Great Weekend
Great Weekend

My brother, a few family friends, and myself decided to get together for a weekend reunion since we have all spread across the country. We could not have been more pleased and fortunate to find the Woodside home. We found some great hiking trails nearby and spent one of our days exploring. Unfortunately on the second day it rained, but to our luck the house was so accommodating that we didn't feel like we had missed out at all. We spent the day playing fusbol and ping pong followed by some grilling by the fire pit. The house slept all 10 of us comfortably and was the perfect retreat from the cities we now live in. I will (and have) recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great weekend getaway. Owner is great! I had lost my the check for my deposit refund and they quickly had a new one re-issued. Thanks for a great weekend!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We stayed at the Woodside home for a weekend while we were in town for a wedding at the local vineyard. The home served all of our needs very well. It was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The owner was extremely helpful and flexible and easy to work with. We will certainly consider coming back to Woodside in the fugure.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We had a wonderful stay – kids and adults! We would not hesitate to recommend this beautiful home-away-from-home. The house is set up beautifully for vacation guests. Our kids' bedrooms were on a different floor from our master bedroom. And there were plenty of places to watch TV, read a book, take in the sounds of nature, or just de-stress. It's clear that the owners are very guest-oriented. The house is in great condition with wonderful accommodations. And there were plenty of activities to keep us busy nearby. We particularly enjoyed the zip-lining down the mountain, tubing down the Shenandoah and hiking. No regrets at all!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The house is everything it is represented to be. We loved the way it is laid out. Immaculate. We have two couples, one with a 6 year old, and myself, the Mom, and there was plenty of room for each to have our own space. Lots of community areas, except I was annoyed that so many stayed in the theater room all the time! Used the wine cooler, the fire pit, and the charcoal grill. A special surprise was the great condition of the ping pong table and rackets. So often in rentals these are in poor condition and not worth using. We had a little difficulty finding the house and I'm so happy it was daylight. We kept the local custard stand in business, every 8:45 pm we would load in our cars and I will not admit how much we consumed. I still can't eat any custard. I understand Lake Laura is beautiful, but you have to be in good condition to get to it. As Grandma, I didn't even try. Of course I also got to sit on the great covered patio and read while they swam and sunned. The pool was great. No interest in any of my family in golfing. Miniature golf opened a brief time in middle of day at the hottest hours so unfortunately we didn't play. WE SAW A MOMMA BEAR AND THREE BABIES as we were on the way to Cave Ridge Winery. Apparently even a lot of locals have not seen bears. We went far afield for activities - Fox Meadow Winery in Linden, a marvelous park with life sized reproductions of dinasaurs about an hour plus north (just past Houlihans Restaurant - oh yeah). Toured the RT. 66 potato chip factory. Some of the best mountain views we've seen. If someone travels with a dog they will find an amply sized fenced area for it. But the best part was coming home to Woodside.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

We will most certainly make use of your properties in the future and recommend them to others. The Basye property, Woodside, was absolutely perfect for our need for the great outdoors and the comforts of a well appointed property. The golf course was beautiful and very reasonably priced. We also fished Lake Laura, hiked the area, and took drives to enjoy the scenery, enjoyed the fire pit, and watched 3 movies in your great theater room. All in all it was a great time.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

What a wonderful house!!! We had a great 4 day visit at Woodside and plan to return in 2013. The living room/dining area was large and roomy and all 8 of us could relax and enjoy talking around the table. One evening we hosted dinner party where 18 nurses got together from other houses, had plenty of room to sit and visit and we all had a wonderful time. See you in 2013!!!Recommended for: Girls getaway.

Lisa and John's house is beautifully situated, spacious, and has every amenity needed for a relaxing weekend getaway. The location is quiet, but close to all the recreational activities at Bryce. The house was spotless and well stocked with items you wouldn't expect to find in a rental. The owners were fabulous - responsive to questions, and even retrieved a belt that we'd left behind. I'd rent from them again in a heartbeat.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This home was perfect for our family of four. It has 4 bedrooms, all of which are nice. The kids loved having their own rooms. The entire place is clean and nicely decorated. Everything was in nice condition and the kitchen was modern. I love how private the home is. We spent most of our time in the sun room which has fantastic wooded views. Best of all, it's only a minute or two from the slopes. For evening activities, we enjoyed the really nice sound system for movies, the array of board games, the fooz ball table, and s'moors on the patio fire pit. There is a nice area set up for dogs to play outdoors. We didn't use that because our little dogs had plenty of room to run around inside, but it would be great for more active dogs or larger dogs. The owners are fantastic. I received a call within literally minutes of sending an inquiry. She also followed up as the trip came closer and was very pleasant to communicate with. The only complaint came from our kids because they didn't want to leave!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
