Oh my goodness, from the moment we drove up River Mist took our breathe away! The view was awesome. The home was perfect for us and our friends. We brought our 19 year olds and they loved it. Two great decks, to sit and watch the river and all the nature. I was so excited to see the resident eagle. Sooo cool. We went fishing with a guide recommended By Jimmy and everyone caught fish. I enjoyed quite moments sitting by the river and reading. The house and the river were just more than we expected. Thank you for sharing your home. We will be back :)

Perfect fishing or relaxation getaway!

Perfect location for our spread - out family to convene for a long weekend. We came from Dallas, Allen and Plano, Texas and Broken Arrow , OK. We fished with guides for one day and each boat caught over 50 rainbow trout that we released. We fished on the river's edge on the property and caught fish. We relaxed on the deck and saw eagles soaring down the river and swooping in for fish. The chefs of our family grilled and fried trout on the Char-Griller grill. The house is very well stocked with bowls, cooking utensils, dishes, flat wear, spices, paper products and everything needed to cook a great meal. We also appreciated having a washer and dryer in the house and the Satellite TV with DVR . Thank you Jim and Zaidee for your attention to detail in making this a true home away from home. We would love to come back in Oct 2013, but since you are booked up, we will try for Oct 2014 ( if not sooner) !

After reviewing numerous sights on the internet, we decided on River Mist and are pleased that it was our choice. We spent 3 nights and hated to leave. The property is everything that the owners & other reviewers said and more. It is hard to describe as it was more than we anticipated. Jim and Zaidee have thought of everything one would need for their stay even down to a toothbrush. My wife, mom, oldest son, his wife and our granddaughter came with us. My son and I had fun catching trout which we cooked and ate the first day. The girls went into town to shop while we fished. We also saw an eagle swoop down and catch a trout as well as some deer and squirrels. We also were able to observe the release of trout from the hatchery at the ramp next door to where we were staying. The fall folliage was so picturesque. We are now planning to return next year and spend at least a week. We would like to thank Jim & Zaidee for sharing this vacation rental with us. We would recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away for some peace and tranquility and of course trout fishing!!!

WHAT A WONDERFUL PLACE TO STAY. NOT ONLY IS THE HOME SO VERY CLEAN, THE VIEWS ARE SPECTACULAR!! SECLUDED, YET JUST A FEW MINUTES FROM TOWN. JUST A FEW STEPS TO THE RIVER, SO CONVENIENT AND AMAZING FISHING. THE KITCHEN HAS ALL THE MODERN APPLIANCES AND THE LIVING ROOM HAS VERY COMFORTABLE FURNITURE. THE PICTURES MADE IT SEEM NEAT AND CLEAN, BUT PLEASANTLY SURPRISED THAT IT WAS EVEN MORE SO THAN WHAT THE PICS SHOWED. CAN'T WAIT TO BOOK "RIVER MIST" AGAIN!!

we really enjoyed our time at river mist and caught plenty of trout--my brother and his wife and my son and daughter and our dog dixie really had a good time -didnt know i had a fisher dog til now the house is very clean and snacks were left for us and shampoo conditioner hair dryer ant all kind of spices and fishing tips we will be back and jim and zaidee were super helpful

