We stayed at the Starz Vineyard for a week to escape the city and enjoy the Okanagan. It was the perfect place to relax. We enjoyed the house very much, especially the huge shower! It was great to get down to the lake and swim. We loved being able to go explore all the local wineries. Would definetley recommend this property to family and friends.

What a fantastic place! It was lovely and peaceful, a stone's throw from great beaches and a very comfortable stay for our family. The accommodation was really really lovely, the hospitality given to us was great - couldn't have asked for better. We've already been recommending it to our friends and would love to come back and stay again!

The Starz vinyard and the Battie family were one of the best parts of our trip. The property and loft were clean and meticulously maintained. The Batties were warm and inviting, always going out of their way to make us feel welcome. They went above and beyond our expectations as hosts, especially with our 4 year old son, Brandon, letting him ride on their horse and tractor. The loft was clean and comfortable, with it being the only place we felt comfortable to let our 1 year old twins crawl around on the floor. A nice change from dirty hotel rooms. The craftmanship of the loft was admirable, most notably the tile shower with the sky light. Thanks again to the Battie family for sharing their home with us. We feel as though we have made some new friends in Kaledon, and look forward to seeing them again some day, as we will definately return to te Starz vinyard. Absolutely outstanding!

Starz Vineyard was my "home away from home" from January to April 2012, while I attended the Viticulture Certificate program at the Okanagan College in Penticton. I couldn't have asked for a better temporary home while attending college and being away from my husband and my own home in Calgary, AB. The suite is located in a beautiful location in Kaleden, only 10 minutes away from Penticton. It is surrounded by vineyard, mountains, trees and has a partial view of the lake. The suite and the property are well maintained. The suite is exactly as pictured and I found it to be very spacious and comfortable. It has a beautiful tile shower complete with a rain shower head. I had everything I needed to live comfortably during my 4 month stay, including a washer and dryer. Stuart, Tina and girls are wonderful people and made me feel welcome right away. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and ensure my needs were met. Stuart makes his own wine from his vineyard, and he kindly shared a glass with me from time to time while we talked "viticulture." The family loves animals and have chickens, horses and two friendly golden retrievers on the property. This is a wonderful vacation home, and in my case, was a wonderful "home away from home." I highly recommend the suite to others. You won't be disappointed.

I read so many great reviews online about this listing so my expectations were high. My expectations were exceeded! Stuart and Tina and their 2 daughters are great hosts. They are friendly, accomodating and informative yet gave us the space we needed to relax and to come and go as we wished. The cottage is well-appointed and private with new, comfortable furniture. The large shower has two shower heads and the linens were in new condition. The cottage was very clean and well-maintained. We ate most of meals in and had all the equipment we needed, including a barbecue. The weather is chilly this time of year (November) but the cottage is well-heated with in-floor heating. There was plenty of storage out of the way for our suitcases, etc that were not being used during our stay. The two dogs are also great hosts! Located just south of Penticton, we were close to shopping for groceries and for dining out. We were short drives to some excellent wineries and found the larger wineries with tasting rooms and their restaurants to be open, even mid-week. We were very fortunate to be here while Stuart and Tina were harvesting their pinot noir crop and they invited us to join in the festivities, if we wanted to participate. I really enjoyed picking and we had a sampling of the grape juice, which was very good! I highly recommend this listing and we will be back!

Having just spent 5hrs driving from Golden it was great to arrive at the Starz Vineyard and see where we'd be staying for a week. The cottage is in the middle of the vineyard and we were there shortly before picking season so the vines were laden with grapes, much to the delight of our 2yr old. Shortly after we arrived Stuart came down to greet us with a bottle of wine, which was excellent. We were made to feel incredibly welcome straight away and felt right at home. During the week we got to know Stuart and his family and had a wonderful time, often over a bottle of wine. Our daughter had a great time exploring, playing with the chickens and Stuart and Tina's friendly dogs. The cottage has everything you need for your stay, comfy beds, fully kitted out kitchen and bbq on the balcony. We were only 15 mins from Penticton but Kaledon is a lot quieter and everything is still very accessible. We spent our days exploring the many vineyards in the surrounding area, took a trip on the Kettle Valley railway and headed down to Osoyoos to the excellent NK'Mip Cultural Centre and Vineyard. We had a wonderful time at the Starz and Stuart, Tina and the girls were excellent hosts, we have been recommending Starz to all our friends ever since we got home and will continue to do so. If we are back in the Okanagan we will definitely stay with Stuart and Tina again. Thank you again for a fantastic week.

