Gassville cabin description
This fisherman’s cabin is a perfect getaway. Watch the morning river mist dissipate over a cup of coffee as the sun comes up and warms the land. Bring the day to a close with your favorite beverage in hand seated on a bench at the river’s edge (only 30 feet from the deck).
River fishing -- This area of the White River, below Bull Shoals Dam, is internationally known for premier trout fishing. Fly fishing is extremely popular and fisherman can fish from the bank, or wade during low water periods. Many anglers’ fish from a flat-bottom 16-20 foot johnboat equipped with a 10-20 hp motor. BYOB - you can bring your own boat or rent a boat/guide locally (Debbie at Cotter Trout Dock will give discount). The Game and Fish Commission stocks hundreds of thousands of rainbows in the White annually and anglers come here from all corners of the globe to catch them.
Golfers – Big Creek Golf & Country Club, Twin Lakes Golf Course, and River Cliff Golf Course are all a short drive from the cabin.
Fun for the entire family – Branson is just 1½ hours from the cabin. You will fine shows, Ziplining, Silver Dollar City, Branson Landing, and other attractions. Historic Eureka Springs is 88 mi/2 hours away. Canoeing or kayaking on any of the many rivers in the area, ample trails for hiking, caves for spelunking, and a plethora of antique shops.
The home features two master bedrooms with queen-size beds and bathrooms. A third bathroom is shared by two more bedrooms; with queen and bunk bed respectively. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and basic spices. Kitchen has all the standard items: oven, refreg. with ice-maker, microwave, dishwasher, coffee pot with coffee and filters, etc. Grill your favorite food on the gas grill or, if you don't feel like cooking, there are several restaurants in nearby Gassville & Cotter. Linens and towels provided. Flat screen TV w/ HD satellite service (movie channels), along with DVR & Blue Ray DVD player is provided (loaded with movies), free calling anywhere in the U.S. The WI-FI internet allows cruising the net from the decks or anywhere in the cabin. Also listed on Home Away-look for listing number 330194. This area of river is private-no full-time residents on this road and nothing but cliffs and trees across the river - very quiet.

We just returned from spending 4 days at RiverMist. We enjoyed every minute! The house was beautiful, and very clean and comfortable. My husband and girls spent hours fly fishing in the back. We appreciated the extra touches like fresh baked cookies, and milk and juice in the fridge. House has all the comforts of home. The kitchen was great for eating in and also enjoyed a couple of meals out...the pizza place up the street was wonderful! I loved reading the guest books! It was exactly what we were looking for in a relaxing get away! Highly recommend!

It was so cozy that it felt like home.

What a great place to visit. The owner's have really thought of everything you could possibly want in a cabin. Every bed had a wonderful quilt, and the kitchen had all the gadgets you normally either bring from home or do without. They really have paid attention to detail. It was spotless and organized, and they let us bring our dogs. They have two wonderful decks. I would never have thought of two, but seeing them, I just don't know how you could do without either one. Afternoons on the lower deck were perfect, and the view from the sunroom was spectacular. The owner's were even thoughful enough to provide some food items in case you arrived late. How nice is that!!!! This was the most pleasurable and cleanest vrbo experience we've had. We certainly plan to return.

River Mist review long overdue
River Mist review long overdue
We had a wonderful stay at River Mist. Jimmy and Zaidee thought of everything and had a wonderful home to share. The views were fantastic. We even saw the bald eagles soaring in the sky. We had some wonderful fishing right out of the back door. I even coaxed one of the large brown trout in the river to eat my fly. The house was very clean and there were cinnamon rolls upon our arrival! We had a wonderful relaxing time while at River Mist. We have stayed at many rentals over the years and clearly would rank River Mist among the best. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Wonderful Family Vacation
Wonderful Family Vacation
My wife and I, along with our 6 children, ages 9-21, just returned from a delightful week at River Mist. The boys caught a whole bunch of trout from the bank. Most of them we released, but they saved enough for one fish fry. As soon as we got there we understood where the name 'River Mist' comes from. The perpetually cool water of the White River often has a mist rising off the water. The temperature was 90ish during the day but due to the cool river water, always dropped into the upper 50s by early morning. We enjoyed watching the eagles, doing a lot of reading, some family games and the boys fishing. The fire pit down by the water, corn for the trout, fresh cookies on the table, and some basics in the fridge were all delightful touches that made us feel welcome. If possible we hope to return some time. We loved it there!!

The Owners of this home go out of their way to make your trip wonderful! The house is beautiful, clean, and well equipped. It was our second time to stay at this property and will stay again. We would recommend visiting the Bull Shoals Dam for an interesting day out. The men used the Cotter Trout Dock for a guided Fishing Trip and found it excellent. Can't wait to come back to River Mist!!

Wondweful Riverside Rental
Wondweful Riverside Rental
This property is as described, a beautiful home with a beautiful view, and yes there is mist on the river almost every morning. Arrangements were easy and communications great. Everything was perfect- from the home made cookies left for us on the table to all the notes and suggestions about area eating places, nearby entertainment, and local churches. It is a very comfortable "home away from home", the perfect place to enjoy much needed rest and relaxation. We would highly recommend this property.

We had a wonderful time and the house was more than advertised. We would love to go back again and probably will. Everyone had there own space, but could gather together and still have plenty of room. With the river so close it was easy to watch the kids fish or just enjoy the water while we cooked. Can't wait to be able to go back again.

Had one of the most relaxing vacations ever at River Mist. It is a great location on the White River. We would put in at Cotter and float/fish down to River Mist. We would be on the river by 8:00 am and would be back at the cabin by lunch. Spent the hot afternoons in the cabin and then would go out on the deck in the evenings to watch the Bald Eagles "fish for their dinner". That was amazing!. We have stayed in VRBO properties for 8 years and this is one of the most comfortable places we have ever stayed. The owners have thought of everything to make this trip so enjoyable. We have already booked for next year but wish it could be sooner!

Gathered all our children here for a fly fishing trip. Weather was blazing hot, but the home helped us have a great time in spite! Very roomy, comfortable, and a beautiful location.

Why the Owner Chose Gassville:
We fell in love with the Ozark Mountain/Twin Lakes Region while visiting a couple decades ago. Our career provided the opportunity to live in various locations throughout the world, which helped in our decision to retire in the Ozarks. Small town life along with mountains, forests, lakes, and rivers made this the perfect vacation/retirement location;this is truly God's country.