WE STAYED AT RIVER MIST FOR A WEEK, WE ENJOYED EVER MINUTE OF IT. IT WAS QUITE AND RELAXING AND THE FISHING WAS GREAT. THE MEN FISHED EVERY DAY. WE WENT INTO TOWN TO SOME ANTIQUE SHOPS (FOUND LOTS OF GOOD STUFF). WE DROVE INTO BRANSON TWICE, ONCE WE WENT ZIP LINING, IT WAS GREAT (WOULD RECOMMEND IT). RIVER MIST WAS A WONDERFUL HOUSE IT WAS VERY COMFORTABLE, AND CLEAN, IT HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. IT LOOKS JUST LIKE THE PICTURES, THEIR IS NO TRAFFIC COMING AND GOING. IT WAS A GREAT PLACE TO GET AWAY TO. WE UNLOADED THE BOAT (AT RIVER MIST) THE FIRST DAY AND KEPT IT TIED UP, SO ALL WE HAD TO DO WAS JUST WALK DOWN TO THE RIVER AND GO. WE HAD THREE COUPLES THAT WENT AND HE HAD PLENTY OF ROOM FOR EVERYONE. IF YOU TAKE CHILDREN THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM FOR THEM TO RUN AND PLAY OUTSIDE. THERE IS A WONDERFUL PIZZA PLACE IN GASSVILLE, I CAN'T REMEMBER THE NAME, IT IS NEXT TO THE GROCEY STORE, VERY REASONABLE PRICES. THE OWNERS WERE VERY HELPFUL WITH ALL OUR QUESTIONS. JUST A HINT IF YOU LEAVE FOR A DAY TRIP WHERE YOU WILL BE GONE FOR VERY LONG, I RECOMMEND YOU PULL THE BLINDS, THIS WILL HELP KEEP THE HOUSE COOL. WE WENT TO BULL SHOALS LAKE ONE DAY, IT IS A BEAUTIFUL LAKE, WE RODE ON THE INNER TUBE AND HAD A BLAST. IT WOULD BE A GREAT LAKE TO SKI IN. YES, I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOUSE TO ANYONE, FRIEND OR RELATIVE, AND I HOPE WE HAVE THE CHANCE TO COME BACK.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at River Mist. The house is perfect. The big windows looking out to the river were my favorite part of the house. I was in the kitchen making soup and could still see my grandchildren in their waders in the river! I also enjoyed all the printed, easy to read info about everything inside and outside the house that was provided by the owners.

My husband and I met two other couples for a relaxing and fun weekend. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The home was comfortable, beautifully furnished, roomy and immaculate. The river view and bird watching was exceptional. The Williams are generous and welcoming. Our only regret was that we didn't have longer to stay. We are already planning our next visit (with an additional day).

Our 5 day stay at River Mist was truly magnificent. This was our second stay and it is truly a wonderful experience. The accomodations are surperior and the owners have thouht of every amenety to make your stay a pleasant one. The photos in the description don't do justice to the property and it is more magnificent in person. The property was immaculate and the owners were extremely helpful in answering our questions. We would certainly recommend it to friends and relatives. This will not be our last visit and we plan to return on a regular basis at least twice a year. We would recommend Cotter Trout Dock for your fiahing needs and the 178 Club in Bull Shoals for a night of dining out.

This is a great location for privacy, relaxation, family fun, and fishing. Several things I loved... having the river there for fishing, watching Eagles fly by, lots of "river action" going on.I suggest bringing binoculars!! Playing games (provided) and reading books (also provided if you forget yours) I loved that anything you needed in the cabin seemed to be provided for. The cabin was clean, fresh, and beautiful! The furniture is so comfortable and nice, a huge deal for people with a bad back.I would definately recommend this cabin to my friends and my extended family.

A group of 7 of us spent a weekend at this wonderful house for our first white river fishing trip. Could not of had a better experience. Upon arrival, there were snacks and juice waiting for us like we never left our own houses! River Mist was very clean & well maintained! Everything you could ever need was in the house. Nothing was better than waking up and drinking a cup of coffee while sitting on the deck looking out to the beautiful white river! Very relaxing and quiet place to be. We highly recommend this house to all!! Could not of asked for more!

This property was one of the best places we have ever stayed. EVERYTHING WAS SO CLEAN and MAINTAINED. We had a family reunion. As soon as we all walked in, we all said WOW. What fun this is going to be. Immediately everyone felt at home and started to do their thing--fishing, meditating while watching the river, walking, reading and sitting on the decks. The house has everything you need to cook light or make a large meal. The scenery is beautiful and we caught a lot of fish from the river. I would recommend this property to everyone including people with disabilities. Watching the river from inside the house through the large clean windows is also a vacation.

Absolutely amazing!

The pictures do not do it justice! We (my husband, myself and his mom-84 yrs old) stayed for one week, just as all of the trees and landscaping were starting to bloom. The house is set up with absolutely everything you need; no need to make a trip to the store that first day, Jim and Zaidee have breakfast, fruit and snacks for you. The home is immaculate and everything is top of the line. We have stayed at many vrbo and homeaway locations, but this is the best. Jim and Zaidee even call to check on you after your arrival! You can catch tons of fish from the bank at the house, though we did enjoy our days out with the guides. You see lots of wildlife around the house, though you are not too far from town. Ranger Boats has a great tour you can enjoy during the week also. This will definitely be on our list to go again--per my mother-in-law, it was the best vacation of her life!

