My family and friends thoroughly enjoyed our stay here! The property was outstanding...Barbeques every night! I highly recommend this home for groups large or small.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

I recently had the pleasure of spending 4 nights at this beautiful home with 11 people. This country house was everything I wanted and more for a stay in Nelson. Its interiors are rustic and charming very much like Nelson and the surrounding area. All of the common rooms are large enough to easily accommodate 11+ people with comfortable seating. The kitchen and dining area is open so people can still socialize while making dinner. The dishwasher, washer and dryer all came in handy with 11 people in the house. The bedrooms are also very spacious with comfortable beds and linens. We thought that with 11 people we thought that there may not be enough towels or dish-ware but we found that we had more than enough. This is the perfect destination for those looking for a picturesque country getaway. I really enjoyed the character and attention to detail that was taken in building and furnishing this home.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

A large group of us stayed at this lovely property over New Year’s and had an absolute blast. The place is beautiful, very well stocked, and extremely spacious. It is designed very well to accompany large groups, with comfortable beds for 11+. The scenery surrounding the house is incredible and it was great having a bonfire on New Year’s eve in the snowy wilderness. We very much enjoyed our stay here and hope to stay at this place again the next time we are in Nelson.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We, along with some extended family members, rented this beautiful house. We were attending a three day family reunion that took place in Nelson and Winlaw. Located less than 10 minutes from Nelson, it fit our bill perfectly. We were pleasantly surprised, not only by the size of the house, but also by it's beautiful decor. The photos do not do this house justice! From the lighting to the furniture, this place is extremely funky, spacious and comfortable. Seven of us stayed here and it was very roomy, no worries about bumping elbows with one another. The kitchen has all the necessities of home, from pots and pans to stemware, it's well provised. The large table seated all of us comfortably whether it was for a big family breakfast, or for playing games. The beds are comfy, the bedding is beautiful (with lots of extra comforters), and going to sleep at night with the sound of the creek running was very calming. There is a fire pit out front of the house we used on our first night, it was great for stargazing! We would definitely rent this house again should our travels bring us back to beautiful Nelson.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.

About: We travel quite a lot and have a busy lifestyle like most people these days. More and more we enjoy peace and connection to nature. We love to travel to Sunny places and like adventures and new discoveries. Nelson is a place I love to return to. It is great for family get togethers. We love living outdoors. Gardening, hiking, buying high quality organic food at local markets and cooking. Star gazing around a fire pit with a good glass of wine is up there too!
Why Nelson:
We have looked all over B.C. For a natural retreat. Although it is 8 hrs from our home, we love the drive up to the property from Vancouver. We wanted to be away from it all yet close to amenities. Nelson is a very unique town with great shopping, resteraunts and smiling faces. There truly is something for everyone. Nature is outstanding all around. A very unique little gem in the mountains. There isn't anything I can't find in Nelson!
The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
This property spoke to me. I love gardens and greenery, peace and unspoiled connection to nature. I love how I can hear the creek from every room in the house. There is something special about showering in pristine non chlorinated water, direct from the properties water source. I always recharge when I go up to 'Heartstone'.
