The Sterling Lodge at Eagles Nest is where West Coast mountain living becomes reality in the East and where the loss of time means something other than jet lag. For the first time ever, the East Coast mountains have something that rivals the West. Come discover it for yourself while it is still a secret that this area is quickly becoming known as the “Aspen of the East.”
Built in 2007, this luxury cabin combines the best of old world craftsmanship and modern amenities. Built entirely of locally indigenous woods and stone, the Sterling Lodge has 3,000 square feet of heated space, with more than 6,800 square feet under roof. Porches wrap around the entire home offering a 360-degree view from this location just 500 feet shy of the highest point in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC, where you can see three different states from this 5,000 foot elevation.
Perhaps most unique is that these are three flat acres on a mountain top. However, other distinctions in this exceptional home include the fact that Sterling Lodge is 100% solid wood with not one sheet of drywall. Each room is constructed with a different wood - in fact, one of the rooms actually has paneling from the Old Banner Elk Inn. But we did not leave out the modern conveniences either, those you might find in a West Coast high-end mountain development, including the most modern of electronics, appliances, kitchen facilities, audio/visual equipment, and internet/communications capability. You can get away from it all and/or get away and stay fully connected.
This luxury North Carolina vacation home rental is located in the exclusive Banner Elk Eagle’s Nest Retreat, which offers FREE use of the community facilities including Horseback Riding*, Disc Golf, Adventure Trail including a 100-foot climbing tower, Bicycles, Moto-Cross trails**, Archery, Kite Flying, Soccer Field, Barbecue Pavilion, Mountain Library and more.