We stayed here over New Years Eve, this is our 2nd time back to the Rivermist and definitely won't be our last, Jim and Zaidee are wonderful people to rent from, very accommodating and they even call to make sure everything is ok. This house is so clean and upon arrival we always find a danish on the table, juice and milk in the frig. The photo's are great but you just have to see it to believe it. We found Lettie's for breakfast just up the road and it was very good. I would highly recommend this house to anyone. We plan on staying a week in the summer and can't wait. Thanks again Jim and Zaidee, see you in the summer if not before.

My dad, two brothers and I have gone to the white river several times and stayed at a few different resorts. This was far and away the nicest place we have ever stayed. The house has all new amenities, a beautiful view of the river and the decks are a perfect place to relax after a long day of fishing. The photos don't do it justice. The owners were truly a joy to work with and very accomodating. My only hesitation on recommending the property would be selfish; in that, we plan to make this our permanent stop for all future visits and would like to keep this "jewel on the White River" all to ourselves.

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation away from your normal fast paced life, this is the place for you. This property was well represented by the printed information as well as the pictures used. I personally felt that the property is better than the pictures. There were 6 adults and 1 child in our party and were very comfortable. Plenty of room. The view was great and the two level deck allows you to enjoy the sounds of the river and nature. I have highly recommended this property to some of my friends.

Awesome white river trip

A group of high school and college buddies take an annual fishing trip together. Most of us are from Iowa, but a few come from other parts of the country. We chose the White River this year as it's touted as one of the best trout fisheries in the US. We happened to find River Mist on VRBO and were definitely glad we did. River Mist was located right on the White River with an amazing river view out the back window. The accommodations were excellent and everyone in our party was extremely pleased with our choice to go with River Mist. We arrived to find a welcome pack of drinks and snacks, plenty of info on local restaurants, fishing guides, etc. The house was very spacious and well kept and the location was great. River Mist is located within 20-30 minutes of several great fishing spots, boat rentals, guide services, etc. The water was a little high so shore fishing on the white river proved to be tough. We did see people doing fairly well on shore at the Cotter Trout Dock, but we decided to rent boats for our group. The fishing was great on both the white river and below the norfork dam from boat. Even the more novice fisherman in our group caught plenty of fish. Overall we probably caught close to 300 fish in 2 days. If you love trout fishing, this is definitely a great destination and River Mist is an awesome place to stay. I would definitely stay at River Mist the next time I'm vacationing to the White River and would recommend it to any of my family and friends. The owners do a great job of keeping the place in great shape and really accommodate to guest recommendations. They followed up after our trip asking if there were any maintenance items or suggestions they could take into consideration. We really didn't have any suggestions, as the place was great. I couldn't really think of anything they could have done to make the trip better....other than maybe provide boats with the rental ;-)

River Mist is Wonderful!

My wife and I stayed at River Mist with our two sons and my son's girlfriend this August. I will say that the pictures do River Mist no justice. We were so happily surprised when we arrived, late at night, after an 11 hour drive. The house is beautifully maintained and stocked with everything you could ever need for a week's stay or a month's stay. The view of the river from the sun room was mesmerizing. The fishing on the White River below the house was superb. We had a large lawn area for frisbee and baseball throwing. We have stayed at VRBO locations from the most upscale sections of Destin, Florida to rugged areas like the Northern part of Arkansas. We have never experienced a vacation dream house that could come close to River Mist. We hope to come back!!

Fun spot right on the White River!

What a fun meeting spot between Mississippi and St. Louis to meet our son, his wife and our first 3 month old grandson! We took turns floating and fishing in our son's drift boat and put in at several nearby spots. We could float to the cabin, pull in and rest and then continue down to Rim Shoals to pull the boat out. The White River has always been my son's favorite when he can't get to the rivers out west. The owners were wonderful to work with and had treats waiting for us on the table and in the frig! What sweet hospitality! The cabin has everything you need and you feel right at home immediately. The cabin is clean, comfortable and a wonderful gathering spot for family or a group of friends! We enjoyed the open kitchen area and the wonderful view of the White River. We will return.

My family and I enjoyed our week we spent at River Mist. It was very welcoming and relaxing. We felt right at home as soon as we got there. The access to the river was perfect. This was my 13 month old daughter's first vacation and she had a blast as well. A perfect place if you just want to get away from everything. I will definitely stay at River Mist on our next Arkansas vacation. Thank you Jim and Zaidee for opening your home and making our vacation a very memorable one.

