Rainbow Connection II is an ideal place for families and friends. Adults usually sleep in the bedrooms, and the kids sleep in the living room on the sofa bed (in front of the TV). Or they sleep on the futon in the dining area. There are curtains to separate the areas, and make it cozy for the kids.
The hot tub in the master bedroom is new! It is a model that we purchased after one of the home and garden shows, so it has lots of fun features. Several years ago the family worked together to put up the natural cedar siding in the spa area.
The couch fills up the whole south and west side of the living room. Great place to watch the golfers, humming birds, sparrows and chickadees, swimming pool, and view Rocky Mountain National Park from a distance.
The dining room seats 6 at the table, but we have an extra leaf in case guests drop in. There are also stools at the short counter dividing the living room from the dining area for laptops, luncheon plates, and LAN parties.
All the major appliances have been replaced in the kitchen. We try to keep a few spices, oil, flour, and sugar stocked until you have a chance to go to the grocery store. The coat/hat rack/shelf on the entrance wall is spacious enough for ski/ bike helmets, gloves, hats, coats, scarves, sunglasses and everything else that goes along with an outdoor lifestyle in the mountains. We keep a drying rack in the coat closet to hang wet things on.

Year Purchased: 2002
Dennis and Cheryn met 37 years ago "ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN" at Hidden Valley Ski Area- the only ski area ever in a National Park. Dennis grew up on a dairy farm in Pennsylvania. Cheryn grew up on the high desert of eastern New Mexico. We fell in love with the Colorado mountains, and each other and have been here since then. Here we are at the Mountainside center celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in 2004. The Mountainside Center is a great place for small gatherings.
Why the Owner Chose Granby
Rainbow Connection II is our second piece of Mountain property. Right after we were married we built a passive solar home in Summit County. Economy forced us to move and sell the property. When the kids were in Middle School we found Mountainside 114. We purchased it to have a place to get out of town and let the kids bring their friends.

This was just what we needed for a relaxing vacation! We were two couples having a reunion in August for a few days and enjoying the mountains. We were able to experience the hot springs pools in Hot Sulphur Springs nearby, hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, and even a free ride on the chair lift at Sol Vista (up and down the mountain). The condo was very comfortable and within easy reach of RMNP. Having a hot tub in one of the bedrooms was definitely a plus after a day of hiking. The hummingbirds came frequently so we had fun observing them. I even saw a beautiful fox on a morning walk around Sol Vista! We hope to use your beautiful condo again in the near future. Thank you so much! Oh, and we recommend Crooked Creek Saloon in Fraser for dinner.

During my visit a group of friends and I went snowshoeing, sledding and hiking all directly accessable from the condo. We went in winter, and very much enjoyed the proximity to the outdoors and the cozy atmosphere of the condo. We all were able to sleep comfortably, dine together and have a relaxing weekend close enough to home to make it an easy escape and far enough away to really make a weekend of it. An experience I would gladly repeat and highly recommend!
