7 Mile Beach Condo
7 Mile Beach Condo
I have been here for 28 yrs and would not give it up for the world. Its a great place to return to and relax and enjoy the diving / fishing / beaches / weather and friendly people. It's also very safe and don't have the worries that you do in many other islands or other places of the world. The beach is fabulous, world class everyday or the year, except for the occasional storm, but typically the beach here does very well with very little erosion and is a great place to hang out / relax / swim / snorkel and watch the sunset, always watching for the fairy tale "Green Flash". I am pleased to write this review and emphasize how nice the complex is and especially this unit. I have visited this unit many times and the place is kept in very good shape and notice the owners updating things as they need or should be. It is well appointed / furnished / decorated and makes you feel right at home. I recommend this unit to all my friends and family when they visit the island and everyone of them has had an absolute fabulous time. You should feel very comfortable in knowing that you will be staying in a well maintained and relaxed condo on 7 Mile Beach, not much better then that.

We really enjoyed our stay at Discovery Point Club, unit 42. I will just make bullet points of the pros/cons Pros: -Keith was very responsive during the booking process and offered a great rate -The unit was great - more than enough space for 4 adults and the in unit washer/dryer was a big plus. Full set of channels --- I was even able to catch past of the Bears game on Sunday. The beds were comfortable and the deck was a perfect spot to watch the sunset. -The beach was nice and quiet. There were plenty of beach chairs and no obnoxious people (a huge plus when you spend a lot of time outside). -The pool was fantastic. The temperature was great and it was cleaned every day. -The extras --we received a huge welcome basket after our arrival. Also, one day, an employee(?) came by and cut open fresh coconuts off the trees to drink. A unique, very "island" thing to do. Cons -The biggest con for me was the water directly outside of DPC. It is extemely rocky and difficult to traverse. If you wanted to hop into the water, you had to walk down about 100 yards or try and climb over sharp/slippery rocks. -DPC does not have walkable restaurants/bars/etc. A car is a must if you plan on dining out frequently. The office will call you a cab, but consistently taking a cab will add up. You may also take the bus. I have never done this, so I cannot guarantee its reliability. Overall, it was a great vacation at a great spot at an extremely great price. If you are looking for a relaxing spot away from the main tourist areas, I highly suggest staying here.

We stayed in this condo from 7/22-8/1/2011. The unit had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation, including a fantastic view! We ate all our meals on the spacious patio. The condo was very clean, with upgraded bathrooms and a fully stocked kitchen. It was more spacious than I anticipated and was a wonderful base for our family of 4. We loved the 3rd floor because of the view and did not mind the walk up at all.

Wonderful week at Discovery Point
Wonderful week at Discovery Point
The condo was comfortable with all the basic amenities. It was a nice base camp for our adventures. The beds and other furniture were comfortable the unit was very clean. The screened porch was nice, but too hot to use during the summer. There was an issue with the water heater while we were there and it was taken care of quickly and professionally. The pool and grounds are well maintained and we used the pool at least once every day. There was decent snorkeling right in front of the condo, and a sandy bottomed area suitable for wading was a very short walk south. The beach was quiet which is a trade-off for being a little further from Georgetown.

About the owner: We have owned property in the Cayman Islands for over thirty years. We purchased this property seven years ago as an investment.
Why the Owner Chose Seven Mile Beach:
The greatest asset of the Cayman Islands is the people. We have the good fortune to have met many over the many years we have been coming to Cayman.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The Discovery Point Club has a family atmosphere. Ollie, the Manager, was a good friend years before we purchased a unit here. Her mother Mrs. Altona Ebanks is a very dear person as was her late husband Mr. Olney.