My husband, our adult daughter and I recently stayed at River Mist and we loved it. The house is lovely and spotlessly clean, not to mention right on the beautiful White River. On top of this, the owners made us feel incredibly welcome, for example calling us the first evening to see if we had any questions. We have had many excellent experiences renting through VRBO/Home Away, but this one tops them all. Thank you Jimmy and Zaidee for a wonderful experience!

A Wonderful Week

My family and I stayed at the River Mist Cabin from 6/30-7/7/2011. Our kids LOVED the river and the adults LOVED the fact that every one of our needs had been anticipated by Jim and Zaidee. The view was beautiful, of course, but the pictures of the home come nowhere close to showing how nice it is. It is immaculately clean and has a fully-equipped kitchen. We will definitely be back!!! We plan on coming up there once a year and that means a lot considering we live in Houston, TX. A couple of my high school classmates dropped by to visit one day and they fell in love with the place, too. There's nothing like waking up in the mornings and lifting the blinds to see the beautiful White River!! We saw so many different species of birds and I saw lightning bugs (aka fireflies) for the first time in over 15 years!! The river was cold but refreshing. We didn't do any fishing but I will definitely do that next time. This visit was for my 25-year high school reunion and a nice visit with family for the week. One of the most helpful items in the cabin is a notebook put together that highlights restaurants, activities, etc. from the area. It was very helpful. Fred's Fish House was soooo good we went there twice in a week! Thanks so much for making this home so hospitable and for your wonderful communication throughout everything. I think I left my heart in the Ozarks...my home, and I truly felt "at home" at River Mist.

Fishing trip with the "Guys" at River Mist

First off, Mr. Jim and Mrs. Zaidee are a pleasure to work with when booking this cabin. Paying for our cabin was with ease. Being from South Louisiana and unfamiliar with this territory, we had many questions about the area. Don't hesitate to ask them, they are very informative and can point you in the right direction. The cabin was great. FIRST CLASS!! Everything you need is furnished. Jim and Zaidee did an excellent job of decorating the cabin to give it that fisherman's/ outdoorsman look. The pictures that are on this site, give you an idea of what the property and cabin looks like. The place looks even more spectacular once you are actually there. This place is very relaxing. We enjoyed having a cup of coffee on the deck in the morning and grilling on the pit in the afternoon while enjoying a cold beverage. Our main goal on this trip was to catch trout on the White River. This was an ease because the river was right in ourbackyard. There was plenty of river frontage on the "River Mist" property. The water was high because of recent rains, but we still managed to catch fish. In total we caught about 30 fish, but because of size limits threw some fish back. What worked well for us was artificial salmon eggs on a salmon egg hook. We used white, green, and pink eggs. Also we found crankbaits worked well too. We used a Rapla Countdown. So if you are looking to fish, I hope these tips can help. Don't hesitate to ask the locals at stores and restraunts how the fish are biting. They can give some more incite on what baits to use. The area has many things to do especially if you enjoy the outdoors and the beautiful scenery of the ozarks. Just a few things that can be done in the area are Antique shopping, exploring caves and caverns, canoeing, fishing, hiking, etc...

Our week at "River Mist" was wonderful! The pictures do not do this wonderful home justice. The mist on the river in the morning is so beautiful. Jim and Zaidee have so many added touches that tell you that they truly want you to feel welcome and comfortable. The beds are comfortable, and the house is sparkling. The fishing was outstanding - we fished mostly from the bank and once we talked to local fishermen and got the right lure we caught 20 trout in an hour. We even had trout and eggs for breakfast! The small towns in the area are very friendly and helpful. We loved Cotter, Harrison, Mountain Home, and Mountain View. We loved Skipper's Restaurant in Mountain Home ( $5.99 breakfast with 6 oz rib eye, two eggs, biscuits and gravy Mmmm) Be sure to visit the park in Mountain View where local musicians gather every day to jam. We took the free ferry from Peel to Branson. We spent 3 days at Big Cedar Lodge and to tell you the truth we wished we were back at "River Mist" . On our first Fishing Trip to the White River & the "Twin Lakes Area", our Son & I stayed for the last week of April, 2011 at "River Mist". The "Cabin" is very nicely laid out with nice furnishings, comfortable mattresses & very pleasant decor. The "Great Room" is very large with an outstanding view of the White River & the undeveloped forest on the far side. Everything you could need is there for your use, and everything is sparkling clean. When you arrive, you immediately feel comfortablre & relaxed. We caught some nice Rainbows and enjoyed the beauty of the countryside and the friendly attitude of all the local folks. ( I'd rank them right up there on the "Friendly Scale" with my fellow Texans.) Jim & Zaidee are great & thoughtful hosts. As residents of the area for about 15 years, they are an excellent & accomodating source of local information. We really enjoyed our week very much and would recommend "River Mist" very highly.

