  Our group of 7, ranging in age from 4 to 50, enjoyed this house very much. The location is really perfect - you are far away enough from other houses to not worry about making noise late at night but are just about a mile away from town walking on the beach. The town is lovely, with basic services available but not so touristy. We visited some neighboring towns and I would say that this was the best location in the area. The appliances, furniture, etc. are average. I would say this house is particularly good for small children as the pool is not in direct sun for the full day, and because the beach is very wide and has some really interesting tidal pools at low tide that are fun to explore with a flashlight. The caretakers were very nice people but speak only a few words of English so guests should brush up on the basics of Spanish.

  We visited this beautiful spot for a week. The listing was very accurate. The house is perfect if you are not looking for the busy beach vacation. Even though we were there the week many locals are off for Holy Week, the beach was never very crowded. We had some nice calm waves right in front of the house that were great for some of the beginning surfers in our group and Guionnes was a few minutes drive for incredible consistent waves every day. We traveled with 2 other couples and 5 children from ages 1-6. The kids spent hours searching the tide pools in front of the house finding all sorts of sea creatures. We had a few issues while there. The biggest one was due to Holy Week, the water was shut off. The owner had advised us ahead of time that we would have times of low water but we ended up with none for a day and a half. The owners were very attentive even while they were traveling out of the country, and soon found the problem and got it corrected. It was actually the fault of the house next door and no fault on this property. The only other issue was with the internet. The owner was immediately on it trying to figure out the problem. Luckily one of the people in our party brought his own router that we connected to the house line and we were in business, so it wasn't a big deal. The property was clean although one needs to remember where you are traveling. Now an again small crabs would join you in the shower, of course the kids loved this amenity. Since we traveled with small children we didn't go out to any restaurants but our cook Norma was great. She came shopping with us and cooked great traditional Tico food which is exactly what we wanted. We had a wonderful Holiday and would not hesitate to recommend this house to friends (in fact we already have). The Ranch/deck area is the perfect place to hang out and relax in a hammock or read. Even with temperatures near 100F, the breezes kept it nice and cool. The only recommendation I would have, would be a few upgrades like adding AC in the third bedroom. We weren't able to keep the windows open for a breeze with the little kids. Beautiful place and very nice people that were easy to deal with! Thanks!

  The house is located just in front of the beach, so you can enjoy the ocean view from the dinning/terrace area and at night you can go to sleep listening the waves. The beach is full of rock pools so you need to walk a bit to get to the open beach, but that's ok. We enjoyed seeing the monkeys, iguanas and even an armadillo just outside the house. The swimming pool was clean but cold as its in the shade, but children didn't mind that. The kitchen equipment and washing machine needs to be replaced, not the standard you expect from a holiday rental. The so called guard only came a couple of times to clean the pool and get some things out of the fridge, which we found a bit strange, and also uncomfortable if you want your privacy and don't like a stranger walking around. The wi fi didn't work....and this was extremely important for me as I had to be in constant communication with husband back in UK. I think it should not be included in the list of available things the place offers as it appears this happens on a regular basis. The last day whilst packing I found a dead and very dried mouse stuck to a strip trap on top of some old magazines in my room, we slept all week there next to it....Overall, the place is located in a good spot, with good views and very quiet, the house is very basic which it's fine but it needs some TCL, to be updated and cleaned, I would not pay the asking price again as its not good value for money in the current conditions.

  Owner response: The situation mentioned on this review of the mouse is not a common isssue but an unfortunate isolated incident due to an oversight of the maid. Regarding wifi it is usually working perfectly and I was never informed of its malfunction at the guest's stay but only by it's review... I was surprised when i read it. We have a full time guard but only stays and sleeps at the house when it is not ocupied by the renters , otherwise only comes 2 hours a day to clean the pool and sweep the parking lot. He does have a separate fridge for personal use inside the kitchen, apart from the one the renters use.

  Went with 7 adults and 3 kids to this amazing house right on the beach. This place was just as described…and more. The large, covered dining area with hammocks was the perfect place to eat lunch, then relax while watching the kids play in the infinity pool. At just the right angle it looked like you could swim right into the ocean from the pool. The ocean itself was just steps away and while none of us were surfers, we saw many of them walk by each day. The tide pools, sand and sea shells kept the kids busy for hours and the sunsets were like paintings each night. The place was well kept and included a maid/cook and security guard, so we only had to cook when we wanted to, and felt very safe at all times. In addition to the magnificent property, there are plenty of activities within a few minutes’ drive from the house. The town of Nosara offers great dining, souvenir shops, surf lessons or fishing trips, and endless stretches of beach to explore nearby. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone who is looking for adventure, enjoys surfing, wants to get away from main stream vacation rentals, and see nature at its finest.

  This place was very fun. It is litterally right on the beach and the waves are good for advanced surfing right from the house. The pool was also very nice. Everything was in good condition and well kept. All the transactions were easy and smooth. There was even a cook and a security guard included in the cost of the weekly rental. I would definietly recommend this place to anyone who is thinking about planning a trip to Nosara.

  Some friends and I booked this house for 8 days and it was exactly what we were looking for! The beach is about 20 ft in front of the house so sunsets are visible every night, and they are quite gorgeous! Our chef/maid, Sarah, and night watchmen Secilio were awesome! Sarah cooked delicious meals everyday and Secilio was always available to keep an eye on the house when we weren't there. As long as you have a car the town and night life are easily accessible. There are quiet a few bars and really good restaurants near by. Two friends that joined me are surfers and found the waves just about a half a mile up the beach to be perfect. The beach is a long stretch that is great for walking! I highly recommend this house! We had beautiful weather and throughly enjoyed our stay!

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

  Just returned from a week long stay at the Nosara Dream villa with 11 of my friends and we had a blast! The villa was clean and well maintained and had everything we needed available for us. Our cook Cecile was so helpful and made us some really delicious Costa Rican fare (I'm still dreaming about the plantains!) and really took care of us. You are right on the beach which is great, but be prepared to interact with nature - we woke up in the morning to the calls of monkeys, shared the open bathrooms with a few inquisitive crabs and had geckos hang out in the dining room with us. So if you're not an animal person, just a heads up there. You will definitely want to rent a car as town is a 10 minute drive away and the market is 5 minutes away, although we found you could walk along the beach right into town and it only took about 35 minutes, which is nice when you don't feel like driving. Overall the villa was the perfect place to stay. As long as you are cool with sharing rooms with your fellow travelers, it's great. We spent many a lazy afternoons in the pool and hammocks, then frolicked in the waves. You are quite literally ON the beach so you walk down the steps and there is the ocean, which is great. So yes, I would wholeheartedly recommend this villa to anybody looking for a fun and authentic time in Costa Rica. If you are looking for a spa Ritz vacation, this is not it. If you are looking for a great, clean, fun villa for a fantastic low-key vacation, then this is your place. I only wish we had booked it for a longer than a week, because time flew by. We miss it already!!