This was the perfect place for the 3 of us girls to calm our nerves before our first Ironman Triathlon. Close enough to Penticton to quickly drive to town but far enough to find peace and quiet. The kitchen had everything we needed and we made good use of the washer and dryer. Stuart, Tina and their girls made us feel at home and we were delighted to step out the door early race day morning and find words of encouragement written all down the sidewalk! There is an amazing cafe (Frog City Cafe) just down the street that was so delicious we ending up going there for lunch 3 days in a row. The homemade bread on the sandwiches was so delicious we talked the owner into selling us a loaf and we had fabulous toast for days! Starz Vineyard is simply amazing and I look forward to returning someday.

We had an amazing time at Starz Vineyard! There were three of us that stayed for Ironman Canada and we couldn't have asked for better accommodations and such wonderful hosts. Stuart and Tina were absolutely wonderful during our stay and invited us to drink some homemade wine on their patio. They were truly welcoming in every way. The cottage had every amenity we needed, as we cooked every night and relaxed on the balcony overlooking the vineyard. I cannot wait to go back with my family and kids and stay for another week! I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could!

Our family of 4 were had summer vacation in Penticton in 2011 and we had stayed at Starz Vineyard - Kaledon for 2 weeks. The cottage is inside a tranquil and beautiful vineyard. The location is convenience and it just takes 10 mins drive to Penticton. The more important is that the cottage is well equipped and have everything ready for our stay. We could cook our dinner, enjoy the wine and relax. More to say, it's quiet, clean, cozy and have absolute privacy for us. Stuart and family are truly nice and helpful, they provided us a place that feels like home. My kids made friends with Stuart's daughters and their cousins (also the lovely dogs) during the stay and they were so eager to come back the cottage to meet their friends after the tiredness hockey training daily. We enjoyed very much our stay here and thanks again Stuart and Tina. We recommend this peaceful & lovely cottage to everyone, and we hope to come back again!!

Don't pass up the chance to stay at this unique apartment located on a vineyard! First off the apartment: The owners have taken great care with the apartment and it shows in every way right down to the flooring in the crawl spaces. The apartment was clean and could easily accommodate a family of 4 so for just the two of us there was plenty of room. As someone who enjoys cooking the full size kitchen with new appliances was great. The patio, overlooking the vineyard, was perfect to sit on and enjoy some wine or have breakfast. The apartment also has laundry facilities should you need them. The location: Kaleden is quiet farming community between Penticton and Okanagan Falls. If you want to sit on the beach it is a 2-3 minute drive to the beach in Kaleden or about 10 minutes to the beach in Penticton. If you are looking to sample some fresh fruit and produce there are several stands just on the highway just outside town. If you like to bike like we do you can catch the KVR trail system in Kaleden and then ride along Skaha Lake and all the way up to Penticton, the Naramata bench and Kelowna depending on how much energy you have. If you like wine you are in heaven! The number of wineries between Penticton and Oliver or even Osoyoos are too many to count not to mention the fact that the hosts make their own wines. And this brings me to my last point.... The hosts: Tina, Stuart, their daughters and their dogs are very friendly hosts. From the dogs welcoming us the moment we pulled into the driveway to Stuart teaching us about wine making over a glass of the house Pinot, our hosts were one of the reasons this place is so memorable. All I can say is book this place early and you won't regret it. If you read this in February it might be too late to book the place for the summer :)

The Starz Vineyard is even better than described. The property is well maintained and a great family destination. The Battie family goes out of there way to make your vacation even more memorable by making sure you are having an amazing stay. We love the local Kaledon beach for the quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The location is quiet and there is many things for the kids to do, they like playing with the dogs, feeding the chickens and running through the vineyard, checking on what Stuart is doing. We as a family are going back for a third year because every year we go we have a new adventure even though it is the same location. We love the surroundings and the many beaches and activities. Everyone should stay at the Starz vineyard to enjoy the five star treatment and the wonderful hospitality the Battie family provides. We are looking forward to next year.

