I noticed one of the reviewers said he stayed May 28, 2013. He made a mistake, as we were there thru June 2, 2013. The house was easy to find after we discovered to turn "right" after exiting from 81 at exit 69. The poarch was a pleasure. We enjoyed all the birds, so take your binoculars. We couldn't fine a place to get to the river to fish so we tried at Steel Creek Park. no luck. The dogs from across the street came over everytime we were outside, I almost fell twice as the puppies got under foot. we had a hard time unlocking the door! on the day before we left, we were unable to unlck the door at all, called Dan and he came and fixed side and back door locks. It got hot the last 3 nites we were there and it was very uncomfortable! Amenities list Air conditioning but there was none. I did not call Dan and complain. Ants and mouse were a problem. esp. the ants! had to keep all food items in the frig. might really enjoy it in the fall.Owner response: I regret you had issues with the nieghbors dogs. I would have spoken to him while you were here, if you had let me know. There are several places along route 44, along with several other roads, that allow access to Holston River along with access to both the river and lake at South Holston Dam. I am more than happy to give directions. I was not aware of an issue with the doors. I do take problems serious and make an effort to solve them as quickly as I can. Air conditioners are available and discussed in the rental rules and confirmation, but If you are uncomfortable please contact me so I can address the issue. We have traps, baits and repellent equipment placed in an effort to control field mice, ants and other pests. But they do sometimes get into the house. We do clean the house after every visitor and make an effort to ensure the house is clean and comfortable for our guests. If an issue does arise please contact me so I can address the problem.

Stayed here for a week on a motorcycling vacation/reunion with my two brothers. The place was pretty near perfect. It was clean and well kept without being so fancy that we were worried when we tracked in some grass clippings. The owner stopped by to see that everything was okay on the first morning and then left us alone after telling us to call if we needed anything- Just right! It would be hard to imagine a more quiet, cozy location and it's just a few miles to Thunder Valley. Cell reception is terrible (which was actually kind of nice- no one bothered me) and you wont find high speed internet, but you can run into Bristol and sit at the Krystal Burger if you need to check emails, etc. All in all, this is just the kind of place we were looking for. Definitely worth checking out!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My wife and I could not have been more satisfied with our stay. The lodging was as advertised. It was well kept and very inviting. The beds were comfortable. The shower was nice and provided for multiple uses in a short time as it had a big hot water heater. Everything was in working order. We felt very safe and regretted not taking our dog with us as he would have had plenty of room to explore. The neighborhood was very nice and made the trip very relaxing. As fans of Bristol Motor Speedway, we were VERY pleased with how easy it was to get to the track. We went from the house to the track in less than 15 minutes. There were multiple routes to take which helped after the races. All routes were very short. I cannot think of one negative to our entire stay. We look forward to staying there again.Recommended for: People with disabilities, families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

Located along a shady country lane in a rural area, you are immediately swept away into a calm, relaxed atmosphere away from city noise and suburban clutter. You breathe easier, talk more, and delight in simple things: see a deer or a wild turkey, sit down and read, or enjoy a home cooked meal in a full sized kitchen. You are close enough to stores and shopping, but not so close that you hop in the car for every little thing. Cell phone reception is excellent here. For outings, you are only minutes away from fishing and the speedway. For us, we completely enjoyed the relaxation in a fully furnished home with everything you need and so many "extras" that we were very comfortable and happy.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

My son and I recently stayed at this home to visit family nearby. This home was a great little house that had all the accommodations that we needed. The house was clean and the owners were very easy to work with and communicate with. The property itself is well maintained and easy to find. We will definitely stay there again in the near future. Very nice house in a very beautiful location.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Year Purchased: 1991
About the owner: We are Dan & Bonnie. We have been together since 1988! We met in the Navy and both retired with over 20 years. We came back to the Bristol Area because of family and the weather. Bonnie is from Michigan, which is way too cold in the winter and I am from Bluff City. It is not a bad place to hang your hat.
Why the Owner Chose Bluff City:
This was my Grandparents house were they raised my mother, as well as her sisters and brothers. We bought it from my uncle and rented it out for a while and decided to convert it to a VRBO home. We hope it works out well and we meet some really great people.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This isn't a log cabin in the mountains, or on the lake, but it is secluded and the location is great to do your running around in this area. The neighbors are good people and most have lived here for several years.
