Villa Playa Del Faro is a brand new elegant oceanfront vacation rental home located on the Yucatan Peninsula's Gulf of Mexico! Telchac Puerto is home to a large American Flamingo colony plus other species of birds. This comfortable, spacious retreat is your home away from home, with beautiful ocean views and fresh sea breezes day and night.
Villa Playa Del Faro is located in a quiet area with American, Canadian and British neighbors who live there months at a time. We are only 45 minutes north of the large, colonial city of Merida (over 1 million people), which has an international airport (Code MID) featuring direct flights from Houston, Miami, Atlanta and Mexico City. The best connections are on Continental Airlines, offering 1 stop service from most US cities directly into Merida. You can also save some money and fly into the resort area of Cancun, which is about a three hour drive from the Villa; it is also served by a luxury bus that travels from Cancun to Merida.
Villa Playa Del Faro is architect designed, with Talavera tiles finished bathrooms, kitchen and stairway giving it a definite Mexican style. It is a brand new construction accommodating 4-6 people. Just a few steps out your door, your private gate opens onto a deserted white sandy beach that you can explore for miles. Swim, snorkel, fish in the warm aqua-blue waters of the Gulf. The peaceful, shallow water with no undertow or drop-off and no sea grass, is perfect for wading, swimming and the variety of shells is fascinating. At the end of the day, be amazed by the breathtaking sunsets, listen to the waves and enjoy a blanket of stars with no light pollution to get in the way. The quiet, warm Gulf breezes are made for delicious tropical nights!
It has two bedrooms each with private bathroom with shower and balcony. The master bedroom has an oceanfront terrace with a spectacular view. The master bedroom has a queen bed; the second bedroom has two queen beds. Downstairs, a kitchen, open plan dining area and lounge look out to the outdoor patio area with its outdoor dining set, long chairs and beach chairs. A terracotta and talavera tiles charcoal barbecue with inbuilt sink and cooking area are ideal for your ocean view barbecues by the pool. We've installed a water pump pressure, it control the water pressure in the Villa, give the same pressure if you're USA or Canada, very appreciated when taking a shower, washing clothes, preparing food, normally the pressure in Mexican house are furnished with gravity, very very low pressure.
You could stay in this area for a long time and not run out of things to do. The local people are very friendly and helpful, and will gladly assist you even if you don't know Spanish.
We have an English speaking caretaker if you need assistance, she will also meet you and introduce you to the Villa.
Historic Merida is a city dating back to the 1600's with amazing original architecture in the Centro district. Experience music and dancing or on Sunday morning rent a bike and tour the city on several streets closed just for bicycling. You will love the fabulous restaurants and outdoor cafes in Merida, and the shopping is great!
Also you can visit modern Merida with it's ice skating rink in the center of a mall, interesting zoo, or it's VIP movie theaters with lounge chairs and cocktail service. Even Home Depot, Costco, Wall Mart, McDonald, Sears, and Starbucks, if you're homesick.
There is much to do nearby including visiting Mayan ruins (Xcambo, Dzibilchaltun, Chichen Itza, Uxmal, and several others), or swimming in Cenotes (underground rivers), fishing, lots of shopping, or just beaching it. The area is culturally interesting and will provide you with insight into true Mexican life.

Thank you for offering such a wonderful place!
Good Afternoon Imad, I just returned home from my trip to Mexico. Just wanted to check and make sure everything was in order with the Casa after we left. You have a wonderful well appointed Casa and we thoroughly enjoyed the small pueblo of Telchac Puerto. Was quite windy for most of the days we were their put thank goodness for the pool. We ate at the 2 restaurants you mentioned in Telchac and also tried a few others that I had spotted on my morning jogs around town. Again, Thank you for offering such a wonderful place to unwind and breathe for a week.

"Fantastic!"Guest comment entered by owner
My husband and I spend fantastic vacation at Villa Playa Del Faro. It was an excellent holiday house in an great location. We were very pleased by the close proximity to the town square and it is just like it shows in the pictures. Beautiful, right on the beach. The pool was clean and refreshing on a hot day. The house is well maintained, organised and very comfortable. The view from the upstairs patio for breakfast was a favorite. Next time we will stay for longer. The people of Telchac Peurto were very welcoming. Yvonne the property manager is very helpful in getting you settled in. We had an amazing time. Thanks so much!

