It was the 4th time that me and my husband were staying a week in Manhatten (before we always were staying at hotels). We go there once a year and really loved the experience with the apartment. The situation is perfect for Central -Park lovers, the subway station is just 3 minutes away, you have a farmacy, starbucks and supermarket just 5-10 minutes walk away. Very easy treat with Dov (owner) who answerd quickly doubts per email and telephone. The apartment is perfect for a couple and there would fit also 2 pax more on the sofa. Only negative point: the building from outside and the corridors are a little bit shaby compared with the other buidlings in this area (but this is also reflected in the price of the apartment is more than ok for the situation). The furniture and decoratin of the flat inside is simple but made with "buen gusto" and it was cleaned perfectly when we arrived. We could leave the luggage before the check in time and were also able to stay in the apartment longer then 11 o clock on the departure day as our flight was very late in the evening. Will definitly want to come back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This was our first visit to New York and we had a great time. We stayed here 13 nights. Previous reviews were helpful and accurate so review them too. Block away from Park and Subway. Dov was easy to work with and honest. Apartment is on 4th floor with no elevator. Sofa bed in living room not comfy but if you are young and walking all day you will crash out. Apartment was simple and clean. Neighborhood safe. We came home many a night passed midnight from subway with our kids. 5 blocks from Museum of Natural History. I walked across central park to the Met Museum in 15/20 minutes. Recommend Hot and Crusties a few blocks away on Broadway for coffee and bagels. Enjoy New York !Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

I stayed in this apartment last week and miss it already. The street was quiet and the location totally wonderful. Central Park is only 2 mins walk and each day I started with a long walk in the park at 730am. The subway line is also close by (B/C trains although B does not run on weekends) and gave good connections to the rest of the city. Like others wrote the stairs are somewhat hard work, especially with a suitcase. I had the feeling the stairs might fall off the wall since they flexed somewhat when walking up/down, but I soon lost my fear of them falling down. The TV is slightly bigger than in the photo (where it looks quite a small set). Owner was very friendly and accomodated a late (11pm) arrival. The only problem with the flat was lighting the cooker and he soon took care of that (pilot light was out and gas was switched off).Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We stayed here for a week, early November. The location was excellent.Close to everything including subway stations. We are apartment people, instead of hotels,as we like that you have a kitchen for breakfast in and late night snacks. The apartment was small but good for 2 people. It had everything you would need including Wifi and a great T.V......plenty of towels and blankets too. The only complaints were that there was no elevator and the apartment was on the 4th floor. If you have any walking issues, this may be a problem for you.It was clean, but a little on the shabby side, and had a funky smell. We purchased scented candles and burned them when we got there which seemed to help. The bed was comfy and we slept well.It was warm and toasty in the apartment and we never were chilly. For the location and price it was a great place, but if you want a easy walk up or something on the newer side...this would not be for you.We would stay there again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This apartment was perfect selection for our one week stay in Manhattan. Central park is only 2 mins from the apartment. It was really nice to do running there early in morning, get coffee and fresh bagels from corner. That’s a perfect start for a day! Apartment is located also close to subway (half way to Central Park). It took only 15 mins to get to mid-town and 25 to down-town. During week were able see to many interesting places in Manhattan. Surrounding close to apartment was really calm. There was no noise during nights. It was really safe to walk around during evening. Safe area for first timers! We will definitely check the availability of this apartment for our next visit.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Wonderful stay! The neighborhood is so cute and classic New York. Any minor issues we had were dealt with quickly and professionally by the owner, Dov. If and when we visit NYC again we would instantly consider this place first. Right next to the subway, right near central park, right near plenty of great shopping, safe and fun and comfortable. Thanks so much!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The flat is in a great location next to Central Park and also the subway. There are renovations going on in the shared area of the building which it needs. As mentioned by other reviewers, the flat is up 3 flights of stairs. The flat itself was clean but tired, with maintenance seemingly done by a jack of all trades. The sofa bed is poor, with springs that you can feel through the mattress and was a back killer. There are no curtains but there are blinds which if they go all the way down will block the air con - given that the sun rises early this time of the year, you may want to pack eye masks. The landlord was helpful and responsive.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

