Located in a relaxing family neighborhood, this tropical "keys style" stilt house has ocean access with deep water dockage in the backyard.
The interior of the house has the keys influence in decor and an open floor plan. Great for visiting while in the kitchen, dining room or living room, no one is left out or misses a thing. Split floor plan, walk thru closet to bathroom in the master bedroom. Living area is all upstairs so that you can open the house to the relaxing tropical breeze and a great view of the canal, water view and a peek through the houses to see the bay.
Make your drinks and sit on the deck and enjoy the peaceful neighborhood, located just far enough from Key West yet close enough to run in and join the famous "SUNSET at Mallory Square". Watch the people and street performers as everyone applauds and toasts another gorgeous day in the Florida Keys.

Our vacation time went by all too quickly! This home was exactly as advertised. The location was perfect for us. It was close enough to Key West to go there but also had very nice restaurants 10 or 15 minutes away. If you like to cook, the house is very well supplied with everything one would need. The house is well maintained... the owner recently painted and the steps up to the house had been replaced recently. The owner was very quick to get back to us with any questions that we had. The neighborhood was friendly and we enjoyed our daily walks. We took 2 charters with Capt. Jimmy Bailey (the boat is "Hooked Up" out of Key West and had 2 very good days of fishing. Restaurants...lets see: The Square Grouper and the Crab Shack are nearby. We also liked the Hogfish Grill on Stock Island - hard to find but worth the search. And my birthday was celebrated at the Sunset Grill at the Marathon side of the 7-mile bridge. Mother Nature obliged us with a gorgeous sunset there. All in all we had a blast. I would recommend it to anyone! Can't wait to come back.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

What a great place to stay! Location is convienet to many places. We were right in the middle for going to Key West and Marathon. The owners are super and made sure our stay was very enjoyable. I would highly recommend renting this home. We were less tha 5 minutes from Loo key, parrotdise, and Boondocks. I would definately rent this home again! I was great to bring the lawn chair out and sit by the canal and read a book. Grilling in December is a bonus when you're from Ohio.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Pam, we are so glad you had a relaxing time. That is what the Keys are all about. We hope your "warm" memories carry you through the year.

My husband and I love this place and have been staying here every January/February for 9 years. It is the perfect location for us - half way between Marathon and Key West. The house is fully equipped and includes things like spices, trash bags and soap for the dishwasher. The owners are very accommodating and we have developed a true friendship with them. One of the things about this house that works for us is that the vacant property across the canal is nothing but mangrove trees (no inhabitants), so it's extremely quiet here and we don't feel like we're peering in someone's window (and vice-versa). Another plus is that the backyard/canal face south so we get the afternoon sun just where we want it. I highly recommend this property.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Bev and Ray for the lovely review. It was so nice to finally get the time to meet up and enjoy lunch. I am still recommending the Crab Shack to others! We look forward to seeing you again next year. Stay happy and healthy and enjoy the new grandbaby.

We had a FABULOUS time on our Keys Vacation. We were familiar with this rental because friends of ours have rented it for many years for a month in the winter, so we were excited when we were able to stay here for a week. The house is very comfortable and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need during your stay, truly a home away from home. Little Torch is a great location, close to stores, great restaurants, the flea market and if you like to boat this is a great location to boat too. It was such a pleasure dealing with the owners of this property, I would highly recommend this as a rental to anyone. We look forward to coming back for another stay!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you John for the kind remarks. We are glad you were able to stay and this time in the MASTER bedroom! We look forward to hearing from you all again. Have a great summer.

This house was so comfortable and well kept, with all the amenities it was a gem. The family really enjoyed this vacation home and we would definetely do this again. Owner info
Year Purchased: 1998
About the owner: We are Ally and Kris, we are a fishing family both for a living and relaxation. We bought our first boat, a charter boat out of Hillsboro Inlet in 1977. We went from that to commercial fishing. First our boat, then running one for someone else, then on to buying a lobster/long line boat. Pulling traps by day, swordfishing at night, buying bigger boats over time as well as pleasure boats. We have strictly commercial fished for over 25 years, without customers but for a food supply. The boat goes out for swordfish and tuna and has traveled from Long Island NY to Barbados and the Gulf of Mexico. At a point we owned a fish market in the "Hamptons" on Long Island, working that and staying there most of the year. Ally has been a Ft Lauderdale Marine Commissioner for 2 years and speaks at fishing clubs and is well respected within the fishing community. I have owned a flower shop for a few years and yes, that is quite a change from our normal line of work. I have been the home base in the past, going along fishing when we had a charter boat or making calls for semi's and ice and to the fish buyer to get prices for the catch when it hit the docks. We are in the same line of work at the story The Perfect Storm. Needless to say it has been exciting and scary at times.
Why the Owner Chose Little Torch Key:
Ally owned this piece of property with his Dad since he was a teen. After years of it being vacant and us buying out his Dad we decided to sell to buy another house in the area. We were advised to build then sell. Building is a nightmare in the keys! After building we decided we loved it too much and that was the start of our frequent visits to the keys from our home in Pompano Beach, outside of his making port in Key West.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We visit our home in the keys to do maintenance of course but then to go out and fish the patch reefs and have company. Most people have not had fresh fish, we catch it in the day time and eat it for dinner that night! We swim in the canal and just enjoy our friends and the peace and quiet of the area. In 1998 we had a house fire in our Pompano Beach home. We were out of house for 10 months. During that time we spent a lot of time in the keys running back and forth. Our house is well stocked for that reason. We want our visitors to enjoy their stay not spend their time shopping to stock the house to fit their needs. There are a multitude of spices, seasoning, oils and such in the cupboard, an extremely well stocked kitchen as well as plenty of towels so if you shower often we have you covered. If you like to clean your catch their is a great fish cleaning table built by a friend on the dock, clean away. And on occasion we love to go to the different beaches that are within half an hour drive. Marathon to Key West, are in the area where we have the best selection. Bahia Honda State Park, rated one of the top 10 beaches, ocean or gulf access, with snorkel boats that leave daily. We love our visits and hate to leave, we hope that you do too.