Your villa is like a 5-star resort!
Hello Imad, Your villa is like a 5-star resort! We were so impressed at how thoughtful everything was arranged, even to place scented sheets in the dresser drawers! Lovely decor, good quality throughout and not lacking for anything!! We have travelled a lot for 40 years, - we used to work in the travel industry and we have stayed at the best hotels/resort in most countries. Your villa is top drawer! You have all these great DVDs! We ended up buying a beach house in Chelem! Also, FYI, Ivonne I was a great, - very helpful and gave us some good information. She is a wonderful representative for your property. Lovely lady. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your villa. You have a good investment there. All the best. Regards, Greta and Dave

"Perfect beach vacation villa"
We spent a week here duringDecember 2012 - January 2013. We had a great time at this villa. The rooms were truly beautiful, with breathtaking views. The house was decorated just as nicely and was very comfortable. The kitchen is especially well appointed, with everything you can possibly think of. Internet works very well, large screen TV with huge amount of movies to watch. We enjoyed the open air, fresh breezes and beautiful sunsets each evening. Store to buy food was down the block, walking distance, and beach just steps away. When water was rough we spent time by the pool. You could never be bored in this place. We were very comfortable and felt like at home. Thank you Imad for the wonderful vacation.

Great family vacation, Wonderful Villa
We spent Christmas at this property. It made it very special. The owners though only communicated via phone and email, were very friendly. The booking process was an ease also. Weather was great. The property was perfect. Everything you need is there and in great shape. Kitchen, rooms, bathrooms, and pool very clean and all in perfect working order. Telchac Puerto is very peaceful. It is not for the party life, unless you bring your own. Nice privacy. Thanks again folks and Happy New Years.

Best place in Telchac!
Best place in Telchac!
I recently came back from spending couple of weeks in Telchac Beach @ Villa Del Faro. The rental process was nothing but a pleasure! Imad and France are two of the most polite people I ever deal with. The Villa is located at a perfect walking distance from stores, restaurants and the main Plaza (Downtown Telchac) so you will have easy access to everything you need. The Villa is absolutely LOVELY and WELL equipped! All you need to bring is your clothes and sunblock! If you are a cook you will find ANYTHING you need in the kitchen to make a nice meal!. The house has two nice size bedrooms which was perfect for our family ( My parents took one bedroom and me and my 2 young kids the other one) The beds are nice and comfy and I must point they have the soften sheets! The Villa also has hundreds of movies, a great selection not only for adults for also for kids. The TV system is amazing as well, so treat yourself to a movie night at night time, make popcorn and relax! The Caretaker, Ivonne, was also very nice and very helpful as well as Gary (pool guy) who make sure the pool was clean and ready for us at all times! I'm planing to return to Villa Del Faro for more amazing times! Thank you Imad and France for letting us stay in your Villa!

"Beautifully equipped Villa right on the beach"
Four of us stayed at this lovely Villa with a sandy beach right out the front gate. A quiet and relaxing location with shops and restaurants. The home was very spacious and was equipped with everything you could need for cooking, outdoor activities and modern conveniences such as TV and wi-fi. The owner was wonderful to deal with and our arrangements went very smoothly. It was wonderful to look out and see dolphins swimming by in the ocean-a real highlight!

True Peace and Serenity
True Peace and Serenity
Thank you for making your beautiful house available to guests. The home was well stocked, beautifully furnished and ideally located in the town. The property manager, Yvonne, was a blessing. We had a rental car that broke down several times and she was able to help each time. She's a wonderful resource. The roads and ease of driving in the Yucatan are wonderful and the people helpful and gracious. Getting around was easy. The drive to Celestun was long but interesting and if you are in Telchac in the winter, that is where the majority of flamingos are mating. Going to the market in Motul was sheer joy....the vegetables were like pictures, the food was delicious. Everything felt safe and everyone was warm and gracious so people shouldn't be concerned about being adventurous. The only thing that would be helpful is a unofficial street map of the town....It took us time to find things since we "entered" the town from Telchac Pueblo not via Progresso.....we thought we kept missing the supermarket and never found the coconut ice cream. Also when things sometimes/usually happen, i.e. open food grills on Saturday or Sunday. Unfortunately we missed that completely. Once again thank you we had a wonderful time.

About the owner: We are a professional Canadian couple in mid thirties. We spend several weeks per year at Villa Playa Del Faro and make sure that it is kept well maintained and comfortable for guests, our proprety manager take care of the house and the swimming pool every week, the Villa is cleaned even if it's not occupied.
Why the Owner Chose Telchac Puerto:
we decided to buy a Telchac for tranquility, a lot of activities and Mayan sites to visit in the area, friendliness of the people and especially for safety, we can walk around the city day and night, while feeling safe. The other reason, we are close to the beautiful colonial city of Merida, where we can enjoy a dinner in trendy restaurants, take a walk around downtown, going to the cinema or visit the zoo.