This apartment was the perfect way to experience NYC and live like a new yorker. Bigger than a hotel room, very neat and comfortable (even for 2 adults and 2 kids), with modern furnishings and appliances. Nice and quiet neighbourhood in the upper west side, close to central park for an early morning stroll or run, and an easy bus or metro trip to the city centre (we even walked a few times). Dov was friendly and helpful, and just around the corner in case he's needed. The 3 flights of stairs might pose a challenge to some older people with luggage, and the sleeper couch is also not suitable for bigger kids or adults (mattress very thin), but fine for my 2 small kids. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks Dov.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We really enjoyed our stay in the apartment. It was warm, spotlessly clean, and had a really lovely sunny aspect t it. The sun literally streamed in, and was always welcome, as the weather was quite cold outside. The facilites were very good. The big double bed in particular, was really comfortable, and we had restful and relaxed sleep during the whole of our stay (you really need it too, when you're busy during the day going to all sorts of places). Proximity to all that NYC offers, this apartment is second to one. The neighbourhood is safe and friendly, and has some great places to eat, while the subway is about a minute's walk, as too is Cenral Park- just a fabulous location. On one lovely sunny Winter's afternoon, we strolled through Central Park, stopped and had mouth watering hot-dogs with ketchup and mustard! and went on to a fascinating exhibition at the Guggenheim, which was about 20 minutes from our apartment. What more could you ask for! We are Australian tourists, and were a long way from home- the apartment really helped make our stay memorable, safe and fun! I so hope that we can get back to NYC one of these days. I've spent a lot of time back at work today- (first day back groan) telling my colleagues about my memorable time in New York, which is why I decided to sit down and re- live our journey a little by writing a review. Thank you Dov for your hospitality. The apartment really supported us in being able enjoy the sights and sounds of NYC. Hope to see you again. Jenny and Glenn.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing.

The apartment is just as advertised. The living areas are larger by New York standards which was a nice surprise. The building, like others have noted, needs work, but for the price it is a fine building. The kitchen was fine to use and the bathroom was a true full bath which was nice. The location of the apartment is just perfect! We were close to everything we needed and being so close to Central Park was a great perk. We did miss that the apartment didn't have a buzzer to buzz people in. This would be a nice addition. As people said, the stairs are extensive, but they are manageable. Just know you're on the 4th floor of a walkup. We would stay here again and were pleased with our stay for the price.Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We recently stayed in the apartment in Oct 2011. We were overall pleased with our experience. The location/neighborhood was by far the best thing about this apartment. You are about a block from Central Park and very close to a couple of subway stations. There are tons of stores, resturants and bars within walking distance too. We like Nonna’s on Colmbus for dinner and drinks and the Fire House for draft beers and good bar food. We watched a Yankees post-season game there with the locals. The apartment itself is in decent condition. Its an old building and so the apartment has been painted over and over again. It was clean but not spotless. We were bummed that the all paper goods (TP, paper towels and tissue) ran out right away and there was no back up supply. We could have called to ask for refills but we were too busy everyday. Its nice having a coffe maker and fridge and living like a local rather than a guest at a hotel. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was decent once you figure out how to control the water. The 4 flights upstairs were really challenging after walking the City all day but the apartment was in a really nice brownstone neighborhood and its pretty quiet on the forth floor. The owner was easy to work with and was prompt in getting back to us to answer our questions. We would stay here again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

The apartment was great for 2 females here to shop (and compete in a race)! It was renovated, quiet and air conditioned, which was very necessary! New York was hot! Water pressure in the shower was great, the beds were comfortable (I slept on the fold out couch) and the kitchen was nice. The apartment building itself was old, and the second floor smells like mothballs, but don't let that discourage you. This apartment is worth it. Here's the downfall, the apartment is on the 4th floor....no elevator and narrow stairs, so pulling our luggage up the first day, in the heat was painful! And after walking the streets of New York (and running a cross country race), the stairs sucked to walk up at the end of each day. But it's good exercise right! If you don't mind the stairs, this is a great place to stay. It's one block to the subway, Central Park and many stores and restaurants. It's a quiet neighbourhood. And we got 2 keys, so we could go our separate ways (the last review said they only got 1 key...just ask!)Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I spent a week in this extremely nice apartment in a very lovely neighborhood with terrific access to public transportation. Between the 2 convenient subway entrances - Central Park West 2 blocks away and Broadway 4 blocks away - and several nearby bus stops, you can easily get to any Manhattan location as well as Brooklyn. The main rooms were spacious, exactly as pictured and with generous closet space. The typical NYC kitchen, while only big enough for one person at a time, was equipped with everything we needed to make our own breakfast each day and had a new refrigerator. The apartment building is the only one on the block which has not been well maintained and when you enter the front door the interior appears pretty dilapidated. However once you get into the apartment (on the FOURTH floor), it is quite a nice situation, very nicely renovated, clean and sunny, cheerfully furnished. Air conditioning in both the living room and bedroom was a definite plus. The three long flights of stairs to reach the apartment were the only drawback. If visitors are elderly or not in great shape, the steps are a definite drawback. There was only one key and the buzzer does not work, therefore if one of us was out later than the other, it required a long hike down to open the front door and a (seemingly endless) hike back up to the 4th floor. We each had only one piece of carry-on luggage but it was still difficult for two people in their early 60's to haul stuff up and down all those steps. If stairs don't bother you, this is a terrific place to stay in a great location at a very fair price. We would definitely stay here again if there was an equally nice apartment on the first or second floor.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The situation of the apartment is perfect, a few minutes away from Central Parc and from the subway. The apartment was very clean by arrival. But the convertible bed in the living-room is of very bad quality. A nightmare for the back ! It's very a pity when you stay 7 nights...Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
