Aire Serrano, or "Mountain Air", is a painstakingly renovated 2BR/2Ba boutique residence, perfectly situated two blocks from Plaza Serrano in the heart of Palermo Soho.
Available as a luxury vacation rental, the apartment comes with personalized concierge services. Your very own attentive local host will be there to greet you on arrival, and ensure that your stay in BA will be truly un-cookie-cutter.
A study in light, air and space, the apartment preserves the spirit and charm of its distinctively BA Deco-era roots. Contemporary but not cold, organic with many touches of nature, recalling BA's past yet firmly of the present, aireSerrano is an oasis in the heart of BA's most charming shopping, gallery and dining area.
Step off the street through a secure door into a chandeliered hallway. Enter the apartment and a gently gurgling Zen fountain greets you. A spacious kitchen/living/dining area opens through two original French doors onto a balcony where you can sip coffee at an antique French bistro table.
A study area and a very private bedroom with ensuite bathroom and rain shower complete the lower level.
Soaring, open stairs rise in a glass atrium to the upper level, where a glass-fronted masterbedroom flows into a luxurious bathroom with an inside/outside Jacuzzi. Sink into the top-of-the-line Sealy Posturepedic "Providence" Pillowtop mattress, onto plush feather and down Arredo pillows and contemplate the blue BA skies.
The upper level opens onto a private deck, complete with a slate waterfall, bamboo and lavender plantings, teak recliners and a teak patio set.
Personalize the space with your favorite music by docking your iPod directly into the apartment's home entertainment system. Wireless internet and a cell phone provide connectivity. Video surveillance, an electronic security system and a safe offer peace of mind.
Towels by Thomas O'Brien, hangers by Muji, bathrobes by Arredo. Designed by an owner-aesthete in collaboration with local architects, the apartment is available for short-term rental to guests who share a similar refined, understated sensibility.
The residence takes its name from an Argentine expression for a wholesome way of living -- "aire serrano" (mountain air) is synonymous with "buen vida" (good life).
Pause and listen to the trickle of the falling water.
Inhale and take in some Aire Serrano.

I have stayed in this apartment multiple times while I've been in Buenos Aires for business over the past 8 months. The location of the apartment can't be beat - minutes away from Plaza Serrano and Plaza Armenia. There is also a small market directly next door, which is very convenient for small purchases. One of the nicest parts about the apartment is how quiet it is. Despite being on a fairly busy street there is very little noise, especially in the master bedroom. When the weather is nice, the outdoor spaces are excellent for relaxing, eating outdoors, sunbathing, etc. Another fantastic aspect of the apartment is the manager, Martin. He is extremely response and speaks excellent English. He was able to accommodate multiple travel changes and special requests and do it in a very quick fashion. All together, this is one of the better rental properties in Palermo and the best in its price range, in my opinion. It is clear that the owners and the manager take great pride in the property and providing guests with a stress free and enjoyable stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

We were two couples, ages 32-42, one from New York and the other from San Francisco, and we can't recommend this place highly enough! The logistics were seamless: couple of emails back and forth, PayPal deposit, PayPal security deposit, person greeted/let us in/explained the rules of the road when we arrived, person (Martin--very pleasant to deal with throughout booking) saw us off on our final day and the deposit was promptly returned. The place itself was awesome--good-sized living/dining/kitchen space; 2 decent-sized bedrooms, one on the main floor, the other upstairs (good for couple time apart), both with en-suite baths; an awesome terrace just the other side of the upstairs bedroom (wish I was on that terrace right now, in fact, staring out the window at this cloudy San Francisco sky). Neighborhood (Palermo Soho) is great. As others have said, tons of restaurants, many of which, within blocks, are on the "best of BsAs" lists. We hit several of them, including La Cabrera (steak), which is right around the corner, and Cluny (more steak and other options), which might be 4 blocks away. The apartment itself is two blocks southwest of Plaza Serrano (all-night-long party some nights, but the apartment is far enough away that if you don't want to participate (we didn't) you are not in the middle of it). Except for a slightly long (12 minutes?) yet pleasant walk to the subway, couldn't have been a better location.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

My wife and I are just finishing spending a week in Aire Serrano.. Buenos Aires in late June is colder than we were anticipating but Aire Serrano has been clean, comfortable, warm getaway. Loads of natural light in the master bedroom and bath - great for the shorter winter days. Location is ideal - food, drinks, taxis, (and quiet when you want). Good mini-mart next door with groceries to help stock the kitchen, too! Check-in/out was trouble-free, and was wonderful to be shown around the apartment when we arrived. Sarkis, La Cabrera, and plenty of places to grab a coffee/drink within easy walking distance.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

I cannot say enough good stuff about this apartment. My three friends and I shared this apartment for our 10 day trip to Buenos Aires, and we couldn't have been happier. Here are the top reasons why: 1 - The apartment is beautiful and looks exactly the way it does in the pictures. It gets a lot of natural sunlight, the upstairs bedroom and terrace is beautiful. There is a kitchen (that we admittedly did not use much), and a great couch and TV. 2 - Great location! The apartment is in Palermo Viejo, which has the best shopping and restaurants in Buenos Aires. We didn't have to venture very far from the apartment when we went to dinner each night, there were so many great choices (and we live in San Francisco, CA, so we know good food). Also, there is a great little market right next to the apartment where we stopped by often to buy water, fruits, little things. Very convenient. 3 - The "concierge" service is a great added bonus. Every time we had a question or made a request, we would get response/assistance in a very timely fashion. 4 - Paying through PayPal was easy and secure. Our deposit was immediately returned back to us after we checked out of the apartment Highly recommend this apartment! Would come back in a heartbeat!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Owner info
About the owner: I am a well-travelled fan of nature, art and architecture and a voracious consumer of world culture, both high and low-brow.
Why the Owner Chose Palermo Soho:
Aire Serrano was a labor of love, allowing me to transform an old, dark but charming apartment into a study of light, air and space. My vision was to convert it from a cave-like warren into a soaring duplex bathed in light, seamlessly integrating the outside with the inside. The pictures honestly under-represent the myriad angles, vignettes and senses of space that have emerged from the apartment's painstaking transformation.
My tastes run to the clean, sophisticated yet understated. I find beauty in small carefully-constructed details, and have sought to incorporate some of them into the apartment, such as the Zen bamboo fountain, the slate waterfall and the lighting coves over the living area.
Aire Serrano was meant to be a sanctuary within a stone's throw of Plaza Serrano's action, nestled among Palermo Soho's elegant restaurants, cafes, boutiques and galleries. It is my little retreat in Buenos Aires and my launchpad for Latin America -- I am happy to share it with fellow discerning travellers and citizens of the world.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Available as a luxury vacation rental, the apartment comes with personalized concierge services. Your very own attentive local host will be there to greet you on arrival, and ensure that your stay in BA will be truly un-cookie-cutter.
