Paris 17th Zen Retreat

For those who prefer a Paris apartment experience to a hotel, this was one of our best trips. Nicely located in the 17th arrondissment, convenient to the Port Maillot Metro and RER , neighborhood markets and restaurants close by , this is as close to being a Parisian as one can be for a week. In addition, with marble fireplaces, interesting artwork, the place has character. The owner lives here, part time, which helps to maintain the completeness of the facility - comfortable European Queen sized bed, plenty of linens, fully equipped kitchen (small but very functional), WI FI, washer dryer, dishwasher etc. The living spaces were quite roomy and a separate "study" with sliding doors for privacy, had a pull out sofa which could serve as an additional bedroom. The bathroom/shower was quite tight but functioned well. A separate WC was a welcome feature. A young lady, representing the owner, met us on arrival and gave us an orientation. She gave us her phone number and email address and offered further assistance if we so requested. The second floor (French - third American) location was not a problem as the stairs are gentle so the lack of an elevator is acceptable. We would recommend this apartment .

Within hours of our arrival, this lovely apartment seemed like home. We stayed for two weeks and everything was more than promised. The owners were exceptionally helpful in making our stay comfortable. The neighborhood is not only a short walk to the Arc de Triomphe but to Metro stops that get you anywhere in the city. There are supermarkets, patisseries and any store one could wish for. If opportunity permits, we certainly would revisit this elegant and very romantic apartment.

We stayed here for six weeks. The apartment is very conveniently located, near several metro stations, with numerous shops, restaurants, grocery stores and an amazing market nearby. The apartment itself is lovely, decorated with stunning photos, stocked with guide books to the city, and is quiet, safe, clean, and very comfortable. The owners were kind and helpful before and during our stay. A great place to stay, for a business trip or a vacation. We would love to stay here again.

This flat is very stylish, yet comfortable, well appointed (kitchen equipment, internet etc) and well laid out. The renovations have made the best of the space with high-spec contemporary fittings whilst maintaining the older charm with attractive fireplaces and other features. The flat overlooks the courtyard of this attractive building and so is peacefully protected from the street. We enjoyed the occasional sounds of the school-playground to the other side. Most notable is the fantastic art collection of contemporary photography. Avenue des Ternes has a large range of shops, the Arc de Triomphe and Champs Elysees are less than 10 minutes walk, and the bus, metro and RER rail links around Paris are very good. The Bois de Boulogne is only a 15 minute walk. The owner was helpful and responded well to our queries, the flat was clean and well maintained and we found it exactly as the listing had suggested. We were lucky to call this apartment home for the first 6 weeks of our life here in Paris with two small children. Its location, amenities and the local area made it a wonderful place to start discovering the city. Overall a great place to stay!
