected and we enjoyed the Island better the second time around! Beacon was such a joy to have around. Rebecca and Cato are so friendly, and are a perfect representation of SXM hospitality! We have been recharged to endure the long Maine winter! We'll return to BBBC when we're running low! - PAUL and ELIZABETH

We returned to St. Maarten for the third and most memorable trip yet – bringing with us our good friends, who married here next to the cottages. We had been there when they first met 2 years ago and have seen them through to the culmination of their vows and joining of their lives, now as one. “Life isn’t measure by the amount of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breaths away!’

As we pack up our things on our final day in paradise we recall the adage of our wedding officiate, just yesterday, here in the courtyard of Burgeaux Bay Beach Cottages… We are “closing the suitcase filled with all of the baggage of our lives before we joined them and opening a brand new suitcase to fill together as we go through our life’s journey.” The first items we place in this new bag are those of our sunny days, peaceful sunsets, and exciting adventures here on the island of St. Maarten. Thank you!

Wow! What a perfect place to spend our honeymoon, even more beautiful than either of us had imagined. We spent a few days exploring this beautiful island and found we liked it here best. Pic Paradis was breathtaking, and a stroll down Orient was unforgettable. Yet, we were happy to call [Burgeaux Bay Beach Cottages] our home. We truly had a wonderful week in the sun.

This has got to be one of the finest places to stay on the island. We found it on the net and spent one awesome week there. The staff was so kind and helpful, the studio was just about 40 feet from the sea and the beach was so clean. Everything in the studio worked perfect it was very comfy and the extras were outstanding. So many wonderful memories will always be with us from this vacation. Don & Denise Savannah, GA. 05/2004
