Camp Festivus is a unique 1926 Vintage cabin that has been thoughtfully restored, featuring a stone (Steiner) fireplace, reclaimed barnwood and 6 person hot tub all on a private creekside acre.
Challenge your nerve by swimming in Clear Creek or relax in the hot tub over looking the water. Indulge your inner slug, grab a book and read in the hammock.
Feeling lucky, you can try fishing in the back yard or walk across the street to see if they are biting in the Sandy river. Afterwards you can cook up what you catch at the outdoor fire pit or grill, then fall asleep to the sound of water or gaze at the old growth trees or creek view from every window.
You can throw down your gear or tune your bike or skis in our large heated mudroom, and toast s'mores out back or come inside and listen to Pandora or watch a movie on one of our flat screen TV's. Do you want a bit more privacy for the adults then the kids can go down to the comfy TV room with flat screen, dvd player and stereo, there are tons of pillows and fold out mats to relax, watch movies, or listen to music.
The iron and woodwork and much of the furniture have been custom designed and produced (by the owner) to maximize the beauty of the cabin as well as the surrounding area.
Camp Festivus, a place you can rest(ivus).

This place was just as described. It is rustic, but yet has everything you need in this modern world. The location is excellent for enjoying Oregon outdoors. All needs from salt and pepper to laundry sheets are taken care of. The pictures that Denny has online are very accurate. Denny is a good communicator and we talked a few times before our arrival. I do not have one complaint. Today we took a ride to Multnomah Falls. I would recommend this day trip again. We took the winding narrow roads to the falls. Barlow to Ten Eyck to Bull run are the roads I remember( not necessarily in that order) Don't let the GPS take you to Portland, take the side roads. The drive was stunning and had many opportunities for pictures. We hiked from the back side of the falls and came around to the front. 5.7 miles and about 4 hours. If you do this, make sure you have good shoes. The trails can be rocky, narrow and slippery. We we returned, the hot tub was there to relax our sore muscles. Tomorrow is snow shoeing around Mount Hood and Friday we are skiing at Timberline. If you are a first time skier to this area and have smaller children definitely go to Timberline. It is better groomed and better for a young family. We will be staying here again the next time we are in the area.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Great Cabin!!! Attention to detail was noticed. How the owner was able to combine vintage with re-claimed wood is beyond me - it really works!! Lots of wood, cozy, and serene. This cabin is located between the Sandy River and Clear Creek. Noting better than a long day cross country sking then soaking in the hot tub (nestled in the woods) overlooking the creek. Loved this place and WILL be back!!!! The pictures are great but really don't do it justice!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Four city girls found just the outdoor adventure they were looking for at this mountain home! We were able to visit all terrain types, including Mt. Hood and the Columbia River Gorge, and then come home to a hot tub, fireplace, and locally brewed beer every night. Woke up every morning to the sound of the creek and the mountain view out the kitchen window. The amenities and comfort of the house were everything we needed. Denny was also incredibly helpful and was there for anything we needed, thanks again! We are already planning our next trip! One thing to note for travelers who also plan to ski/snowboard Mt. Hood, you will definitely need an all-wheel drive vehicle to get there!!! Jade, Liz, Amanda, and MargaretRecommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful spot overlooking the creek. We were so taken with the place that we all decided we'd rather hang out at the cabin than go for our usual day hike! Truly a home away from home.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Our week at Camp Festivus couldn't have gone better. We got great snow all week at Mt Hood Meadows. The kitchen is fully stocked with all of the necessary kitchen items to cook great sit down meals. The hot tub was great after the long days at meadows. The beds were comfortable and warm. The fireplace set off a great ambiance.... so much so that the TV never even got turned on. We had the most amazing time and couldn't ask for a nicer place to spend our vacation. We had big plans to go to Portland for a birthday party... go to Gov'y for cocktails... etc but instead we all just skied until we couldn't hardly walk, cooked great food and enjoyed the cabin. The owner was extremely helfpul and accomadating.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We really enjoyed our stay at Festivus and want to go back. The camp was just as described and clean as a whistle. We enjoyed the salmon in the brook, campfires and the hot tub. We had a 3 year old and a dog with us and both enjoyed the yard very much. Denny was great. The place is just far enough away from the main road. We highly recomend this rental property.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our stay was epic! We soaked in the hot tub and lounged in the creekside hammock, watched in amazement as the fish struggled to swim upstream... so cool. Perfect location, just a short drive from the main road, very private. Our kids enjoyed s'mores around the fire pit and we enjoyed our wine! Cabin was clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back for more!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: Having two children and two dogs of our own we have tried to make our cabin a place for everyone to enjoy. Since we both work in creative fields we felt so lucky to come across a property with such an amazing location as well as a great history that we could put our artistic stamp on and it would only enhance its beauty.
Why the Owner Chose Mount Hood:
Living in Portland we wanted a place that would be easy for our family to use (don't enjoy long car rides) and that would be something we would all enjoy. The year round access to the outdoors at Mt. Hood has to offer is unbelievable. Our cabin is so close to everything (hiking, biking, skiing, restaurants, Stumptown coffee, etc. But it is still so private and secluded, the best of both worlds.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Right on Clear Creek, old growth trees, wildflowers, options to eat indoors or outdoors at the custom built picnic table on the deck overlooking the water. Two flat screen TV's, Blu-ray, and 6 person hot tub.