My husband, our 11 year old son and I had the pleasure of staying at Starz Vineyard the first week of July, for one week. The cottage is very nice (well-supplied, well-maintained and clean) and was quite spacious for the three of us. It was nice having a kitchen to prepare some meals and the extra room made for a relaxing time. The views out every window are wonderful! We found our hosts to be extremely pleasant and accommodating, and we looked forward to the warm welcome we would always get from their two four-footed friends! We also found the location of the cottage a bonus, as we quite enjoyed spending time at the little park and beach at the bottom of the hill. We look forward to staying at Starz Vineyard again in the future! Lee and Family Nanaimo, BC

Muriel and I really enjoyed our stay at Starz Vineyard. Stuart & Tina are good hosts with two friendly dogs and all welcomed us. The accomadation was great and really suited us. We enjoyed visiting wineries and some walks. There is a lot to do in the area without driving to far. We had a really restful time and I know our dog would have been happy to stay! The weather was cooler than normal for June but we enjoyed the time anyway. Nick Underwood

STARZ Vineyard has to be by far the best acomodation in Kaleden and the Penticton Area. The amenities are incredible, modern and very well taken care off. If you can appreciate Architecture and Hard work then you would appreciate this cottage even more, as it was designed and built by the owners Sturart and Tina. They have created a charming and beautiful place to stay at and is nestled in their own Vineyard. The views from the Cottage are spectacular and the peace and tranquility you get from a stay in this place is underscribably, being able to see the dark clear sky with all the stars and waking up to rows of vines as the mist clears is somethign spectacular. I have travelled to Sonoma and Napa, and this place is simply superior in all aspects. The best thing about STARZ Vineyard is the hosts, Stuart and Tina along with their Daughters are the most wonderful hosts you will ever encounter, they will give you a warm welcome to Canada and will set you up for an unbelievable stay. Would not stay at ANY OTHER LOCATION... and for IRONMAN WEEK, this is a must, you are only 10 minutes drive away from town, which allows quick access to the festivities yet, far enough that you can focus on your race needs and peace and quite come race day.... STARZ vineyard is directly responsible for my 10:02:03 time at IM Canada. Stuart and Tina We love you guys, you guys are amazing and this cottage is incredible See you next year !!!!!!

We came to Penticton for Ironman Canada. Stuart and Tina and their daughters were lovely. They did everything to make us feel right at home. The Vineyard is just off the bike course and they came out to cheer for us. The day after the race we were invited to the big house for a BBQ with some of the neighbors. It was really quite a treat and we felt a very special connection to the area because of this act of kindness. If I am ever back in the area I would stay at Starz Vineyard again.

My friend and I stayed at Starz Vineyard during the week of Ironman Canada in Penticton. It was the perfect place to retreat to after dealing with different logistics every day at the race location where energy is tense! It's close enough that we could drive to the race within 10 minutes, but far enough away to take our minds off of the race and relax and enjoy the beautiful views. The property was big with lots of space to store all kinds of things, lots of light and windows looking out to the vineyard. Very peaceful and relaxing. It had all the amenities of home and we didn't need to worry about anything. In particular, the shower was heaven!! After a grueling day of racing, it was just what the doctor ordered. Stuart and Tina were so welcoming. They actually went out to watch the race, printed up our race results for us and videotaped our finishes. Then we had a barbeque the last day with their family and celebrated. They are lovely people with such great children. I would highly recommend Starz for any type of visit, racing or vacation!

Our family of four had the privilege of staying at STARZ VINEYARD for a week while we attended Okanagan Hockey School. We could not have made a better choice of accommodation, the cottage was immaculate, well furnished and equipped and a true home away from home. The location, a quiet friendly neighbourhood just 10 minutes to downtown, was great and easy to find even though it was our first time in the area. The cottage was a peaceful and relaxing retreat after a busy day of hockey, beaches and sightseeing. Enjoying a glass of wine made from the grapes grown on the property with our hosts and new friends, Stuart and Tina, made the stay even more special. They are truly wonderful people and we thank them for sharing their lovely home with us. Of course we can't forget the dogs, Harley and Lilly, and the chickens! Our boys (age 6 and 8) had a blast collecting eggs and feeding the chickens! We really appreciated them being allowed to roam and explore the vineyard. We will not hesitate to recommend STARZ and look forward to the day we return.

