Villa Dos Geckos is the perfect place to get away and enjoy a week on the beach. There is a on site SCUBA and Snorkel center with multiple trips per day.
Two ocean kayaks with snorkel gear are provided to explore the reef. The game room will provide hours of entertainment with a professional pool table and a ping pong table. Also the Media room with a 100 inch HD projection TV and 5.1 Dolby surround sound is perfect for an after dinner movie.
If you want a night on the town West End is only 30 minutes away. There you can find a variety of restaurants, bars and discos. If preparing a nice dinner in is what you prefer the chefs kitchen is ready and waiting for you.

This was our first time to Roatan. It you want to be away from it all, feel like you are the only one around but with quality -consider Dos Geckos. Part of but separate from Palmetto Bay Resort you have it all! The pictures shown are the house. The pool and deck area are great and down the steps you are on the beach. The downstairs media room is great. A small movie inventory is there but limited. If you do not like those you can go to the Resort a short walk down the beach and you can borrow some of those. The game room has a great pool table. The master bedroom and bath are just off the great room . The bedroom has a great beach view. There are just 2 bedrooms but there are rollaway beds hidden in the closets in the family, media and game rooms. The Resort restaurant is wonderful and the owner lives right on the grounds. The staff is always pleasant and eager to help. Be sure you schedule a massage before you return home. It is given on the dock, with the breeze blowing with water lapping at the beach edge. Perfect. Main island road good so driving to West End, Shady Bay not a problem. Eldon's supermarket is great. If you want more gourmet food and a better wine selection Bulk Gourmet is wonderful. We cooked some dinners and also ate at the Resort. As with any island location, there are pros and cons. To reach Palmatto Bay after you leave the main road you drive about 20 minutes over very rough dirt roads and if you want to go over the mountain, you need a 4 wheel drive. You will see adults and school children walking these dirt roads and since we had a truck we gave them a ride - they were most appreciative of it. If you want to go out to dinner outside of Palmetto Bay you will have to add about 1 hr round trip on your travel time since you will drive in and out on dirt roads. The road is rough in daylight, we chose not to try it at night. Other restaurants are about 15 minutes from the Palmetto Bay turn off. There is no cable or satilite TVat the house so be sure to bring your music to connect to the great family room TV. We did not and the quiet did get to us after about 6 days. House keeping is not provided in the rental but we had the maid come once and it was only $58. There is a landscaper/handy man on the grounds. He has limited English, but you can communicate with him. My husband and I found Roatan to be less expensive then many islands. Dos Geckos is a great place to totally relax in quality.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
