Secluded Ridgway Mountain Chalet with Dramatic San Juan Views:
Heated stone floors, granite counters, vaulted open-beam ceilings, works of art and a cozy wood stove come together to create your perfect getaway vacation.
This 1950 sf house on 5 acres is located atop Log Hill Mesa at around 8000' elevation. Sit back in the deck chairs and enjoy grand views of the Cimarron and Sneffles ranges of the San Juan Mountains in several directions. If you like your privacy then this is the spot for you. The house is off a quiet dead-end road and only 15 minutes from downtown Ridgway, 25 minutes from Ouray and 45 minutes from Telluride.
The house is very spacious with 3 bedrooms:
*Master bedroom has a king bed on the top floor with a private bathroom that includes sink/toilet/shower
*2 guest bedrooms downstairs each with queen beds that share one bathroom with sink/toilet/tub/shower
There is new bamboo flooring that goes up the stairs into the master bedroom. The downstairs main room and bedrooms have warmed stone flooring with radiant floor heat for quiet comfort.
The house is very bright due to all the natural light from the windows/skylights.
There is a cozy wood pellet stove in the great room of the house to warm your bones on a cold night.
The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, etc. There is even a modest selection of spices too. The cook stove is propane so those who like to cook can do so with ease.
The living room is spacious with many comfortable leather chairs for just relaxing, reading, watching the satellite TV or viewing a movie. I have a number of DVD movies in my library from different genres to select from. There are also board games and a Sony Playstation.
There is a large deck that surrounds the rear of the house. It comes complete with comfortable deck chairs, table and chiminea for small cozy outdoor fires.
The house is environmentally green too as 80% of its year-round heating needs are provided by solar hot water panels with a propane backup system.
The house is cleaned with only green/environmentally friendly products.

We loved staying in this spacious and secluded house. The living room view was especially beautiful and the master bedroom was very nice. Property was clean and the owner most helpful. The weather and the Fall color were spectacular. We were sightseeing with our dogs most of the time we were there, so didn't eat in town very much. However, we ate several breakfasts at Kate's Place which was Great!Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We rented this property for 4 night to do some four wheeling in ouray/telluride! Very nice and relaxing home with plenty of deer wandering through. Roads are paved almost all the way to the home which was a plus and the circle driveway made it easy to get in and out of. All and all I would stay there again anytime.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We loved our stay in this beautiful, quiet mountain home. The view was lovely and the home was easy to get to. The home was very clean and well stocked--we appreciated the extra touches such as the Sony Play Station, the DVD library and the comfortable lawn chairs on the wrap around porch. The owner was very helpful and easy to get a hold of. We would very much enjoy staying in this wonderful home again.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Had never been to Ridgway, but read Ralph Lauren has a ranch there.. I see why after my visit. Jaw dropping mountain views, and scenery. House was very clean and secluded. Not far from town, but you really felt like you were far from civilization. Owner was very hospitable and accommodating. Looking forward to my next visit!Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: I have been in the vacation rental business for the past 7+ years. I am also a self-made handy man. I love the Ridgway/Ouray area for its natural beauty and the never ending supply of things to do outdoors. When I'm not taking care of my vacation rental I enjoy time cycling, reading or doing computer work.
Why the Owner Chose Ridgway:
The Ridgway/Ouray area captivated me the very first time I visited the area more than 30 years ago. I now own this home in the area and there is something magical about it. I never get tired of the dramatic views off the mesa toward the San Juan peaks.

5 acres of land surrounds the property and there are hiking trails right out your back door.
For the adventurous you can head down to our local hot springs just outside of Ridgway on the way to Ouray. Orvis is a wonderfully spiritual place that was used by the Ute Indians.
