Rediscover nature’s harmony at the South Yuba River and Tahoe National Forest. Harmony Ridge Lodge is located 160 miles from San Francisco, one hour from Sacramento, or Reno, and five miles from Grass Valley or Nevada City. The Lodge occupies 5 acres adjacent to Tahoe National Forest, in California’s Gold Country.
Outside the doors you’ll find decks for lounging and star gazing, a barbeque, and fenced acres of wooded gardens for strolling (great for safely exercising your dog). The Pioneer Trail, directly across from the lodge, is a local favorite for both cycling, hiking and horseback riding. Cross country and downhill skiing at Lake Tahoe, are a short drive. South Yuba River State Park swimming and fishing holes are nearby, and are dog-friendly. The vibrant cultural scenes of Nevada City and Grass Valley are a few miles down the hill.

Me and 18 of my family members all got together the second weekend of December for an early holiday celebration. The lodge had beautiful holiday decor and homemade christmas cookies and other goodies. The lodge was close by to downtown Nevada City where there is Victorian Christmas celebration, the three weekends before Christmas. There is plenty to do this time of year. We took in three local wineries in Chicago Park and attended a good crafts fair at the Miners' Foundry in Nevada City. I recommend Harmony Ridge Lodge for get togethers with family and friends. The staff was accommodating and made our stay really fun.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Harmony Ridge Lodge was the perfect setting for our family reunion! The beautiful gardens were a perfect back drop for our family pictures and the peaceful feeling of the lodge was just what we all needed! Plenty of space for everyone and more than enough local activities to enjoy as a family! Definitely the right choice for your family reunion!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Harmony Ridge Lodge served as the perfect location for our family reunion last weekend. The lodge was the perfect fit for our group of 25+ people, spanning five generations. Young and old could be found gathered on the lawn under the apple trees, playing music down at the pergola, or dining around the gorgeously set tables inside or out. The weather was perfectly mild, dozens of flowers were in bloom and it was easy to alternate between playing games with loved ones or taking a private hike or bike ride along the quiet trails. It was so relaxing that we decided to stay an additional day after the rest of the family had gone!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Everything was more beautiful than it appeared in photos. The room was not only clean but luxurious with nice crisp sheets on the beds. The grounds were beautifully maintained, bekoning to be explored. Deanna and Billy were gracious and helpful. They both went above and beyond to help make our friends wedding go smoothly. Oh and did I mention the breakfasts? Overnight waffles that melt in your mouth, local & organic fruit salad, Billy's award winning salsa on a scrumptious omlet, great coffee and tea selection. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it. If your looking for a relaxing group retreat or a solo getaway then look no further. Paradise awaits.Did you find this review helpful? The Harmony Ridge Lodge is a wonderful, peaceful lodge. The owners (Bob & Jaime) and the managers (DeAnna & Billy) are wonderful, kind people who bend over backwards to accommodate their guests. The breakfasts are fantastic. The rooms are tastefully decorated; upscale, but comfortable. The location is peaceful and up the hill from Nevada City. There's no TV or phone in the room to distract you, so you can de-stress here. The 4 fenced acres of pine trees are perfect for people and dogs. Our Golden Retriever loves it and so do we! I recently stayed at Harmony Ridge Logde and was wonderfully surprised. You pull into this magnificent winding driveway that takes you to a wonderful lodge (with amazing views, wonderful breakfast and an adorable dog named Monarch). Then travel further into a beatiful retreat where the rooms have outside sitting patios that look onto the forest and beautiful gardens you can get lost in. The rooms are amazing with high comfortable beds and beautiful antiques. You feel like you're in another world when visiting. I travel often and stay at B&B's all the time. This is on the TOP OF MY LIST. If you visit, make sure to pet Monarch and tell him Jill said hi! We will definitely be back. Thanks Jamie and Bob for a great stay.Did you find this review helpful? It finally occurred to them it would be great to have a Gold Country place of their own – a place large enough for gatherings of friends and family. One thing led to another, and Harmony Ridge Lodge was created – a beautiful, welcoming get-away – for all who seek respite in nature, and their canine companions.