I was a bit suspicious when my wife informed me that we were renting an apartment above a garage in the Penticton area. We had read reviews of former guests and were convinced the description of the place really sounded like a nice getaway. Boy, were we right. This unit is extremely clean and furnished with quality appliances and furniture. The owners were open to sharing their very own wine and we spent a couple of evenings reliving the adventures of our day. The transactional side of reserving and renting this unit was not complicated at all. In fact, it was very easy. We have used vacation rental companies for over ten years and this is was one of the easiest. Although our vacation only included my wife and myself, it could easily accommodate four people. Aside from having such great owners to converse with, they openly shared Harley and Lillie (dogs) who served as the security detail upon entering and leaving. We also loved every aspect of staying there, even the chickens greeted us coming and going. It added to the fun of it all. We'll be back.

I was originally planning to stay at a hotel in Penticton during my attendance at a conference. Then, I noticed that Stuart and Tina's Starz vineyard "hideaway" was available at approximately the same cost as my planned stay at the hotel. What a wonderful choice this was! Located in Kaleden, a small village on the lake shore, this property and the hosts provided a relaxing, peaceful and beautiful experience. It was fascinating to stay at a home in a working vineyard and, as a bonus, I learned a lesson or two about viniculture during the week from my hosts and from their friends who would occasionally drop by the vineyard. Not only were the facilities top notch, Stuart and Tina went out of their way to see after the comfort of their guest. I highly recommend it!

We had the most amazing time at the Starz Vineyard this past summer. They made us feel right at home. They are extremely hospitable. We enjoyed visiting in the evening with a wonderful glass of their home brewed wine. We even had a hide and seek game with their younger daughter and her friends in the vineyard, our boys really liked that. We brought some of our boys toys, but the Battie's got out sidewalk chalk and lawn bowling and the boys hardly touched their toys. They really went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic. We enjoyed the beaches all around, lakes, parks, hiking trails, tennis courts. It is such a convenient place we could come back for a little nap with our small children. It's nice and quiet at night too, and really close to Penticton if you want to do anything in the city only takes about 5 minutes to get there. Our little boys 6 and 3 had a blast playing with Stuart, the dogs, and feeding the chickens. It was so beautiful. We are looking forward to seeing our new friends again next summer. It was really interesting to learn about the vineyard as well and can't wait to see what it looks like a little farther along next July.

"We loved our stay! Incredible cottage in an incredible area!" My boyfriend and I have had the pleasure of staying numerous times at the cottage. The location is perfect, it's not to far from town. It's perfect for a small family or a couple that are looking for a romantic getaway. The place is fully furnished with everything you can think of, from beach towels, to shot glasses, a bbq and even a washer and dryer. The cottage is surronded by a vineyard. With Stuart's profession in winemaking, he tells you all about the vineyard and will even offer you a glass of homemade wine that is "delicious". Now how many people get the pleasure of staying on a vineyard?? Tina, Stuart and their daughters are so welcoming. We have truly been blessed by their friendship and hospitality. I would recommend anyone to this beautful cottage. What makes it even more fun to stay there is to watch the chickens run around and have Harley and Lily greet us everytime.. Thanks for the memories!!

"We spent a very enjoyable month in the Starz Vineyard cottage. The home has high quality appliances and the workmanship of the finishing's is great. Everything we need was included. Stuart and Tina Battie are wonderful hosts and I look forward to sharing a glass of wine with them again soon. With the separate driveway and parking, we felt like we had our own home and gardens, but without the responsibility of doing any of the work. The views are spectacular, and living amongst a working vineyard is a real interesting experience. The Kaleden Beach is only a moment's drive away, and close enough that you can easily walk to it. I prefer this beach over the ones in Penticton. It is less crowded, more family oriented and has a boat launch and tennis courts. Next time we are in the Penticton area we will be sure to book into the Starz Vineyard again. It really was a pleasure to stay there." Michael & Debbie Haskett, February 2010

On August 30th, we Stayed at the Guest House of Starz Vineyards, this place was incredible, very close to town 10 minute drive, and it sits in a very quiet and cozy vineyard, next to a fantastic lake, which is perfect for picnicks, swimming or just chilling. The accomodations where 5+ stars, super clean, and incredible finishes, this made the stay feel like a real vacation instead of staying at a hotel, home cooked meals, relaxation at its best. State of the art facilities, and the best part was the company from the Owners, this was a trully unique experience, we got to know them well and spent couple of nights drinking with them, they are a very very nice family and super attentive as hosts. Would 100% recommend it to anyone going to Penticton or Kaleden and looking for a true vacation. The place is located also very close from 38 or so winneries, so there is plenty of drinking and site seeing as well. WE WILL BE BACK !!!!!!

