Charming cabin that we stayed in for a week during a huge snowstorm(>30"). Cabin was adequately furnished with all of the creature comforts and made for a pleasant and comfortable stay. David was great to work with and provided us with several recommendations on palces to eat and things to do. Would highly recommend the cabin for a family or two couples - ample space given the upstairs lost with reading rooma nd seperate bathroom. With the snowfall and weather, we saw lots of trucks getting stuck and highly recommend four wheel drive if you are going during the ski season. The shuttle that takes you to the junction and to the silvercreek runs often and it is very easy to have them pick you up/drop you off. No issues with waiting or logistics here. Would highly recommend the cabin - view is wonderful and it is set back enough that noise from the road is not an issue. A roaring fire, wonderful glass of wine and a tranquil sunset are all that is needed after a long day on the mountain.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The Snowshoe Cabin was a great accommodation for our 3-day ski trip. It had plenty of room for our group of 10 as well as a good location on the mountain. The home was stocked with everything we needed: towels, blankets, cook-ware, etc. There were some electrical problems on one wall, causing the TV not to work during our stay. However everything else was perfect and only added to our enjoyable experience at Snowshoe.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

With the early snowfall - thanks to Hurricaine Sandy, my husband and I decided it would be fun to get a glimpse of the Snowshow resort before the ski season. This beautiful chalet provided a great escape and most comfortable accomodations for our weekend get-away. Most spectacular are the views and the comfortable living room area and fireplace - a great place to curl up with a book or game with the family. Bedroom accomodations are cozy, well appointed, and with exceptionally comfortable mattresses. A great place to melt after a day of hiking, skiing or whatever you choose to do. We had a wonderful time hiking the back trails around the lake - with snow up to our knees. Most locals thought we were nuts but we loved every bit of it. We are coming back for Thanksgiving weekend - slopes will open early this year. Can hardly wait to come back and re-aquaint myself with skiing and other winter sports. We will definitely want to stay in this house as it met all of our needs and expectations for comfort, convenience, and seclusion. The owner is most accomodating and engaged with assuring that we had all that we needed. Also gave us some hints on area attractions. Really felt safe a secure with this relationship.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Great House with lots of space

A group of 7 of us rented this house during ski season, and it was by far my best rental experience (of the 3 prior years at other condos on the mountain). The open floor plan of this property is one of the best aspects of the house. All of us were able to comfortably hang out in the living room around the fire after a long day on the slopes, which is something that has been a problem with other condo rentals. The beds are great, new Flat screen TV's were a nice bonus, and as long as you don't mind a small hike up the front stairs, the view at the top on the front porch/balcony is beautiful. On the listing, it recommends you have a 4-Wheel drive vehicle... If you going during snow season, make sure you bring one. The driveway is steep and we had some issues getting a 2-WD SUV up, and there is no parking allowed on the road. We had no issues at all with AWD and 4WD vehicles. The location of the house is also great. If you are an experienced Skier or Snowboarder, it is located on the side of the Western Territory. I wouldn't recommend you walk, but the shuttle can take you to the end of the road (about 1 min drive), and puts you about half way down "Cup Run" where you can get on the lift at the bottom that will take you right over to the other side of the mountain versus taking the shuttle to the village (you would have to already have your lift tickets). We had a wonderful trip and will definitley be renting this property again next year. Thank you so much for sharing your house with us.....And Fred of course!! (If you rent the house that will make sense to you when you get there)Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

David, Thanks for allowing my family to stay at your beautiful cabin. We had a great time! The cabin is just a few minutes from snowshoe, it has everything you need very well kept. We'll definitely stay at this cabin again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Robert, Thanks for your kind review! By actually being in the resort (near the top at 4500 feet), we think our cabin gives us the best of both worlds. The space and quiet of a private home with acreage in the woods, with the free on call shuttle that gets us to the Village (what I think you meant by snowshoe) in just a couple of minutes. We love being able to park our car at the chalet when we arrive and not have to worry about crowded parking lots. We can enjoy all of the action of the Village, but still feel like we are getting away from it all. We look forward to your return!

This is a great house for those traveling to Snowshoe. The house is clean, well decorated and nicely updated. The owners are very kind, responsive people who will make your trip excellent! The views from the house are amazing, and it can easily sleep 10/11 people (if you utilize the pull out sofa). The house is not walkable to the slopes, but the Westridge homes have a private shuttle that will come pick you up and drop you off. The nearest slope is Cup Run (black diamond) on Western Territory. Its at the end of the street, about a 15 minute walk, or a 2 min. Shuttle drive. I have stayed all over Snowshoe, and this location is just as good as any. It should be noted that this house has a large staircase, so its not handicap accessible. But if that is not a concern for you, then you should absolutely book this house!! Also, you will need a all-wheel drive vehicle to access the house, since there is a large, steep driveway. Enjoy!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Lauren, Thank you for posting a review of your visit to our chalet. It really is our second home, and Mattie and I are very glad when other families enjoy it as much as ours does. We do try to make sure that it provides a comfortable getaway...and the views were what sold me on it too! I went all over the mountain before we purchased it, and ours is one of the "darkest" views, so at night, you only see one farmhouse. We look forward to welcoming your family back soon.