We had the best time, like the other review...."there were no surprises" the only surprises there were was the nice fresh fruit, juice, milk and danish that was there upon our arrival, and although we didn't use it, there was also a disposable camera. We are definitely going back. We wanted to cancel another resort that we have booked for June but you all are already booked for that week so we will try for next year. The River Mist is a great place and cannot wait to return!!! We will be sure to tell our friends and family how clean and accommodating it is. Thanks again!

We stayed four very relaxing nights. River Mist is very clean and comfortable. We had a great time fishing and just relaxing on the decks looking at the river. We even took a day trip to Branson. Jimmy and Jaidee have thought of everything to make your stay at River Mist very comfortable just bring a change of clothes and some food!!! We will be returning very soon!!

The River Mist property was all and more it was advertised to be. Very clean and well appointed with everything we needed. River view was great. We will consider this location again when vacationing in the area.

My husband and I drove up here from Texas for our one year anniversary. The house was so clean and welcoming. The way everything was set up made things easy to find. The porches right out on the river were a great place to relax. All in all, our stay was fantastic and we plan on returning in March. Jimmy and Zaidee really put in the extra effort to make sure their guests are comfortable and we appreciate that.

We stay at vacation rental homes whenever we travel and River Mist is the most immaculate & well maintained home we have stayed in. The property looks as good or better than the photos. It is very warm and inviting. The location is superb--right on the river--perfect for fishing or just hanging out on the two fantastic decks. All of the amenities from soft sheets & towels to the toiletries provided in the bathrooms were terrific. It is near great fishing and some very good restaurants. We ate at ME on the Square in Mountain Home for a great, more upscale dining experience and enjoyed a delicious brunch at Club 178 in Bull Shoals. I would also highly recommend Holly(info at the house) for a massage--she was very good. I would recommend this property to anyone traveling to this area. We have stayed in other homes in the area and they do not compare to this one.

We were impressed from the min. we arrived to the time we left as to the details the owners have put into this home. There is not one thing you might want or need they have not thought of. Fishing was great. Owners were very nice. They made sure you were very comfortable. If you want a vacation that you can really get away from it all, take advantage of River Mist.

This place is absolutely beautiful inside and out and the best value on the river. Dont even bother looking around for better deals or places...just pray they are not booked. The house is immaculately clean and gorgeously furnished. Can’t say enough about how impressive the house is...but you will not want to stay inside. The decks are wonderful all times of the day. This is the only house on the row with true river access. I walked in on a low water day and spent 4 hours knee-to-waist deep. Caught over 20 trout spincasting in swimming trunks!! My family loved it as well. We are already planning our return trip. We will be back every year until my wife convinces Jim to sell it to us!! In addition, the owners are just good people and easy to work with. Thank you Jim and Zaidee for offering up this wonderful place for us all to enjoy.

If you travel and want to have the comforts of home, this is the place to stay. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find the house was prefect. It was very clean, and had everything you would need and more. The little extra touched we noticed upon arrival, were very thoughtful and very appreciated. After fishing all day on the river, this was the perfect place to spend our evenings relaxing with our family and friends. The beds are very comfortable; we felt right at home. The first day we arrived we saw a bald eagle flying above the back deck, and deer crossing the road as we drove to and from the house. If you are looking for a place that feels like home where you can relax and have the amenities of home, this is the place. We are already planning our next trip. Thanks, to the owners Jim and Zaidee for everything, your home is a wonderful place to stay. We are alreay looking forward to returning to the area next year. Thanks again. We stayed labor day weekend at River Mist and absolutely loved it! With its great location, we enjoyed an afternoon on Bull Shoals Lake, Canoed the Buffalo River and went fishing on the White River (which was right in the back yard!) The decks were the perfect place to relax after such fun filled days! Jimmy and Zaidee were so helpful and went out of their way to make our stay very special. We will definitely be back!