My girlfriend and I stayed at STARZ Vineyard with another couple for Ironman week at the end of August 2009. Location: just over an hour from Kelowna airport, about 10 minutes from the center of Penticton, 3 minutes from a quiet lakeside beach (Skaha Lake) with swimming and sunning areas. Beautiful view of vineyards, the lakes, mountain vistas. Very convenient to the surrounding areas. Quiet during Ironman week without the hustle and bustle, also without the energy that you might see in town but you can go into town easy enough if you want that. Really easy to find. Owners: Stuart and Tina, two daughters, two labradors. The dogs will leave you alone if you're not a big fan but they will come and say hello whenever you come home. Incredibly friendly and will chase a ball (a slimy one) all day if you can keep up with them. The two daughters are great company. Stuart and Tina are some of the nicest most accommodating hosts I've had the pleasure of staying with. Will make sure you have everything you need, even if it means pulling it from their own house for your use. I'm not promising anything but Stuart and Tina entertained us with 10 or so liters of his "wine" (a delicious and refreshing concoction from the grapes he grows) over the few days we stayed and some great evening hours on the front porch. The Cottage House: Perfect size for two couples. You can't hide from each other too much other than your own bedrooms so hopefully you get along. Kitchen and barbecue with full accompaniment of utensils and cookware, tv with plenty to watch when you just want to put your feet up and zone out (lots of hockey and soccer coverage in Canada for those of us from the states). 3 garages but park in front, there's equipment and soon to be a hot rod and maybe boat taking up the space. Lots of windows and operable skylights for a nice breeze in the summer. Also has an a/c unit. Everything is upstairs (tough post-ironman race day). Shopping in Penticton. Fruit stand with veggies and other small items on the corner. Has washer and dryer in unit. Ironman week: Really close to town. Parking in town is easy. Even on race day it wasn't a problem. Quiet at the house. Good roads for biking. Good spot to head up yellow lake backwards and check the last 20 miles of the bike course. Big table and floor space to lay out your gear. Laundry room downstairs to put bikes and stinky clothes. Awesome reclining couch. Perfect pre- and post-race day relaxing. Incredible stay

?his was not the first family vacation for me in the Okanagan valley, but it was definitely the best. My other five or six visits, I have stayed in hotels, which was more expensive and not as comfortable as a carriage house at Starz vineyard. Local beach in Kaleden is a marvel, despite a high season, in the mornings, it felt like we are on the private beach. Next time, we will bring tennis racquets and test a local courts as well. I also, would like to mention the owners, who by force of their personalities and an occasional extra effort, made out stay more pleasurable.

We would strongly recommend this Home away from Home. Our family of four stayed at the cottage for one week in August 2009. Our daughters are 10 and 12 years old and loved playing with the Battie's dog's. This place was very clean and handy for it's location so close to Penticton and of course Tickleberry's. The Battie family are extremly nice people and became like true friend's. We all wish we were still there enjoying the view's from the balcony. Great value for the money when you compare it to a little hotel room. Overall a great place to stay.Would highly recommend.

Stuart and Tina's Cottage was one of the highlights of our trip. Set in a relaxing enviroment, they have built a beautiful vacation home that we were very sad to leave. About 5 minutes south of Penticton, it was nice to be away from the crowds and noise, and yet convenient enough that we went to town every day.. The beach in Kaleden was very nice if we didn't want to fight the crowds in town. Stuart and Tina and their family were extremely friendly and accomodating. Very friendly enviroment for young children (4,9 and 12). They roamed the vineyard and played with the Battie's pets all day. We have stayed in 6 vacation homes in the past ten years. This was by far the best overall experience and value for our money. Not wheelchair accessible.

IIt was one of the best vacations we have had. The place felt like home (clean and cozy) and the owner made our stay there very special. Thanks to Steward, Tina, Rachel and Amy! And their dogs Lilly and Harley! We love the area and water activities, and yet we had the privilege of quiet relaxing evening. We will be coming back :)

Our stay was great, the owners are very nice and they made our stay very enjoyable. The evenings on the deck overlooking the vinyard, lake, and mountains with a glass of vino are priceless. The unit was clean, had everything we needed and there is no doubt we will be back. Just wonderful.
