The cottage was everything we'd hoped for and more. Perfect location perched atop a hill in a secluded valley, surrounded by nature, a pond nearby, and absolute peace and quiet. We saw deer on several occasions emerge from the forest and stroll through the yard. The cottage itself is modern, immaculate, stylish, and cozy. It was the right size for our small family, and would be great for a couple, even two couples or small group of friends since there is an extra bed in the loft. Our infant loved toddling around the cottage and playing with the toys the owner provided. I lived in Charlottesville as a student and have returned many times since, but this time I felt like I had experienced the area in a whole different way. We were far enough from town to experience an escape but close enough (only a 5-10 minute drive downtown) to do all the things we wanted to do in Charlottesville. I would definitely stay here again and am already looking forward to it. The owner is great, too, very kind, thoughtful and responsive.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway.

We decided to get away for a birthday weekend celebration and chose Charlottesville since it was rather close and easy to get to. After searching hotels and B&B's with no success, I found this cottage and luckily it was available! The place was amazing and instantly made us want to move in permanently. The owners have thought of every detail to make this cottage feel like "home" while visiting Charlottesville. Everything from the views out every window to the stone fireplace and the comfortable rustic decor made this cottage a definite favorite on our vacation spot list! We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We've stayed at the cottage now a number of times and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. The pictures don't do it justice. The owners are wonderful, the place is beautiful and we can't wait to go back. I'd highly recommend it.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Amazing cottage with gorgeous views of the lake. Property was well maintained and everything you could need is available in the house (kitchen fully stocked, linens provided, etc.) Cottage was close enough to Charlottesville that it was easy to go and do things, but still had a great feeling of and privacy and seclusion we were looking for in a weekend getaway home.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.

My husband, daughter and I loved this cottage! Great location since it's about 7 minutes from downtown Charlottesville but on a quiet road with the closest neighbor many acres away. Very peaceful, super clean, and highly attractive cottage on gorgeous, hilly setting. Nice jogging on road since few cars. Owners were very responsive, and we definitely want to stay here again and have other family members stay here during our Charlottesville gatherings. A real winner!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

This exceptionally designed cottage is super clean and has the most beautiful views. It feels new and has everything you could possibly need. It is so close to town yet so private I would recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Charlottesville. My husband, myself and our 1 year old son stayed here for 2 nights and the owner supplied wonderful toys and a baby gate - very thoughtful. Thanks for everything!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The cottage is beautiful and was made with considerable attention to details. Close enough to downtown Charlottesville and other places of interest such as wineries, but far enough out that you can enjoy a little peace and quiet. The owners were quick to respond to questions and accommodating. I'd definitely recommend it!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
